Fun. That was not a word that Soliloquy had ever thought could be applied to parenthood. The activities that led to the creation of children, that had been fun but the kids themselves, not at all. He was stuck with one ignorant little git, one that screamed at everything her brother did and the third, well Shakespeare was alright really Soliloquy supposed, he was still not fun but at least he didn't cause headaches. He'd been positive that brother had been lying when he used the word fun and now that they had been born he was absolutely certain.

Now Soliloquy had made one assumption all of his own, it'd get better when they could kick the kids out of the den from time to time, that they'd use up some of that energy and stop being so annoying. If anything they had gotten worse, Caesar found even more ways to cause trouble and Colette would of course return crying about the things her stupid brother had done. Shakespeare on the other hand was still quiet, would silently vanish for periods of a time. He probably didn't need to worry about him, though he was still a little suspicious as to what the kid was up to. There was something wrong with him, there just had to be and it'd surely finally be revealed in some big chaotic explosion that put even Caesar and Colette's actions to shame.

It was time for a break now though, the kids were off entertaining themselves and he too had been banished from Isolde as she took some time to rest on her own. Soliloquy decided he'd go see the smirk that was surely glued to his brother's face and inform him that this plan of 'little minion's was never going to work. It clearly hadn't worked for Scorpion's kids after all and Soliloquy didn't see it working for his own. Making his way across the range, he'd let out a short bark hoping to get his brother's attention.

He'd only really seen the brats like once since they'd been born, all of them had been asleep at the time so he'd thought them rather adorable. Of course he had no idea what his brother was going through trying to raise the little hellions. Mercy and Revenge both had been quiet and behaved. He'd only just started leaving his own den as the recovery of his foot slowly became obvious. He was no longer in any danger of death.

Still rather lazy though he'd keep himself within the den, not feeling much need to remove himself as his brother's bark would awaken him. Groaning the tall man would make his way from the den, long limbs stretching as he emerged to look at Soliloquy. His brother seemed a bit ragged from the last time he'd seen him. Obviously he needed to get more sleep. "You look like shit." He would offer directly, golden eyes observing the new father.

The so called adorable pups had not stayed that way for long. Sure there had been a moment that he had proudly admired them, though with their genes they were surely only destined to grow up into some good looking wolves. They were annoying though. There were few other ways to explain it without getting explicit in word choices.

Scorpion would break all niceties as he appeared, commenting on how wonderful the new father looked. "You don't say." Soliloquy retorted dryly. He wasn't aware of course quite how bad he may have looked though he certainly wouldn't have suspected he was looking his best right about now. It was damn impossible when you had three kids like his. Mercy and Revenge may have been perfect little angels, even they hadn't quite turned out right it seemed, scampering off at the first chance with not a single word back to their family. Right now he couldn't wait for his three to do the same.

"Do you ever have any idea what you're talking about these days? 'They're cute, they're fun' You Liar." He clearly was not in the greatest of moods and unfortunately it was his brother than was going to receive the brunt of it right now. "You'd look like shit too if you had to put up with the little shits."

He'd find himself smirking at his brother's retort, the sarcasm dripped from his lips as he said it. Scorpion would refrain from making any statements just yet, but he did look mighty pleased with himself. He could only guess by his appearance how fatherhood was treating him, though the words would paint a pretty clear picture as he started throwing accusations around. He'd push his brows together in a scowl, but the amused look would keep on his features. Soliloquy was feeling incredibly fond of his children right at that moment.

The elder of the two brothers would refrain from laughing, knowing that he wouldn't help the situation any. Soliloquy was frustrated and very much needed to vent and blame someone, and might as well have been the older brother than one of the children or Isolde. "Sorry." He'd finally offer with a shrug. "I'll keep 'em for a day for you or something to make up, hmm?" If Isolde allowed him to.. though with how Sol looked he wondered if he wouldn't end up killing one of them.

The amused look certainly wasn't helping settle Soliloquy's sour mood at all. In fact, it probably only succeeded in irritating the younger man further. Had this been the plan all along, to try pull the wool over his eyes for even the briefest of moments to make him suffer that much more when the things finally arrived in the world? First that bad advice of 'have fun' and now the even worse reassurance that 'kids were fun'. His brother was not his favourite person in the world right at this moment, what reason had he had to lie to him, other than some twisted game?

"A day, sure that'll help." Yet more sarcasm poured found its way easily into his words. His brother hardly seemed particularly sorry about the whole ordeal and Soliloquy still suspected from that rather pleased expression that Scorpion had known all along that he was about to enter hell. "I suppose at least you seem to lose kids as quickly as you gain them. Just try keep hold of Shakespeare, he's the least trouble." In his annoyance he wouldn't immediately be aware of his words and the fact that they could potentially hurt his brother. Equally it'd probably be hurtful if either Caesar or Colette overheard the words, their father openly admitting he favoured Shakespeare above them.

Of course Scorpion had never intended on giving Soliloquy any kind of false information, he only gave him the experience he had gone through. Soliloquy hadn't been incredibly young when Scorpion had taken him under his wing, but he had never been particularly hard to stand. Scorpion felt like he actually got along with his younger brother quite well. Obviously he'd done something right. The fruit of his loins seemed much different though, as none of them stayed at his side. Atka had even gone her own way. Not that Scorpion found himself complaining though, the only effects he would come to regret were Othello's obvious attachments to them.

He wouldn't lose his grin as Sol's sarcasm became evident in every word. Scorpion didn't have much sympathy for the boy. He could have left the girl for good if they were causing him that much grief. He supposed that maybe he should have acted hurt at the comment about his children, he'd shrug the words off as he was warned to keep an extra special close eye on Shakespeare. Scorpion would give a little chuckle as he would nod. "Alright, I'll make sure that one's returned to you." Giving another chuckle before continuing, "When do you want it?" Half ignoring the emotions boiling in his brother's chest.

Indeed he could have left Isolde. Never had he claimed any eternal commitment to her. The problem was simply that she was his and he hadn't been quite willing to let her go just yet. Perhaps it was the fact that it had nearly been the other way around, she had nearly been the one to leave. It had to be his choice to make, evidently that slightly possessive trait was one that the two men shared.

To be honest that some possessive nature would probably extend to his children. They were most certainly his. He could speak so casually about losing them but would he truly be so calm if they did happen to vanish? Hopefully that theory would never be tested, and for now the sour man would continue to burn off some of that frustration upon his brother. Perhaps it was good they were so close, it meant Soliloquy could get away with this childish behaviour now, Scorpion may not had appreciated such accusations from someone else.

That simple question would catch him off guard to be honest. Though Scorpion had been offering to babysit it only hit him now as the question of when was presented to him. Now? What was the point, the kids weren't even rounded up just yet and Isolde too was likely off trying to track them down. He'd have to let her know too, the day off together would in fact surely be rather nice. "I don't know." He responded, a heavy sigh leaving him as some of that anger faded, at least the stuff aimed purely at his brother anyway.

"They really are little shits." Soliloquy repeated, slightly calmer now as much as a warning as it was reaffirming he hadn't been exaggerating. "Caesar doesn't listen to a damn word we say and Colette can't hear over her own screams. And even Shakespeare wanders off, Isolde's always worried about where they'll go. What the hell am I meant to do with that?"
