Her recent encounter with Baldur, a wolf who'd once stood beside her when she'd ruled Ebony, a wolf who she had strongly considered for her Jarl in fact, so soon after she'd gone restlessly wandering in search of guidance from the gods was both intriguing and to some extent expected. Of course the gods were just as capable of answering now as they'd always been but they had been so silent since she lost Yfir that it was interesting that they'd choose to send her Baldur. Why? What was she meant to do?

Clearly, though, it had been her effort to work her way back into the world as a warrior that had brought the gods' attention to her. Rather than return immediately to her cousin and the young Olympus wolf, she continued past the central lands they inhabited, going from the far south to the far north to continue the rigorous retraining she was applying herself to. She found herself at the site of the strange metal object - the ship, as she'd heard tell long ago that the beasts called humans had once created - she'd once encountered her aunt and cousins at, but they were nowhere to be seen - not unexpected. Even a god's miracle could not bring them back from where ever they'd gone, and she would not want them. They may be family, but they had abandoned the pack they'd been appointed to, the responsibilities and lives that depended on them, and their family, to run away. It was clear where Jaeger had gotten his sense of loyalty from...

She seated herself at the prow of the ship to stare over the icy lands. These were as the lands of her ancestors, lands that she would someday return to terrorize as the Finnvi had always done. The soft southern lands were... tolerable, in that there were weak wolves and packs that were ripe for capture and raiding and trade, but these, these were the lands she thrived in. The cold, the barren grace of the icy land, strengthened and hardened her. Yes, these lands would come to fear the Finnvi name once again.

Pacing along the base of the ship, Laufey searched for a way up. The brute couldn't remember the last time he'd been up this far north. He was used to the warmth of the west, but oddly enough the cold of the north appealed to him. There was much to see up here; the territories vastly different and many of them unexplored. By him at least. He'd have to fix that.

Finding a way up, Laufey took it. He leaped up onto the deck and started to investigate. Iced relics were scattered everywhere and the brute nosed and scratched at them in search of interesting things. He'd heard a rumor that there was a guy wandering around down south with a skull on his face. If it were true it was pretty cool. He kinda wanted a mask or something. It'd make him look like a badass. Maybe there was something here. How cool would it be if he found the skull of whatever creature made this big metal thing?

A scent on the breeze brought his head around and Laufey stared incredulously at the pointy end of the big metal thing. Katja? It couldn't be. He padded closer and the dark figure grew steadily more discernible. His voice rising to overcome the strength of the wind, he called, "Katja!"

The sound of her name drew her from her reverie, a familiar and much-welcomed voice calling for her. Well, well... perhaps the gods were smiling upon the Finnvi once again. She turned her head to bring into view the tall form of Laufey - Kapra's nephew and her cousin. Rising smoothly to her feet she moved to join him that she need not shout in return, though the much-shorter Finnvi needed to tilt her head to regard him. "Laufey Finnvi - the gods are good to me today to have brought to me my wayward cousin. It is good to see you again. You look to have done well for yourself in your travels." The boy - a boy no longer - had filled out since last she'd seen him, and the gangly edges of a yearling softened by muscle. He was almost bear-like now in comparison to the rest of their family, but he was still now as he'd been since Yfir undeniably a Finnvi. She could feel something of excitement, a fire in her chest that spoke of something coming together, the pieces of the gods' plan clicking into place. It was a good feeling, like stretching a muscle long unused.

Her voice, her mannerisms, they brought forward comforting memories. Even though it had been short-lived, the structure she'd provided in Yfir had brought him comfort. Laufey valued his freedom, but serving under a capable and respect-worthy leader had been just as rewarding. He'd enjoyed his time in her pack and he'd greatly appreciated how she'd brought him into her family. She'd made him feel welcome and he'd never forget that.

"I have," he rumbled proudly. Curious, he queried, "And how have you been these past seasons?" He was dying to know what had become of her after that wretched Olympus fae had huffed in and fucked things over. Laufey was curious about Kaprasius too--had the two Finnvis even stayed together?
