(Set after This)

He trotted from their shared den, still stepping along the clouds. Gravity and sense seemed to fail him as he moved along the beach, humming their mother's lullaby as he did. The tone was gentle, hardly audiable but he hummed it nonetheless. It had always been a song that was able to calm his energy spikes, but he sang it now more so becuase it reminded him of the previous night. He had used the song in hopes to calm Gaia's sorrow, and he hummed it now to calm his own aching heart. It had only been a few hours since they had parted, and already he missed her so terribly. Her perfume was imprinted within his fur, and he could smell her everywhere.  Her warmth had finally seemed to seep from his skin, and all he felt was cold. But still, onwards he sung, trotting towards the den they had shared last night.

Glacier had already been told, he already discussed his heart ache and passion, and now he didn't know what to do. For the first time in Voltage's life, he was unsure of the future. It was like the image he had once seen was shattered, and the fallen pieces created something he never knew could exist. It was beautiful, it was magnificent, but it still confused him oh so terribly. He missed her, and it was crazy. How could one day, one embrace, one night cause him to feel so scattered and yet so absolutely perfect at the same time.

Oh he missed her.

With a gentle sigh he paused before the storm proofed den he and his sister shared on the nights when the storms got a little too rough, and he wondered what would become of it. What would happen if he brought Gaia into their world, he would spend his nights with her. No longer would he den hop on different nights, cuddling up to a family member of choice. He would spend his nights with Gaia, and his days. He couldn't devote his entire existance to his family anymore, if he brought her into their world, his affections would be split. He heaved a sigh, turning stormy eyes towards he ground as he contemplated all of this. His entire world had changed, had shattered and brought together again, had felt so wrong and so right at the same time.

But oh, did he miss her.

There was no way he could let her go now that he knew of her, that he felt her embrace and her warmth. This would have happened sooner or later, he assumed, but oh...he wasn't sure what he was to do. Voltage felt so different from what he had known before. With another sigh he ended his song, shaking his head and moving towards the outlier den once more, to see if her scent lingered still.

She had been watching him as he strode on the beach, the scent of a strange woman clinging to his fur. Hidden in the shadows, Voltage didn't even pick up on her hiding spot as he gazed at their shared den. So had he found himself a little wench, then? She bristled, but bit back a growl. So that is where he had been all of this time. She had wanted to find him, to ask him if she could start a battle training thing, but he had not been here. She had half the mind to go off and find him, but alas she held back. Seems like she had been doing that a lot for her dearest brother lately. He was humming a song that pulled at her memories, yet she didn't care to try and place it. She didn't care. She was having a hard time trying to reign in her emotions, as they flickered passed her ember eyes like a million flapping wings, one hardly staying long enough to show its true colours. She felt hurt and betrayed, and angry. But anger was the easiest emotion for her to focus on, even if it was only a little sliver, it was better than feeling pain.

As the yellow marked alpha made his way away from her, slowly Serefina removed herself from her hiding place, appearing before him. Her shoulders were raised as well as her hackles, and yet there was a mist in her eyes, killing the fire she had trying to focus on. "Are you going to leave me now, for her?" she said softly, a dangerous whisper as her tail curled over her back. Through her hurt shone jealously, even though she knew nothing of what happened, it was easy enough to put the pieces together. "Who will take care of me, or be there for me? You're the only one that has even been close to me. Being with a woman will change all of that. I... I don't know what I would do without you." Her head snapped away from him, lower lip quivering as her form grew ridged. Her chest heaved in and out as she felt her heart start to flutter, panic making her breath come out in shaky gasps. She couldn't lose him. She would surly die without him to hold her together.

It wouldn't be untrue to say Voltage wasn't surprised when Serefina appeared infront of him, or that he actually jumped. His mind was so much on other things that he had failed to even notice her there, or her arrival, and that had never happened before. It hurt, that very thought, he didn't want things to change. He watched as she emotion shuddered across her face, as it flickered with the colors of her flame, and he knew the same was shining in his own eyes. He couldn't allow for anything to change, not really, but things would. When she began to speak, his heart felt like it was about to break, and he had to take a quick breath to hold it in.  "Sere..." He whispered, not to interupt her but rather to show that he was listening. And he was. Everything she said was something that he had thought of rather recently.

With a gentle shake of his head he took a single step forward, raising his paw to motion her closer. He wanted to hug her, hold her close to him, just as he had always done, but he knew that when she got like this it was hard to get close at times.  "Who said I was leaving? I don't want anything to change." He said softly, his voice tight as he looked upon his sister.  "But it will, things will change, and they have too. Your siblings are finding wolves they want to bring into their lives, and I am no different. But no one, no one will ever replace you, or shadow your place in my heart. You are still me very best fire princess.." He couldn't let this change their relationship, or his place in Serefina's life. He couldn't let either of them go, and he wouldn't allow it.

"No matter what, sister, you are always my number one. And I will always be here to help you. I don't know why you'd think any different." He said with a small but sad grin, shifting closer to her again, wanting nothing more than to embrace her, to show her physically that he would always be here. Always, for her.  "I will never leave you alone, Serefina. Not again. I've already lost too much time without you..."

Her name was whispered from his lips, but she ignored the soft caress that it tried to offer her. She was beyond hurt, and positivity green with envy. As she turned her head away from him, she saw him motion her closer with a wave of his paw, but stubbornly she remained in place. He should know by know that she was not touchy feely when she was like this. More like sink her teeth into something, that kind of feely. But he spoke, his words causing her built up tears to stream down her fire marked face. A broken hearted sob left her mouth, head flashing back towards him as she bore her teeth. "You walked passed me twice without so much as noticing me. You're scent is so familiar to me that I can pick it up from miles away, and yet... You didn't even see me. Have I already become nothing to you?" she cried out at him, bodice quivering as she stepped backwards from him. She didn't want his touches or comfort, she wasn't done speaking yet. " And I will not accept things changing. You are MY Voltage and no one can take you away from me, and yet this stranger has consumed so much of your mind they you don't even notice me. I will not be invisible to you!" Serefina's voice was accusing, still strong through her sons. Head shook furiously, trying to wrap her mind around all of this. "You won't be with me every day if she's here. We will never again share a den. I will be alone in the dark, just like I always feared. Alone. All because you found someone better." For the first time in her life, Sere felt completely and utterly lost. Another heart wrenching sob broke free, her breath shuttering as her whole bodice shook.

"You've changed already, so don't tell me that you will always be here. You will have a wife and kids, and I will be no more than a distant memory. How can you say that you won't leave me alone when I can already see it in your eyes. Your longing for her." She knew Volt too well, hr could hardly hide a thing from him. "Why would you be thinking of me, when you could be with her? I'm just me, after all. I cannot provide you with those things. You will slowly slip away from my grip, and then I will have no one to cling to. You're the only one that gets me, and I'm nothing without you." Her voice died down to a whisper, ember eyes as wet as her cheeks with unshod tears. Still her face was stained as she tried to hold herself together. But she couldn't do it, not without him. In a desperate need to let out some air, her flame marked head tipped back as she let out a scream of agony and anger. Her body shook with such a strong force then, and she could no longer look st het brother. "I will make this easier on you..." she whispered, turning and walking away

Voltage would watch her meltdown, as if it were all in slow motion. Like a plane crash, or a train collision that he couldn't stop. All he could do was stand there, take in each and every word, emotion and thought that she bellowed before his face. And for a moment he believed each of them. Heart ached in its bony imprison as he stared at her, lungs tightened to the point that it burned to breathe. Had he truley forgotten her? Had he allowed Gaia to take his every thought that he had become unaware of her presence? No, no, okay...maybe? But Voltage had been known to be distracted before and she hadn't said a word. Was it only because he bore the perfume of another female, someone that stood outside of their family lines? He would listen to every word, his ears pulled back and pressed against his skill. He had changed....had he? Sure, he wasn't so much the senseless child he had once been. The responsibility of his siblings had matured him, but he hadn't changed that much. Voltage would always be Voltage.

With a whimper he would step towards her again, knowing that she would just pull or step away again. Pain would lace his viens and he would jerk each time she pulled away, as if he were scorched by her flame. But he couldn't say anything, not yet. Perhaps it was because he was too stunned by her emotion on this, as if it's something that had been on her mind for a long time. And he thought, what would he do if she found herself a someone....if she found her destiny in a wolf he didn't know, and she floated on clouds that he couldn't reach? And in that moment he felt a fraction of her pain (for surely a thought would hurt less)

With agentle sigh he shook his head, parting his jaws to argue and agree and try to calm her flames. But then she said those words that had stormy eyes snapping open wide and tears springing up to burn them. With agony he'd reach out to her again, watching as she turned to walk away from him. And, as always, anger flared to cover his pain. With a growl he leap forward, moving to jump ahead of her.

"Serefina!" He barked, power in his voice as he stared at her with hard but painfilled eyes. "You've spoken and I listened. Give me the chance to say my piece. You must respect and love me enough to allow me that, right?" His voice would soften as he stepped forward again, but he wouldn't reach for her. He hurt too much, stinging from her outburst, to allow for that.

"I apologize...that I hadn't noticed you there. Your scent is always there for me, sometimes I miss when it's fresh. But please, believe me, from the moment my eyes open in the morning, to the time they close, I look for you. I will always look for you. Nothing will come between us." He would smile, weakly, before his frown returned to his lips. He still stood tall, but he seemed...deflated. "Her name is Gaia. I met her only yesterday, and she is blind and broken hearted. I brought her home to spend the night because it was too late to let her go home alone...I am seeing her again, but she has family in her pack. I wont be asking her to come here. Even when I was with her, I thought of you all. I couldn't spend a night away from home, because I couldn't bare a night away. I spoke so much of you all, because you are my everything." He looked at the ground then. How could he feel like floating and sinking, all at once?

"Fire is your element, Serefina. You depend on the heat to survive comfortably. Locha the sea, Astrea the stars....but for me, it is not the lightning I was named for." He lifted his eyes to her then. "I depend on your energy, your warmth, your love. I cannot bare to see another day if it is not there. Nothing will come between us, I will never forget you and I will never ignore you. Because you are my life. You and all our siblings. Even if our family expands, you will still be my everything." With a hard, and yet still gentle gaze, he would forever look at her tearful face, his brows knitted. "Please, Serefina, believe me. I've already lost too much time without you that I couldn't control, there is no way I would allow something I can to lose me any more."
