An anxious sigh passed the woman's lips. Several feet ahead of her was the heavy scent of a pack border. She had tried so hard ever since she left her father to live on her own, but she could feel herself getting more and more slender. Her ribs were beginning to show through her pale coat. They probably would have been more prominent than they were if she didn't have her thick coat to hide them. She got by okay, but she certainly wasn't able to hunt well enough to really even support herself. She wasn't sure why a pack would even want to take her in with her disability and narrow skillset, but perhaps she would find one willing to take a chance on her.

That's what she hoped as she took a few careful steps forward to move closer to the pack's border before letting out a howl to call for someone from this pack to meet her here. Her voice was calm despite the nervousness deep in her bones. She kept repeating to herself to be polite, use her manners, don't accidently bite other's heads off for comments on her blindness. If they said no it wasn't the end of the world. Sighing again, she settled onto her haunches, sightless blue eyes looking out into nothing while she waited for the sound of pawsteps and scents of strangers.

Frith couldn't spend all of his time with his slowly recovering wife, but he did try. She was napping on his paws, Fate and Luck tucked neatly beside her as the family enjoyed an afternoon nap. A content smile would linger on his lips before hearing the call at his border. He'd sigh softly as he disentangled himself from the others within the den, and quietly he would make his way from the entrance of the den to the border. Not much time would pass, he could easily make his way to the borders from the den in only a few long minutes.

Bicolored gaze would be met with the pale form of a stranger. He couldn't deny her unique beauty, and at his approach would smile softly, curiosity on his features. He wouldn't make any special note of her cloudy eyes as he came to stand before her on the opposing side of the border. "Greetings, stranger. Frith Destruction, Author of Threar. What brings you to my boarders?"

It wouldn't take long before she heard movement up ahead of her and she would rise to her paws to greet whoever it was. She let her ears follow the noise and let her head follow suit so that she was looking in his direction even if she wasn't able to focus on him directly. His scent and voice told her that he was indeed male and by his words she gathered that he was the alpha here and seemingly friendly. That was good news anyway.

Being mindful of her actions, Kalliope dipped her head politely in a small bow. "Hello, Frith. I'm sorry to have bothered you. My name is Kalliope, though you're welcome to call me Kalli if you choose... I came to you because I'm looking for a pack to call home. To be completely honest I don't know much about you or your pack, but I figured maybe if I took a stab in the dark I might get lucky." She smiled a little and shifted a tad uncomfortably. She wasn't sure if he had guessed her blindness by now or not. Some wolves picked up on it quickly, others didn't. "I should tell you that I am completely blind. I was born like this so it's not something new to me. I get around fairly well and can hunt a little as well as defend myself fairly well. The woman that helped raise me taught me a few things about herbs and healing as well when I would sit still long enough for her to do so." She smirked a little as she thought back to the challenge that she was as a child.

He was still very much wary of the strangers that came to his border, but as Novella recovered slowly he was beginning to open up slightly more. At least this she wolf would show him a proper amount of respect. Frith still wasn't sure what to make of Frost, but already this she wolf impressed him more. She would give him a direct and thought out answer as he asked her purpose. His grin would widen slightly as her own became more visible. He wouldn't quite expect what she had to say next, though he appreciated not having to pry out her specialties from her. It sounded like she dabbled in all areas of life despite her disability. She'd also kept herself alive alone for this long. There were no other scents on her pelt. "It sounds like you have much to offer the pack, do you have interest in expanding these skills if given the chance?" He'd ask in one last question before he made a final decision.

When the alpha went on to ask about her willingness to learn she felt a little relieved. He wasn't turning her away yet so that had to be a good sign, right? The fact that he not only wasn't turning her away, but also said she seemed to have a lot to offer blew her away. She was so used to others first responses being that of sympathy or offers to help that his responding to her like she was anyone else meant so much. She could already tell she was going to like it here... that is if he agreed to let her stay.

She nodded and replied, "Of course. I really just haven't had anyone to teach me more up to this point. My father and my adoptive mother of sorts taught me all they could of course, but they were never pack wolves themselves and really only knew basics and still had to figure out how to teach a blind pup, you know." She smiled and her tail wagged slowly behind her. "But yes, I am eager to learn and I will do anything I can to help out. It might take me a little longer to do things than most, but I usually figure it out."

She really responded to his words well, while there was little emotion lingering within her gaze he could see a hopefulness in her expression. She would nod in reply, though even if she'd offered a simple 'yes' the brute would have happily accepted her into Threar's ranks. She was eager to offer a little snippet of her history, going on to tell him quite professionally that she had every intention of learning and helping out where ever it was she was needed. He couldn't deny the feeling that she would be a valuable addition to their pack blindness or not. "Alright, Miss Kalliope, that's all I need to hear." He'd smile at her despite the she wolf not able to see the smile. The friendliness would still be evident in his voice however. "Welcome to Threar, you'll start off as a Prologue the general rank. Once you've concentrated your studied you may move on to a higher rank, or a more focused area." He'd tell her softly, moving back to allow her free access to Threar lands. For the first time he would ask if she needed help. "Let me know if you'd like a guide to take you through the lands," Though he would have asked any new member that much. "And don't be afraid to see me or my wife Novella if you find you have any questions." That seemed to be about it. "I look forward to seeing you at lessons."
