Throughout his job, he had gotten lost in trying to find time for his family members. Despite not seeing them, he loved them with all of his heart and wanted to make roots with each member as soon as he could. As he walked across the large lands, he thought of every single brother and sister his mother had brought into the world. Maybe the time he needed was now...With that, he set off to find one.

His paws carried him towards Song's den, the one she was sharing with Garth and Arivae. Their scents were everywhere around the entrance and his tail began to wag with expected hopes. "Hello?" he softly called, hoping any of the three would reply to him.

It was strange. Lately, both Song and Garth have been a lot busier in the process of her growth. When she was much younger, and just getting used to the big world around her, her father was more connected to her. Her mother, on the other hand, was usually out doing alpha-related things. Now they were both pretty scarce. And Arivae sure did wonder why. She always dwelled on those types of thoughts. It wasn't like she had anything else better to do, right? No siblings, not many friends. Her cousins and other family members were all in Threar...ah.
Life did really suck, once she thought about it. But depression wouldn't help the situation. It wasn't Song's fault that she only ended up with one child. After all, Arivae really did have plenty of other siblings out there. They just seemed...distant. Away, like they didn't even exist. Why hasn't she tried going out and exploring? Maybe she was scared...maybe she was too much of a coward to leave the comfy den in which she was raised in.
These thoughts made her head spin. She didn't want to keep dwelling over them...but it was difficult to suddenly walk away from them as if they never existed. The thought of being so alone...the thought of her cowardice. Fear. What was she so afraid of? She was capable enough...sensible enough to go out and look for friends. Some other pup like her that could definitely make sure she was happy. Because happiness, now...was rather distant. Why? Why had she been born alone...? Couldn't Song have had two pups? Arivae could have been a sister...she could of had someone to play with on days when both Garth and Song were out. Why had it ended up like this?
Finally, she snapped. All the emotion she held in spilled out like water spilling over a collapsing dam. She curled her tiny body in and stuffed her face into her belly, the cold tears that were shed against her delicate skin sending violent shutters rushing up her body. It was all too much for her to bear. Yeah, she's grown to be a little more mature. More lady-like...as her mother would remind her. And usually breaking out into tears like this was rare. But now---it was too much.
It was like being trapped inside a cage. And every day, minute by minute, the cage would slowly begin to shrink. Leaving her with the only thought of what she would do when the cage got too small...fear. Fear. Suddenly, a soft, gentle voice kissed her ears like the autumn breeze. It was almost like the voice of her father...but she knew that wasn't possible. He couldn't be home already. Arivae slowly extended herself from her tight coil, and found her small paws, tired eyes slowly turning to the entrance of the den.
There, a large male stood, his head lowered and his eyes filled with curiosity. If it hadn't been for the different colors of his eyes...she wouldn't have noticed him at all. She would have suddenly grown hostile and frightened. "D-Dhiren...?" It was a name that she so often heard from her mother and father. This man was one of the leaders of Threar, and her...brother, was it? That's what she remembered from last meeting him. But that was a while ago...when she could barely walk. She could only remember him now from the little faded memories, the aroma he had clung to him, and the looks he held that were described to her by Song a little while ago. Hm...her brother must be a popular guy.
It was then she almost forgot that she had been sobbing and crying before. Quickly, she brushed her face over her forearm to remove the wetness that the tears brought. Then, she moved forward and pressed her head to the much larger boy's chest, a weak and tired smile extending across her lips. "It's nice to see you again..." She hoped he didn't notice her crushed state. Of course, she only barely knew him. But he was family never the less. And she wouldn't doubt he would feel concerned, if he noticed. Arivae didn't want that. The girl didn't want him to be stuck worrying. She wanted to spend time with him, instead...
