She lounged lazily in the shade, dusk settling over the land. Night would soon be upon her. Lips curled into a devilish grin. Things were about to change for Alacritis. Things were about to get a whole lot worse. The rage that iced her veins was a constant presence that lay quietly just beneath the surface, just waiting for the moment to strike. She had left the meeting at Abaven with a plan, a plan that she would soon put into action, but first she needed to find Kylar again. She needed his help, as much as she hated to admit it. She would need his help in bring down those who thought they could stand up against her.

Tail twitched in anticipation. Eyes danced with merciless delight. They could not be rid of her so easily. As she lay on her side, a cool breeze toying with her pelt, she allowed the silence to envelope her, to whisper sweet nothings to her. Her mind churned restlessly. Her reign of terror did not come to an end until she said so.

He stalked after her scent after his meeting at taken place, anger burning in his eyes. Damn woman made his wife pissed and his son swear. And all because he was doing what he pack was meant to do? Hackles raised as he saw her lounging about, like nothing at all had happened. He growled as he stalked towards her, teeth gnashing together. "What the hell do you think you are doing? Barging in like that? When have I ever done anything like that before?" He roared at her, pacing back and forth in front of her. "How dare you accuse me of your children's blood on my paws? You know how my packs work, how my whole system is ran! Do you expect me to turn on all my views because of a friendship? What if me and your sons pack had gone to war, would you not aid your own blood?" He said with a last growl. He glared at her for a moment longer before his head lowered, a sigh pushing through his lips. "It was a hard enough decision to make, Cataleya. My wolves were not to be used unless they had to be. You of all wolves should understand how Abaven works. I thought you of the wolves of Alacrita would know that." His voice was growing weary, but his hackles were still raised.

His growl would have her gaze lifting. Perhaps she should have gone home. He would explode causing her brows to lift in faint surprise. So she had pushed her sweet Bass to the breaking point. It was about fucking time. He would rant, pacing like a caged animal. Still, she did not move, did not say a word, just simply watched. His words came as no surprise. She knew exactly how Abaven worked. Perhaps she had just expected too much of him, of heir friendship. Only when he fell silent, still fuming though rapidly losing his will to stay that way, she would rise. Muscles moved languidly as she stalked towards him, her gaze predatory. He just didn't know.

"Oh Bass," She would murmur, fangs flashing in the light of the setting sun. "You are my friend. My pack members are not my friends. My children are not my friends, my bastard of an ex husband is not my friend. You are my friend." Would he finally understand just what it meant to be her friend? "You are the one friend I would lay down my life for." she would hiss, lips peeling back in a snarl. Rage exploded in her chest, her control hung on only by a string. "And you threw that back in my face. Did you bother to inform your friend? Did you bother to put your friend before the alliance of another pack that isn't work the air they breath? Did you bother to help your friend?" And she would finally snap. Her voice rose to a vicious snarl, she would seek to close the distance between with unhurried steps. Jaws snapped shut, and if he didn't move, she hoped to be close enough that her fangs would caress the tip of his nose.

Her inner demon reared its ugly head. Saliva pooled in her mouth, his scent mingling heavily in her nostrils. she had tasted his blood before. But now, now she craved it. Ever since she had taken that bitch down in front of her entire family. "I am going to rain down hell." She promised, her voice falling her a soft murmur. "The only question is, will you get burned too?" her crown would tip to the side, her question sounding oddly innocent but her eyes gleams with a hunger he had probably never seen before. They thought she was bad before....

She didn't move as he roared, as he ranted and raved. But when his head lowered, he saw her paws move towards him. Head snapped up as his gaze searched her own, seeing the hunger grow in her eyes as she spoke. Confusion wracked his mind, what did she mean? His lips curled away from his teeth as they faced each other down. "Name one time you have showed me that kindness. And how could I warn you when you were off fighting someone to the death?" He tossed back at her, shoulders squaring off as they stood chest to chest. "Unlike you, I am close to my pack and my children, and would lay down anything for them. I have been close to Ebony since the day that I started Abaven, I could not turn them away because your pack members threatened to bring their family down. I stick up for family, above all else. I had thought that you understood that, being a mother yourself." He spat, easily pulling his head back to avoid her jaws. Oh so she wanted to play dirty, did she? "You are different than I had thought. I thought that there was goodness in your heart, but I see now that all you want is destruction. I am all for fighting for what is right, to protect those around you, but for pure blood lust is madness. It is something that will bring you down on your knees," He backed up from her, golden eyes looking her up and down. There was only darkness in her heart, where before he had thought that there was something in her that was light. But maybe it had all been something that he had put there, something he had made up. She went on to insult Ebony, which drew a humorless laugh from his maw. "They had the guts to stand for themselves, and you think they are a waste of space? Its about damn time that packs stop cowering in fear from things that ail them. Instead an alpha greater than you or I could ever be found the courage to march his wolves into your land and take down you pack, while you left your daughter to fight in your place. According to my wolves, you didn't even make an appearance. Too busy killing off sick wolves?" He asked her, his voice sickly sweet.

Bass lowered his head, although there was a flare of sadness in his eyes when she asked if he was going to be burned down as well. "I will fight for my pack and family until my last breath, even if that means I have to take you down with me. I don't want to do this, I don't want more blood on either of our paws. You don't have to do this, Cataleya." He knew that his words would fall on deaf ears, but it was worth a try. He sighed again, his head shaking back and forth. "You are going to get burned by all of this sooner or later Cata... and if that's not me warning you than I don't know what it is. You're not the only wolf with a back bone any longer. I just wish you could see that."

She was never meant to have friends, she realized that now. At least not a friend that was as good as Bass. Perhaps if she had a heart, a soul, they could have been friends, better friends. But she was not put on this earth to be good, or kind, or help the needy. No, she had been put on this earth to understand the cruelty of the world and to make sure the entire world knew it too. He would mention her battle with the Pantheon bitch, and she was rather surprised he even knew about it. When he spoke of how Arcanum was going to bring Ebony's family down a brow would lift. Really? Huh, how odd. She must be really badass if she could plan to destroy a family without even knowing about it. He had thought there was goodness in her heart. A scoff would leave her lips. Goodness? Please.... The day they had met she had just finished dismantling a total stranger.

Her thought her ways would only bring her to her knees one day. Perhaps he was right, one day it would catch up with her, but for now, it only made her an even more dangerous opponent. He spoke of her daughter, of her absence at the war, and he would question her whereabouts. A bubble of laughter would roll off her tongue, amusement brightening her gaze. Killing off sick wolves, it was comical really, because he just had no idea. When his head would lower, a sadness dulled his gaze. You don't have to do this. It sounded as though he was trying to talk her off the edge, to bring her back from the edge of darkness. But she was already there. A warning fell from his pale lips, telling her what she already knew.

"It's not about backbone, it never was." She would shake her head slowly, as though she was disappointed with a child. Her tones were cool, detached, uncaring. "There is good and bad everywhere you look. It is the balance of life. And when you disrupt that balance, bad things happen." She would purr. Her words were a promise, a warning. She was an unstoppable force, pack or no pack. All they had done was unleash the demons she held within the borders of her pack, it was them who unleashed the hell she controlled. Too bad they would find that out too late. Turning away from him with a sickening smile, she would leave, never to lay eyes on the face of her friend. No, the next time she saw him, it would be with him as her enemy.
