The first time she had fallen pregnant Novella had no idea what was happening. It was in fact her mother who had first learnt about it and shared the news with her. She wasn't quite the happy expectant mother either, in fact she had been terrified through the entire thing, constantly worried but her mother had been there to guide her and help and that was some sort of comfort.

This time though it was completely different. The sickness and signs would start and a little more knowledgeable and experienced she could recognise them herself. Where on the first time around she had believed she was ill this time she knew full well she was pregnant. She could cope, Aslan, Varda and Herne provided proof of that fact for her, they'd grown from the delicate little pups to three beautiful and healthy grown wolves.

Still she had cried as she realised, she of course would love these new children it was nothing to do with them but the memories they had brought to her mind. Even if she didn't need the help so much this time it still would have been wonderful to share the news with them. Apart from Frith, they would have been the first she would have told but they weren't there to tell this time.

She'd sat out alone for a while and at last she had regained her composure. Though the absence of her parents would sadden her she didn't want to share this with Frith, instead simply the joy that they would be parents again. It was wonderful news after all and it wasn't these new children that were making her unhappy in any way. No, they would bring plenty of joy she was sure. A small smile would cross her features at that thought as she made her way back to the den, slipping back inside to wake Frith with a soft nuzzle.

He was sleeping quite peacefully in their den, his mind wandering through the halls of dreamland. He'd not quite picked up on Novella's change of scent, nor was he aware of the morning sickness that gripped her. Frith hadn't even really considered the possibility of more offspring, so would continue to be blissfully unaware through out the morning. He would vaguely register that his wife's warmth was no longer radiating at his side, but sleep would keep him in its embrace until her return.

He would feel her gentle nuzzle as she slipped back in beside him, but he wouldn't let his body move as he found his way back to consciousness. Keeping his dual colored eyes closed he would mumble to her softly, "I'm asleep." as he refrained from wagging his tail in amusement. He had no doubt that his little game wouldn't last half as long as Novella's resolve.

Frith was still alseep when she returned though the soft nuzzle would apparently restart the very game that had gotten them to this point in the first place. She was left with two choices, to keep playing it or insist he woke up that it was urgent.

The latter of course ran the risk of worrying him, and so she found herself making up her mind rather easily. Difference was she wasn't going to play the game quite the same way, rather than insisting he needed to wake, continuing to try rouse him she would instead lie down beside him. "Alright then." She responded, leaving him in peace as she turned her head away now to rest it upon her paws and hide the small smile from view. "I suppose I'll have to wait for you to wake up."

Novella would take the opportunity to add another twist to their game, this time though Frith would run the risk of really falling back asleep. His beautiful wife would take her place next to him again, curling easily at his side as she settled herself back down for another nap. (hey sounds like kat's normal routine) She would simply take his refusal to awaken and roll with it, allowing him the peace of his sleep. He'd feel his lips come up into a smile, but he found himself still unable to rise. He'd find himself dozing off again after a few minutes, jumping slightly as he woke himself back up head rising from his paws like a gunshot had fired. He'd relax almost immediately though, his bicolored eyes falling on Novella curled beside him. He'd lay his head on her shoulders, not really giving up the game, but coming to a truce as he let his eyes slip closed again. "You were gone for a while," he'd observe softly, taking in her sweet scent as he inhaled afterward his body relaxing.

Her little twist on the game would apparently backfire however, at least it appeared it was going to initially. No sign of stirring would come from him and whilst she lay there wide awake she found herself growing unsure on whether the game was continuing with both simply too stubborn to give in or if Frith actually was asleep, he had still sounded rather sleepy after all when she had initially tried to wake him.

Suddenly though Novella felt him move at her side, not a gentle shift but a quick start that suggested something had made him jump. He wouldn't react in any other way however and simply settle down beside her again, leaning over now so neither was able to ignore the other really. "So you were awake then." She commented slyly, he had noticed she had been gone and evidently he hadn't really slept the entire time.

Now did she tell him outright the news or continue to stretch it out a little longer, allowing the relaxing moment to continue that little bit more to shock him when it was finally revealed? She, perhaps cruelly, decided upon the latter option. "I just wanted a bit of air. It's a wonderful morning." She responded. Neither of course a lie but certainly not big enough clues for him to catch onto what she had to tell him.

She would notice that he was had been awake, though surely that was the wrong way to describe his state. Maybe half asleep was better, as there was no way he had been fully awake when she'd left or come back in. "If you wanna call it that." The man would mutter, his bright eyes still closed and his head upon her. She would answer him easily, an explanation that was certainly worthy of her actions but why had she wanted him awake again? The curiosity would draw him further from the depths of sleep as his eyes opened, his skull would tilt to teh side and he would use his side teeth to nibble at her scruff. "Is that all you wanted me awake for," Frith would ask, To let me know you had a good walk?" His features would straighten as he looked back over at her features, curious what she was thinking.

Frith would easily settle down once more and a small part of her felt bad for disturbing him so many times that morning, evidently he was feeling at least a little sleepy and she had absolutely no intention of letting him rest again properly just yet.

The conversation, not that it had really taken off just yet was already starting to wake him a little more, his sleepy affections finding their way to be placed upon her and words continuing as he questioned whether that was all she had wanted to wake him up for. Was he a little bit suspicious, already assuming that there was in fact more to her little story than she was letting on.

"Mmm" She would offer a small sound of agreement to begin with, relaxing herself and certainly attempting to come off as nonchalant as possible, lulling him in a false sense of calm just to watch the surprise unravel when he realised the big news. "That and I'm pregnant again." She spoke quietly still though would attempt to try and get some glance of Frith without moving too much in order to see his reaction.

She really didn't have any intentions of letting him back to sleep, but he was quite alright with that. He couldn't deny the enjoyment he got from being in her presence even if he had to sacrifice a bit of sleep for it. Her pale form would hardly move as his regular affections were received with little reaction. She seemed relaxed though, with the last season they'd had he believed she deserved every second of it. He had to admit though she had been doing much better since their trip to the caves, her spirit seemed to return. So relaxed was his wife that Frith barely batted an eye at her next statement, his brain taking a good long while to process her words before he felt his jaw drop. "Are you really?" He'd ask in wonder, his features rising off her shoulders to get a better look at her pretty face. He hadn't really intended on more offspring, nor had he really thought of the possibility, but he couldn't deny the pleasure the thought brought him. Life really was moving on.

Novella had apparently done a very fine job of keeping things rather calm it was a few moments before she sensed any real reaction from him, actions suddenly stopping as he obviously shifted moving into view now as she could see the surprise evident upon his features. She couldn't help but smile at the success of that perhaps slightly evil plan though the main reason for it was of course Frith's sweet reaction. From the joy already spreading across his expression it really would be cruel for her to deny this truth for a minute, or of course crueller still if she had simply been toying with him all along and yet he would still enquire as to whether or not she was pregnant. "Yes." She confirmed.

Novella was pregnant again, he would try to keep his face from beaming too much before she even reconfirmed her statement. Aslan, Varda, and Herne were his world, to be able to add to those perfect little lives.. He couldn't imagine creating a family with anyone but Novella, and to know that once more they would explained it made his heart feel light. After the loss of Novel and Dutiron the pack needed the good news. For a brief moment he wondered how their current brood might react to brothers and sisters and his smile would only grow as he shifted himself. Wrapping his arms around Novella he'd hold her tightly, being careful of her abdomen. "That's.. amazing. You, are amazing, Novella." He'd whisper as he reached down to kiss her tenderly. He wasn't sure he could have loved her any more than he did, but in that moment he felt the emotion for her grow. "I love you." He'd whisper in her ears as he pulled her close.

He had been nothing but supportive and joyful about the first pregnancy, even more so than Novella herself had been probably. That had been at the very start of their relationship really, everything so new and in her case so scary. Honestly this time she didn't doubt for a moment that he would have shown the same enthusiasm if not more. They had three wonderful children and he had never once seemed to oppose the large size of her family, therefore there would surely be no problems with continuing to help it grow.

Sure enough Frith would respond very positively, his happy and excited emotions only growing as she confirmed the truth once more for him and he would shower her in those undeserved compliments but such lovely affections. "No, they will be amazing, just like their big brothers and sister." She corrected him. Of course she and Frith played a part in that but it wasn't solely her doing even if she did provide and protect them as she carried them whilst they grew. "I love you."

She was much more relaxed this time than the first, having experienced childbirth once it seemed Novella had overcome her fear. They would really be able to enjoy this pregnancy together with many of their previous fears gone. Though he knew it would still be rough with out her parents there for advice, he felt confident. She would try and deflect his comments, seeming quite sure that he had his wolves mixed up. He knew the truth though, and he would never think she was anything less than perfect. "They're quite brilliant." He'd whisper into her fur as she returned his confession of love. "I don't know what i'd do if you didn't." He would tell her, still sure that he would be lost and alone within those white forests forever if she had not been there to find him.

Frith just still didn't quite seem to get how humble a wolf he he found in Novella. Though she had long since given up completely denying any compliment cast her way, she still felt that he thought far too highly of her at times. Of course he wasn't alone in that respect, others had evidently thought her rather promising such as her parents and family, that was how she had ended up here, Author of Threar. It made it more painful when she made mistakes to be honest, knowing she'd let down so many wolves.

Such thoughts wouldn't enter her mind now though as she settled down with her mate, only the more pleasant ones were allowed to remain. Even her parents and their absence from the world wouldn't trouble her again in this moment, it was lucky then that Frith had known better than to bring it up if he'd realised it for themselves.

She would let a content sigh slip from her lips as she snuggled closer to the chocolate coloured male, listening still to his soft whispers. The feeling was completely mutual, she wasn't sure what she would have done without him either. "I don't know what I'd do either." She responded softly.

His opinion of her may have been rather high, but he believed in every notch. He adored every single inch of her, and he would never take that back. He could have easily claimed her as his soul mate, something his mother had never believed in herself but the thought had always stuck out to him. The pair wouldn't let the tragic thoughts of loss appear now though, only joy would permeate their den.

Novella would sigh with contentment, seeping into his embrace. She would echo his statement, sure that either wolf would be lost with out the other. Though it really made him think about what if they never had met. Surely their kingdom would not stand here now if they'd not pledged themselves to one another and created their own little family amidst the rest of their may relatives. "It's a good think you found me, all lost in the forest. I can't believe you brought me home. If Varda had a boy in her den.." He felt the fur on his back raise slightly. How had Novel and Dutiron put up with him?

Novella certainly never cared to think about what life might be like without Frith at her side. She of course had coped perfectly fine before him, hadn't even been aware that her life needed something else though now she had found him and they had created this little family, she simply wouldn't imagine a life without him. She could of course, loss had a way of doing that to you, but it was a painful idea and she doubted she would be standing quite as strong had Frith been taken from her by this illness as well.

There were some things that you only really got to understand when you became a parent yourself. The worries the longing to protect them, of course it extended towards family too but there was something different about parents. They raised their children from babies and were unable to forget those first precious moments as they gazed at such delicate little things. Novella understood it now, and it seemed Frith himself did as well. Why they had struggled to accept Frith at first, why they had been so angry with him and the way their relationship panned out. "It seemed like a nice thing to do at first for that lonely boy." She pointed out. "I understand their point of view now though."

His dark nose would nuzzle into her cheek as he spoke of their first night together. Though only a year had passed he felt so much older now, more experienced. A lot had happened in the last year. He could see where her parent's emotions had come from, why it had taken so long for Frith to earn Dutiron's trust. He knew anyone trying what he'd done with Novella to Varda he would run out of the territory. "We should certainly keep these stories to ourselves." his deep voice would whisper near her ear. "i'm afraid the children might get ideas otherwise." He would add, pulling her closer.

In the event that history repeated itself with Varda or even any of their other children it would be incredibly hypocritical of the two to react in the same manner that Novel and Dutiron once had. That being said, Novella certainly couldn't blame them for such a reaction anymore nor would she be entirely pleased if the scenario occured with her children. Yes she hadn't seen the harm in things then though now she knew that she and Frith had certainly made a bit of a mess of things within the early developments of their relationship starting from the very moment she brought him home. She should have left him at the borders, told him to howl in the morning and accompanied her parents in greeting him. In fact there were many different ways she could have handled the situation and yet she had chosen perhaps the worst one. Hopefully their children would have far more sense than she and Frith apparently had.

"That is probably best." She agreed, nuzzling him in return, certainly not wanting to put any crazy ideas in their heads or fuel them with opportunities to turn around and point out their parents' mistakes in the event that similar scoldings ever needed to happen. "I still don't regret it for a moment though. And you have to admit, even if we have to be careful who we share it with, it does make a rather interesting story."

Of course neither wolf saw the harm in their decision at the time. Maybe they could blame their tired minds, it had been much too late to bother Novel or Dutiron maybe their won senses had fallen asleep. Though he also felt as though he was much more innocent at the time, obviously that hadn't lasted very long. He was still unable to resist her, the new life in her womb proof.

Her words would disrupt his errant thoughts as she agreed with his words, the knowledge of these stories would certainly work against them should their children ever learn of them. Only a few select wolves knew the truth though, even if the story was amusing. "It's the best story," his voice would sound softly, their love story was his favorite. Despite Dutiron's first doubts he had every intention of giving Novella a happy ending. He would lean forward again, placing a sweet kiss on her cheek. "However, we shouldn't keep the news of more brothers and sisters from them. When should we tell?" His features would tilt slightly, his grin goofy as he felt like a puppy with an exciting secret.

Novella had certainly been more innocent at that point in time. Finding love hadn't been in her thoughts and certainly a purely physical connection was never something that she had wanted either. A true love like her parents would have been her hope, even if she hadn't realised it at that point in time. That first night sharing a den with Frith had been entirely innocent, two friends if they could even call each other that at that point. Things had quickly changed after that but feelings simply hadn't been possible to control.

Novella had always thought that her father's stories were the best ones. A Dutiron recount of the event probably would have been a brilliant one to share, though of course living the story itself was better than being able to tell it well. It perhaps wasn't quite the smoothest of love stories, nor the nicest light to recall her parents in, they had been so furious after all. Even they surely would have looked back upon it humorously given how beautiful relationship had blossomed from the chaos.

Now whilst Novel and Dutiron couldn't be told about the newest litter, that didn't mean to say that there was no need to spread the news further. They were in a pack and more importantly had family that would surely love to hear the news. Hopefully anyway, she had no idea how the children would react though they certainly needed to know, perhaps the sooner the better so it didn't seem they had tried to keep anything from them. "I think soon" She responded, though she refrained from warning him how badly Song's children had once taken the news of new siblings, that goofy grin completely destroying a chance of any seriousness.
