She had almost completely forgotten about Lyonovei in her delirious craving for a snow day. Long legs were taking bounding strides across the landscape as she high tailed it in a vaguely northern direction. She wanted to be drowning in the snow, up to her elbows in the frigid white stuff. So, she knew the only place to go for that was as far north as she could get before Lyon found her and reamed her out for running off again. Tongue lolled from her maw in childish glee as she loped across the frost bitten terra. Stones bit into the pads of her feet every now and again, but she didn't care. She was going where the snow was, and she didn't care what it took to get there. The steel babe needed the snow, like a drowning sailor needed air. It was winter, and her island home wasn't about to give her buckets and buckets of the floating flakes.

She didn't even notice the frozen lake approaching, her single track mind was too busy filling her body with a sense of zero gravity ecstasy as she found herself being kissed by lazily falling snow. Too late she saw the arching pillars of ice, and by then she was skidding across ice. There was a vague sense of terror, but it was consumed by the wondrous feeling of flying. A peal of laughter flew from her lips, while she skidded gracelessly across the ice. Of course, the massive archways made of solid ice rearing up before her were about to be a serious problem, and there was no way she was going to get around them. Her delighted laughter soon turned to a horrified shriek, and no sooner did it echo across the landscape than she collided with a pillar. At least she'd been slowing down before that happened.

A loud groan escaped her lungs, what was left of her air coming out with a series of coughs. Falling heavily backward and away from her newfound foe, she lay on her back and let herself see stars. That wasn't nearly as much fun as it could have been. Mismatched gems fell shut, brows drawn together as she whined pitifully about her predicament. Now her head hurt. How was she supposed to enjoy the snow if she couldn't see past the throbbing in her skull? The answer to that was, she wouldn't. Forelegs folded loosely against her chest, she simply let herself be the lump of wolf she was and waited for the pain to subside. Mostly her chest and face hurt, having crashed directly into the ice pillar at a little faster than her usual trotting speed.

Slowly, the patchwork of pretty colours on the insides of her eyelids faded, and she heard less of the ringing in her ears. The sting in her chest became a dull burn, which would lessen with movement, she figured. "Note to self," She muttered, flopping over onto her side. "be careful of frozen lakes. Especially the ones that fight back." She sighed, getting back to her feet laboriously. Under her toes, pulses of light were marking her place. A soft sound of awe escaped her, and she grinned. How cool was this?! She bounded forward a ways, watching the ice light up every time her paws landed. The need for abundant snow was forgotten, her mind consumed by this new finding.

He could not find the energy to be furious. The incredulity was too great, that he was still putting up with the sprite's shenanigans. I am not a babysitter, he would tell himself as he plodded along her trail. I am better than this, he claimed, but continued to care for Sacha all the same. Surely something was wrong with him. Even so, the girl had grown on him. She did not illicit the same rage he'd once felt when thinking of her, nor did he sit awake at night wondering how he might give her the slip. In truth, thinking of such things made his fur heat up with a dull sort of shame. "Sacha?" he called out. He was close now, he knew it.

A familiar shriek met his ears and he sighed, wondering if that was from delight or something else. "Oh, hell," he rumbled to himself, before taking off towards the noise. Unlike some other reckless souls he might mention, he was careful to maintain stability on the slippery surface of the lake below. He saw her before him, saw her bash into the pillar and winced, wondering if it had hurt as much as it had appeared to from his distance. He saw her skid a bit further before collapsing and with yet another sigh he trotted to where she'd come to rest. His ear caught a faint but indistinct muttering. Well, at least she was alive... "Sacha? What on earth was that, you could have killed yourself." His voice was gruff and not at all coddling as it might have been if he were a caring sort. Instead he leaned down, sniffing over her prone form, trying to discern if she was bleeding or had broken any bones.

The sound of thunderous paw steps alerted her to a presence, and the wafting of a familiar scent to her nostrils brought a doofy grin onto her face, spreading across her features like a wildfire. Lyon was here! She let out a yip of delight, bounding forward on treacherous paws that wobbled to and fro under her. He didn't even look super mad at her! It must be the snow. It had to be the snow. It was the only thing they didn't have on their little island. The snow is magic, and makes Lyon less grumpy than usual. She needed to bring some of this magic snow home with her. "Lyon!" She squealed gleefully, making a rather pathetic attempt to tackle her beloved sibling that would have been much more threatening if she didn't look like an idiot while she slipped and slid across the ice toward him. "If I managed to do that, it would be a good way to go." She laughed, burying her face into her brother's ruff affectionately. She was still under the firm belief that Lyon's eternal grumpiness could be cured with a little love and more exposure to her constant sunshiney disposition. It seemed like a good plan, at least.

She lathed her tongue over his cheek, furthering her loving greeting. Lyon was obviously deprived of kisses and things as a child, so she decided it was her sisterly duty to give him the affection he lacked in his childhood. "Did you see the glowy ice, Lyon?" She inquired giddily, charcoal tipped plume whipping back and forth. "It's like magic!" She whispered reverently, grinning like a kid on Christmas. She was on top of the world, with a fine dusting of snow on her pelt and her brother at her side, and to top it all off, there was magical glowing ice under her toes.

He had in fact not noticed the strangeness of the ice which supported them. With a huff he looked down and scuffed a paw through the snowy blanket which obscured most of what lay beneath. True to her word, the ice was indeed glowing. Somehow that was deeply disconcerting for the brute. Unnatural. They'd probably contract some sort of vile disease from it or... something. He tried to scuff the snow back into place and pretend he'd never noticed it in the first place. "So it would seem," he rumbled. He wanted to assure himself that she was in fact okay.

She was up and moving sure, but without forcing her to say it herself, well, how could he be sure? Of course digging so deep would give away the ember of affection, and he couldn't have that. So instead he jounced about, forcing his considerable weight down upon the ice. It seemed stable enough, though he could have guessed as much. It was cold up here. If he'd had his way they'd be on the southernmost shore available, but no, the twit had wanted snow. Go figure. "Why do you insist on running off? Do you like making me hunt you down?" he queried in an annoyed tone, even if his heart was not truly in it.

Lyon looked less than impressed with the luminescent wonder under their feet. Why did he look so concerned when he covered the ice back up? Was she the only one who actually thought this was the shit? It was pretty awesome, and with every step they took, the light bloomed beneath their feet. It seemed to be the coolest thing since she'd found the mangrove in the east with similar water. Only this time, she wasn't completely soaked with mucky water! How could anyone wear a look of disdain when they weren't soggy, all the while achieving the same effect under their feet? It was pretty sweet. She nibbled on his cheek fur, like she always did when she thought he needed to be cheerier. Letting out a small huff of mild irritation with her brother and his grumpy disdain for all this wonder around them, she started bounding toward the archways of solid ice. It was like a maze! However, her brother's voice distracted her from the labyrinth ahead of her. She turned her sparkling mismatched gaze on her brother. That was a pretty good question. "I dunno." She sighed, shrugging her narrow shoulders heavily. Her tail tip gave an absent twitch as she pondered this. She just kind of, wandered off when she wanted. "Sometimes I just wanna go places, and you're always off doing something when I wanna go see things. If I waited until you came back home, I'd never get to go everywhere, I guess." She hummed, before disappearing. It seemed like a good answer to her.

The maze of ice engulfed her in seconds, and she was quick to lose herself in the wonders of it. Every pillar of ice was different, warping her appearance in some way as she padded along. She let out a giggle as her face stretched to be taller than her on the wall of natural glass. Her pace was quick to pick up as she trotted through the ice labyrinth, sliding across the frozen floor on her unsteady feet. Her tongue hung from the side of her maw in glee as she wandered about. It was nice here, she rather liked it. Banner waved to and fro happily as she wandered. Where did Lyon go? "Lyoooon?" She called suddenly, stopping in her tracks to wheel around. He was here just a second ago.

Sacha affection was something he'd grown used to as well, and he stood stoically while she tried to draw him from his grouchy shell. Once upon a time he might have pushed her away but now he only sighed. She did at last answer his question though, providing that he was simply not punctual when it came to 'adventure.' He scoffed, a harsh sort of laughter, but was amused all the same. "Oh, pardon me, your grace." He dipped into a low bow rife with mockery. "So sorry to have displeased you." And like that she was off again, lost amidst the snowy pillars. He wandered after her at a walk, gargantuan form following her pawsteps, taking one pace for every two of hers. He too marveled at the light playing throughout this alien landscape. It was beautiful, sure, but no less unsettling for all of that.

He brought his pace up to a trot when his sister called out for him. She'd managed to wander off father than he had expected, but he was able to overtake her soon enough. "It's like I'm your nanny. Honestly, what would the other knights say if they saw me having stooped so low?" Truth be told, the thought was honestly one that plagued him. He was hardly the hardened warrior he'd once been, hardly the fighter, the killer. He'd found his way among numerous bands of Ebony refugees and other mercenaries, and not a brute among them might have recognized him, if not for his immense appearance. He rolled his vivid eyes, and sought distraction. "Is there anything to eat around here?"

When he caught up with her, Sacha butted his powerful shoulder lightly with her head, playful and affectionate. His question wasn't something that really bothered her, and she was quick to shrug. What did that matter? Everyone had opinions, and if you let them get to you, obviously you needed some more love from everyone. But of course, that's what she was there for, right? Gazing up at her sibling, she stuck her tongue out tauntingly at him. "They'd probably say you're a big doofus. Though they probably said that before you met me." She teased, her smile crinkling the corners of her eyes. She giggled, bouncing on her toes for a second.

Inspiration struck like a train. Her goofy grin grew wider, and the smug look on her face told the tale of what was to come before it could even happen. She whirled around, kicking the thin layer of snow that had accumulated up at her brother. Oh yes, this was going to be awesome. Hopefully, it hit him in the face, and he got a nose full of the frosty precipitation. She let out a peal of laughter, bounding forward on unsteady paws to escape her brother's wrath. Glancing over her shoulder, she watched for his pursuit. This was brilliant. Weaving between the columns of ice and archways made of frozen water, she was scrabbling her way across the lake as she slowly started to realize that Lyon might not be finding that to be as much fun as she was.

Sacha was definitely about to get a face full of snow when he caught her. Digging her claws into the ice, she fought for purchase as she went sliding in the wrong direction. Profanities came tumbling from her mouth in increasingly loud tones of despair as the snow bank on the edge of the lake came rearing up before her. An indignant shout escaped her, and she sat down in the middle of her sliding across the ice. That slowed her down, but that was about it. Soon enough, she disappeared into the thick white precipitation. Well, that went well.

Her prediction brought a chuckle from the man's depths. He rolled his eyes. To be following a tiny maniac around playing hero? Doofus was putting it lightly. He opened his mouth to reply by was met with a small explosion of cold and wet. He stood there stunned, his bright eyes blinking and flakes fell away from the white mask he'd unwittingly donned. His lip barely had time to curl before Sacha was streaking away from his, dashing across the ice. "Damn it, Sacha," he roared after her, but he did not think the young fae was near enough to hear.

He saw where she was heading, a headlong dash towards gods know where, but he kept his head. He took a straight course where hers was wide and arching, hoping to cut her off. He was nearly there when the girl put the brakes on. He slowed as well, smirking as she slid past him on her hind end, wildly out of control. Her expletives were entertaining enough to distract from his own ire. "Ladies don't speak that way," he admonished. He dashed towards his younger sister, lowering his broad skull and aiming for her shoulder, hoping to toss her sideways and send her sprawling into the soft snow below.

As she skidded wildly across the ice, the thunderous chorus of her brother's feet grew louder behind her. Aw shit. Her ass felt like it was on fire, despite being sliding along on ice. She was gonna be walking funny for a week, and probably wouldn't be able to form coherent sentences after that lovely blow to the head earlier. This just wasn't her day. The steel babe braced for the inevitable blow when her titanic brother caught up, her curses becoming unintelligible as they streamed from her inky lips. She was about to get her ass kicked, she could feel it. However, the snarky comment he made as he knocked her off course was not what she was thinking was going to happen.

Nevertheless she still hit the snow bank, and still ended up buried completely in the fluffy drifts. Her muffled attempts to escape could be called cute, if they didn't sound vaguely vulgar. Finally, a snow covered head popped out of the snow like a spring daisy. She snorted flakes from her nostrils, grumpily shaking the heaping pile of precipitation from the crown of her skull. A small frown creased her brow. "This isn't fun anymore." She announced glumly, fighting to free her forelimbs from the snow. All she succeeded in doing was tiring herself out. "Lyon help!" She whined pitifully, wiggling frantically in a rather pathetic attempt to either draw her brother's attention, or get herself loose.
