Ebony dipped paws shuffled behind her larger form until he emerged into the wider and more open space known as the Serpent Plains. He pleasantly inhaled a long breath of chilly air before letting out the stuffy air that had accumulated from his den. Ignoring the refreshing breezes that nipped playfully at his fur, he turned to look at the female whose intriguing fur shone in the beams. Now, in full light, he could truly look upon her unique colours and take in every detail of them. Because of this, he almost misheard her following question. Their conversation still remained on the same path topic-wise, although her query had led it from a dark and almost saddening discussion to a rather light one. Their chat began once more; was he once close to his mother? To be honest, it depended on what one defined "close" to be. He reckoned his mother passed away when he was season or two old. There were a few memories he could recall with his mother - exploring outside the den for the first time (which concluded with a healed injury), listening to stories about his father and sitting together for general pack meetings and announcements. Reflecting upon these memories, it didn't seem like he spent a great deal of time with her, which brought remorse to his current mood. After thinking about it, did it really matter if he hadn't spent much time with her? He slowly came to realise what truly made him close with his mother. On the day of her passing, so strong and distinct in his mind, he remembered letting loose his emotions and crying. No-one else had cried, not even Alvin. Was that what love was?

"Well, she left when I was pretty young so I never spent much time with her. I guess it's the love that truly matters; that's what made me close to her." His leafy gaze wonderfully twinkled in the remaining sunshine as he answered her inquiry with gentle warmth in his tone. All of a sudden, his words and voice came so naturally to him, which was surprisingly rather unusual. He enjoyed talking but it never came as an authentic "talent". Perhaps it was because he spoke with passion and honesty, another two virtues that mattered and made a difference.

His answer was vague in her opinion but he had answered it and so she would not pry farther into what his life had been before his mother had died. She gave a soft smile as her eyes lightened a bit. "Love is a strong power, I will give you that. My mother fought and died shortly after I left. My sister Caspia had told me that when I tried to convince my father to take me back." She held a stoical tone to her, keeping emotions out of the equation for her own sake. Part of her was on edge because of what had happened to her but because of the enlightening conversation between herself and Tinaro, she felt like she was at peace for once in her life. It felt nice. "Would you like to do something? Hunt or spar maybe?" She asked with eager eyes as she looked towards the mottle brown brute before her.

She related love to a power, which was rather peculiar to the yearling. So far he had felt familial love and in a way, heartbreak. There was more to the gripping emotion known as love, and he was yet to experience such a journey through his life. Perhaps he was closer to those moments than he realised, although he was yet to grow through his innocence upon reaching full adulthood. Already, he was starting to feel more mature, especially with this particular conversation with the girl. He acknowledged her words with a courteous nod before tuning into her following suggestion; what activity were they to do?

"You just had to pick my two favourite fields." the boy playfully purred with a sly grin tugging at the side of his features. His eyes rolled to the imperfect sky as he hummed a single note; his thinking face. Whilst slowly coming to a decision, his mind was torn apart between two things he equally enjoyed. He asked himself a simple question: Which skill was more important? Definitely fighting, although now that he thought about it, he really couldn't be bothered having a spar. Most of his energy had been drained into talking, rather than saving it for an exciting fight. A hunt would be more relaxed and it would give him extra time to socialise with the female. He liked hunting, despite it being one of his weakest areas. Today, he would improve, however, fighting would always rest at the top. "Let's go with a hunt, although I still wanna see how you fight, but another time, of course."

The young child would give a small smile as the boy who was quickly becoming her first and possibly only friend agreed with her in some way. He seemed to glow at the idea of hunting or fighting after suggesting hunting while making a point to add that he wanted to see her fighting skill set some point later in time. She would nod, glowing because hunting had always been her strong suit even if she preferred fighting to it. “Perfect!” She grinned as she let her nose take her away into her work. She looked around the lands as she tried to latch onto scents. There were a few voles to be caught and some more rabbit tracks. She turned to her hunting partner. “Voles or rabbits?” She asked, allowing him to pick the prey.

Although he had hoped to wander around and latch onto the first scent that wafted to his nose, she gave him a choice on the prey that they would be hunting, which was rather polite of her to ask. After a few moments, he uncovered the distinct scents of vole and rabbit and yet again, he was at another crossroad between the two. Both are equally mouth-watering and delicious, however, he eventually settled with rabbit because of their larger size, which meant they would have more to nibble on. Voles would easily scurry away with their small form, unlike rabbits that he hoped would make unchallenging targets.
"I choose rabbit," he simply announced with a satisfied lick over his lips. Jaws parted so he could inhale the many rabbit scents floating around him. His stomach agreed with his decision by giving a short gurgle; time to munch. "Where do you suggest we hunt? I've found multiple scents."
