She regretted ever being back here, having ever decided to come back after vowing not to. But she had promised her children a choice in where they would grow up, though she had no intentions of returning without ensuring that the south was a safe place to return to. The borders had long fallen stale, barely holding a whisper of scent to them. A troubled sigh rolled off her tongue. So many memories. Memories of her children running through the grasses, their first days outside. And then nightmares. Crucifix's melt down. Then watching the woman race from his side. Othello. He had been so foolish enough as to tell her her name. Her gaze would drop, crown shaking in disbelief. Her life had turned to shit. She had no pack, so for all she knew Falk was still imprisoned in Arcanum, and she was unable to help him on her own. Shoulders sagged wearily. What she would do to take it all back.

It was a slow, tiring process, but he was beginning to figure out ways to maneuver without his sight. The bite wounds had pretty much healed by this point, only the deepest cuts still remaining slightly unhealed. He was lucky to have Surreal and her mother to care for his injuries, their help had sped his recovery along. However, it had become abundantly clear that there was no amount of healing that would bring his sight back. For the first time in a long time he found himself wishing that Taurig was still hanging around. Of all the wolves he knew Taurig would be the one to ask about how to deal with being blind.

He still didn't trust himself to wander very far from the area that his family occupied in the willows, but he refused to let his new impairment drag him down and just sitting around the den was depressing for multiple reasons. So instead he had made his way out here. His steps were slow and faltering, still tripping over things occasionally and still worrying that he might get lost. His ears were perked and listening for every little sound around him and his nose was constantly twitching as he pulled in all the scents around him. Suddenly an all too familiar scent hit his nose and he hurried his steps, ears listening carefully. Sibelle. He wondered what she would say when she saw his now sightless eyes and his face covered in scars. "Sibelle?" he called, hoping she would speak so he could locate her more easily. "Are you really there?"

She would hear him before he spoke. His paws scrapped the ground with uncharacteristic noise. Her gaze would search the plains until she found her brother. She would gasp in shock and could do nothing but stare. He was blind. Completely blind. Immediately guilt washed over her. She should have done more to protect him, to keep him from Arcanums grasp. Oh Falk! What happened? Are you ok? Im so sorry. Words would rush from scarred lips as she rushed to him. She would stop just before him, her singular gaze searching his face wildly. She would press her nose to his cheek. It would strike her that she now had two brothers that were blind. Were they all destined to live a life in darkness? She was already half way there. Immediately she would fear for her children, for her nieces and nephews. Had fate destined them all to be tortured? No, she didn't believe in such things. She would take a breath, trying to settle her nerves and regain her composure. But her brother was blind, he would never see his children again.

When he heard Sibelle's familiar voice he would visibly relax, the tension falling from his shoulders and face. His now forever alert ears heard her paws move against the grass so he held still and let her come to him. There was a pause in her movements, but he knew she was close from how strong her scent had gotten. Then, finally, he felt her nose against his cheek and he leaned into her touch. It was the first time he had seen her since the fight he had joined in on at Arcanum. The last he had seen of her she had been knocked out thanks to Kylar slamming her against a tree. Sadly that would be his last memory of seeing her. Now he could only feel her presence and hear her voice, just like everyone else in his life. His only memories of his children would be them as small pups. The last expression he saw on Surreal's face was one of disapproval and anger as he ran recklessly into a fight that ultimately led to him being imprisoned and blinded. It was something that he would have to live with for the rest of his life.

He pulled her in tight, curving his neck around hers in an embrace. "I'm glad you're okay, Sib. I've missed you," he rumbled, putting off answering her frantic questions at least for a moment. Feeling her there eased his worries so much. After a moment he would step back, settling onto his haunches. It was still hard for him to be up on his paws for long periods of time. After a while he would begin to loose his sense of direction and the world would feel upside down. He sighed as he sat down, his sightless gaze looking in Sibelle's direction. "Kylar was going to let me go. He didn't tell me what you did or said to him, he just said he made you a promise so whatever you did... thank you." He smiled breifly before going on. "He was leading me to the border and had lead me to a deer the pack had killed the day before so I could have the left overs since I had gotten very malnourished during my stay in Arcanum. That's when Catalya showed up. Apparently Kylar had not discussed my release with his wife or if he did she did not agree. I really didn't stand a chance given what state I was in... I put up a fight, but Catalya bested me and took my sight." He sighed as he finished, turning his head down like he was looking at his paws. There were some mannerisms that he held onto despite the fact that they did him no good any more. He had only been blind for a short time after all, it would take time for those mannerisms to die away.
