It was time. One litter of her own was enough for her to have learnt the signs of labour but even that first terrifying time she had of course realised what was happening. She was calmer this time (or at least as calm as you could be in the situation) knowing that the pain, each contraction it was all perfectly normal. Frith was never far these days, and she would let out a brief bark for her mate, knowing he would soon be on his way. Song had been there too to guide her through the last labour though where her sister was she had no idea now. She would be fine though she told herself, instincts and that additional knowledge combining to see her through just as well as it had last time. It would be a while yet though before the first pup showed his or her head and she would pace, concentrating upon her breathing as she waited for the labour to progress.

Novella was very much correct in her assumption of his close proximity, he'd barely let her get out of his sight the last couple of days. They were both quite sure that she was ready to pop at any moment, and that day he had sought out Varda to bring his mother some food so he could stay closer to the den. Even this short trip would be too much. He wouldn't even make it to his Daughter's side before the needy bark caught his attention, and with haste he returned to her side empty handed. Not that she would be looking to consume nay food for the next several hours at least. With the sound in her voice he had no trouble assuming by this time the next day mother and new children would happily be introduced and resting.

He'd find her pacing outside the den, though inside was roomy there was definitely no room for that inside. His steps were quick to bring him to her side, though he'd attempt to keep his cool exterior it was likely inside he was panicking more than Novella. His features would find her neck, wanting nothing more than to breathe her in and offer comforting nuzzles. This would be the most difficult part of the pregnancy, and he had no envy for what his wife had to do. He'd seen the pain on her face the first time, and was reminded of the regret he felt for putting her through this. Not that there had been any hesitation in making them.. "How are you my love?" He'd ask her with his tender touch, wanting nothing more than to make her as comfortable as he could.
if i haven't replied to you in a while, remind me [here]

It wouldn't take Frith long at all to reach her and it would bring a small smile to her features as the man joined her. "Alright. It's still only early stages." He had probably seen that fact for himself, and would likely remember just as well as she had but all the same she felt the need to point that out. Truthfully she would have been perfectly fine leaving him to his own oblivious devices for a little while longer, though something told her that Frith wouldn't have appreciated her leaving it till the last minute and his support to be honest was of course always welcomed.

As time stretched on, the labour would progress, how long it had been she truly couldn't be certain but the pups were getting closer and closer to making their appearance in this world. She had moved inside and settled down as best as she could in the den and as pain worsened and pushing began the first of the litter would eventually make his way into the world. Hastily Novella set to work upon cleaning the child before gently guiding him into place at her stomach.

The second pup would be the last of the litter it seemed, a tired calm now allowed to fall over the den as she cleaned and nudged the smaller, darker girl to join her brother. No wonder her bump had been smaller, only two pups this time and both far smaller than Aslan had been. They were just as perfect though, and weary eyes would watch them with the similar look of amazement she had once studied Aslan, Varda and Herne with.

She would greet him calmly, assuring him that the birth was still far off and only the very beginning of her labor had begun. He would have been upset had she not called for him so early, he was determined ot be with her for every single step even if he was only there for her moral support. Their nerves were much less obvious this time, and even though anything could have gone wrong still Frith had every confidence in his wife. He'd continue to nuzzle her affectionately, and after an impossible amount of pacing he'd convince her to try and settle down in the den.

She was obviously uncomfortable, as birth was anything but. She'd find herself settling though and eventually through much struggle and pushing, the first of the litter would be welcomed to their family. A tiny little boy, pale like his mother and just as beautiful. He'd fall in love in an instant, and found he couldn't take his eyes off the boy. Though as Novella struggled with the next child Frith was there to talk her though and their effort would be met with the appearance of a second pup. Dark like himself, and just as gorgeous as the first.

They seemed so much smaller than the first litter, and as Novella relaxed he realized this was it. Two perfectly healthy little babies, just as amazing as their first. He'd kiss his wife softly before turning his features to the little bundles at her side, content to watch them with her forever. "They're perfect, just like you." He'd whisper as he nuzzled her tenderly.

For a moment the proud mother would lift her gaze to Frith as he ventured closer once more, kissing her and complimenting their beautiful children. The first half of the compliment she would of course agree with though the latter was slightly less acceptable to her. She couldn't have done this without him obviously and the humble woman had never been able to boldly agree with any compliments that Frith bestowed upon her. "No." She would correct him simply, looking once more to the two pups. "They are perfect though."

This was a moment she would treasure. Even a year on from their birth she was still able to recall the tiny forms of the newborn Aslan, Varda and Herne. They would surely want to meet their siblings. She wasn't fully certain she would be able to stay awake for the visit though she fought to keep her eyes open now, still focussing upon the two children at her side. They needed names as well before their older siblings could properly meet them. "We should name them now."

The newborn prince would feel the different air and surroundings as he was expelled from his safe cavern of warmth that he had known throughout his entire life. Small gasps and whines would be emitted as he squirmed around on the ground, subconsciously directing himself towards his mother's stomach. The ivory boy with strange brown markings knew nothing other than the need for the warmth that his mother had provided for him always. Fate Destruction found the warming solace of his mother's stomach as his jaws snapped up and then down, suckling from his mother's breast as he found the peace of the company of his family.

It wasn't often he was able to give a compliment to his true love that didn't get struck down, even now as she had birthed their two beautiful pups she would correct him. Ever humble the compliment would shift to their children and he would not argue any longer, even if she didn't believe him he wasn't going to stop offering what he thought of her. He'd lean into her softly, knowing that she had to be tired the her ordeal, but still half expecting the statement that would follow their admiration of what they'd created. They needed to be named before they could be introduced properly to the pack, and their family.

He actually hadn't even thought of names yet, and his features would shift back to Novella quite obviously clueless. "You know, I haven't really thought of that yet." He couldn't help but to lean in and nuzzle the tiny forms that held closely to their mother's side. "Have you any ideas?" He'd go on to ask curiously.

There was a chance that if her sister hadn't already beaten her to honouring their parents by naming children after them that Novella may well have considered Novel and Dutiron as possibilities. Perhaps it was for the best though that such a thought couldn't be a real option, the wound from losing them still rather fresh. It may have been a nice idea though certainly one that would be too painful. It wasn't fair either, Frith had never suggested naming one after his mother and she had been gone for longer and the sole person in his life for so long she was surely more important in his world than any of Novella's family could have really been. She was spoilt in comparison, so many people to turn to, if anyone deserved the honour it was surely Frith's mother.

No such ideas would spring to mind though, far more joyous themes than ghosts running through her mind as she attempted to think of something that might work. Sleep was perhaps a more welcome idea, though she couldn't and wouldn't allow herself to rest just yet. "What about Luck for this little lady?" She suggested, gently nosing the tiny, dark girl before glancing up to see what Frith thought of the name and of course if he had an idea for their new little boy?

Maybe one day Frith might think to honor his mother by naming one of his offspring after her, but not this day. It seemed Novella didn't think of it either. Though what she said would make him think of something rather cute, "That sounds beautiful, and what about Fate for her brother?" The duo sounded rather nice, he'd find himself smiling down at them with the purest of love. They were gorgeous. "You should get some rest though, Aslan and Varda can wait to meet them." There would be plenty of time to enjoy their new bundles, but right now he was sure Novella was completely ready to be asleep.

He wouldn't leave her though, nestling in beside her he'd offer his shoulder as a pillow for her, and he'd start gently humming for her and the new babies. A simple tune his mother had hummed to him many times during his years with her. He'd nuzzle Novella tenderly before kissing her softly, still amazed at the family they'd created.

"Fate and Luck." She would smile fondly as she gazed upon the pair, softly repeating their new names. They definitely worked rather nicely together, a good choice. As for the elder children, a part of Novella wished to remain awake for them, allow them to meet their siblings now though she certainly couldn't deny the weariness and Frith too must have noticed it and recalled the advice to let her rest. "Just for a little while." She murmured, a little nap to recover some energy. Settling against her mate, she wouldn't put up much of a fight. The tune was one she had caught him humming a number of times. Never had she learnt the origin though it was still pleasant to hear. It may have fallen on deaf ears for the babies for now, though she still appreciated it, the sound slowly fading as sleep found her.
