She was the size of a whale

Her stomach had swollen massively and it seemed to have done so overnight. She was irritated and crabby. Every little thing was infuriating her. To start her list- she had neighbors, non-Armada neighbors and it wasn't the same scent of Isokan. At first, she was thrilled to realize that they had left- until she realized a new scent was in charge. That was not going to work. She was ill about their presence- they needed to leave, and Gods was she sure to come up with a way to make that happen. She hadn't taken an alliance with Arian, mostly because she loathed the fact that she existed in the North. How something that... weak had survived in this bitter environment she couldn't guess. Prior to her pregnancy, she wished not to have animosity between the packs- so her family wouldn't suffer. Now- she didn't care what trouble she caused, she just wanted them out of the North. This part of Alacritis wasn't big enough for two packs. They intruded upon her very presence here-- and they were not worthy.

This was all besides the point. She couldn't do anything about that until the pups were born. She wouldn't jeopardize their lives. Idly, she envied her father- he'd never had to worry about the live within his wombs, when he'd merely carried the seeds of greatness in his loins. He'd had it so easy- seeking to be great didn't agree with being pregnant. And that annoyed her. It annoyed her that she wanted so desperately to protect something that hadn't even been born yet. Everything annoyed her.

She walked along the thick of her forest- not exactly one the border but close enough to quickly get there should someone call. She paused in her movements, her haunches sinking to the ground- the tips of her paws nearly in the small stream, that ran through the forest. Her head sank to rest on her paws, and she watched the water trickle. A heavy sigh left her. Life was good- but life was boring.

His daily habit was to wander the forest, before or after he'd taken to walking the border. He wansn't really old enough to be handed any responsibilities but he really enjoyed having a job. Otherwise he was prone to wander, and he'd realized quickly that had the potential of getting him in rather large amounts of trouble. Still, sometimes he couldn't help his paws as they carried him off on the next adventure, there were too many new scents to stay all cooped up within these large red trees. He might have veered off and left that day too were it not for the scent of another pack member.

He wasn't often one to seek out the attention of his family, but he was slowly learning who they were. This one was rather important, he remembered Roman well because of her pregnancy. The growing wolves within her had intrigued him, though he'd not been able to get so close. Now could possibly be his chance to really figure out what was going on.

Curiously the white marked Armada boy would find his way to where his aunt would lay. Her form laying lazily at the stream, something that he might have found himself doing at times. He'd lower his head, and smile shyly as he drew more near, kind of nervous to be on his own next to the alpha. "Hi." He'd say simply, wagging his streaked banner slowly.

She had lay interrupted for several minutes and truthfully the silence was slightly unnerving. She felt far away from her pack, she hadn't founded them- hadn't helped them rise from the ashes. Truthfully she'd almost... felt closer to the tratiourus bunch of wolves she'd taken over with Tortuga. Trapped inside her musings and broodings she contemplated her life. She appreciated how this had ended up, but it was truly so strange to her.

'Hi'.

A voice interrupted her musings and she felt a bristling of annoyance, until she inhaled and turned to look at the speaker. Instantly, her expression softened, as she gazed at the pup. One of Athena's and Vereux's no doubt- they were the only pups here. "Hello." She would greet with a soft smile. "What is your name?" She inquires. Of course she knows, but she finds it better to let the young ones introduce themselves. "I am Roman." She does the same kindness, introducing herself- and then adds- "Your aunt." She added almost absentmindedly. Gods this child would one day learn that he had many aunts and uncles. The Armada family was huge.

He was almost so afraid that he wanted to retreat from her before she'd even looked at him, but even as he greeted the alpha her expression would change into something a bit warmer. She would offer a word of greeting back to him, with it a smile that he found he could mirror. She would ask him his name as she gave him her own, adding that she was in fact his aunt. He felt like he had known the information, but it was likely he was too young to actually remember these facts when he was first told. "I'm, Bacchus," he would say politely, trying not to get too excited, "I'm your nephew." as an addition he would show her how well he knew the workings of family titles, though being from the Armada family he hadn't yet had the pleasure of knowing how complicated his family lines were.

The boy introduced himself as Bacchus, and Roman nodded as he commented on being her nephew. Technically, he was her half-nephew but she didn't feel the need to burst any pride he felt with needless technicalities. Roman smiled slightly, "Bacchus is a strong name." She observed. "What are you up too? Hiding from your siblings?" She inquired curiously. Were they playing a game of hide and seek? Pups always seemed to play all sorts of games, and she appreciated their need for play but she didn't want to get in the way. Slowly, she pushed herself up into a seating position, and shook herself slightly. Oh to be young again and not the size of a whale. "Pretty soon you'll have cousins to play with." She said almost absentmindedly, and then she chuckled. "Though I suppose it won't be cool to play with the younger kids, eh?" She inquired with a soft teasing tone.

The marked boy would get a smile out of his alpha, her comment making him feel proud of his calling. He'd feel himself stand a little straighter as she asked what he was doing, maybe hiding from his brothers. At that he'd feel himself deflate a little, obviously more than a little disappointed in their lack of presence. "I think they're hiding from me." He'd say as he looked away from Roman's features. She'd offer the prospect of having smaller cousins to play with and he would perk once more, quite curious about this statement. "Will they play with me more than my brothers?" He'd ask curiously, taking another step towards he as he watched curiously. "I don't mind of they're younger." He would shrug off her next words, a playmate was a playmate no matter their age. Still, he wasn't don'e exploring the thought of these new cousins. "They're going to come from your belly, right?" Like he'd come from Athena's.. they would be from Roman, that was how cousins worked.
