Summer. Summer meant heat, not just for the weather, but for her as well. She felt a bit awkward around her boys now, not that they would understand the scent just yet. But just in case, she had rolled herself in some crushed lavender to try and hide the scent of it, little purple flowers still clinging to the fur along her back. She seemed cautious in her steps around the mangrove, not afraid but just more... careful. She had never erm, attracted any men before, nor did she want to. But there was a bit of fear in that, hence the lavender. But what would her boys think of her changed scent? Did that mean that -- oh goodness no she didn't want to give them the talk yet. They weren't even a year old! She shuttered at the thought, her mind jumping everywhere. She felt scatter brained, and like the world was too hot around her. Jumping over some of the mangrove roots, she settled herself on the damp sand, her back pressed against the short stump behind her.

The weather really was getting warmer, and she hoped that her sons weren't melting into piles of fluff and sweat just yet. She knew that they weren't used to it, it didn't get as warm up in the North as it did here. But they have plenty of places to go swimming, so that helped, right? Amalia sighed, her russet face dropping towards the earth. She felt bad about moving them all here, and while she knew that the young were quite flexible, she knew that the first Summer was going to be hard on them. Perhaps they should make a little trip up North once the heat really gripped the lands... They would probably like that, although the thought of running into Vereux made her stick her tongue out. Her mind went back to the conversation that she had with her wife, and she knew that it was wrong to keep them away from him. She just couldn't stand it, not one bit. Part of her knew that it wasn't his fault, but most of her just wanted to keep her family safe. They were here now, with her mother and some of her siblings, and she didn't want to leave. Maybe she should call that meeting with Leo, to let them meet more of her side of the family. That would cheer them up, right?

An Autumn child, Archelaus hadn't yet experienced the warmer seasons. Of course in the North it may have been more bearable though here in the South the boy was feeling incredibly sluggish and overheated. Had he known what a snowman was, he would have thought himself at risk of melting like one and potentially shared this fact. Instead though the uncomfortable child wandered around hoping to find somewhere that might relieve him at all from the weather. The trees gave some shade, though certainly not enough.

As it stood, so uncomfortable himself, Amalia had absolutely nothing to fear, caught up in his own world Archie hadn't really paid much attention to the changing scent or even the attempts to cover it up with lavender. He'd even cast the thoughts of his father from his mind, and certainly hadn't decided whether he would talk to Amalia about the fact he was back. Did he want the truth on the matter? Why he had left, why he wasn't here now?

On he plodded attempting to find some cooler area to settle, the tree that offered him the most shade, a pool of water that might be somewhat refreshing to dip his paws into. Each spot he found wasn't quite satisfying enough though, he wanted snow, a harsh winter anything to get away from this warmth.

It wasn't too long before the scent of one of her boys tickled her nose. Perking up, she looked around the base of the tree to see that Archie was sitting there. A smile sprang across her face, and she hopped over the raised roots to appear in front of him. "Archelaus!" she called out happily, pushing her tiny frame against his massive body. It wasn't often that she got to talk to the quiet boy, he seemed to always be off doing something. But now, she had found him! Great! It was only then that she realized that her tiny little bunny tail was wagging, probably wafting all of her heat scent towards him. She cleared her throat, pulling back slowly as she beamed up at him. Hopefully the lavender on her coat was enough to keep him distracted. "How are you doing? I feel like I haven't talked to you for ages," she said, a slight note of sadness lingering in her tones. She tried to hang out wither her growing boys as much as possible, but they were all over the place and really hard to track down! Really, she needed to tie a small animal on them or something so that she could track them down. No matter how much she tried to hunt them all down, they were off running around or hiding from the heat. The sun was baring down on her pale back, but she loved to feel the heat on her skin again. Perhaps it was partly her fault that they were all so distant, this was a lot to take in after all. "Wanna go for a swim or something?" she asked, her blue eyes growing wide as she basically gave her son big ol' puppy dog eyes. She didn't want to see them grumping around, it was a beautiful day!
