Excitement course through her limbs, heart hammering at the thrill of the battle to come. Birna had sorely missed sparring and it felt like she hadn't done near enough of it since her brutal battle at the siege. Flush with victory she was confident that she would once again prevail and bring her triumph home to show her brother. Shame he was not able to attend but she could applaud his diligence to protecting Fiori's borders while allowing his sister this chance at festive frivolity. Locating a decent clearing Birna flexed her toes and stretched her limbs, psyching herself for the approaching duel. Her opponent was a wolf of similar age but vastly different in height. In fact the smaller fae was about half of Birna's towering height though the warrioress was not about to fall into the trap of underestimating her opponent. She'd dueled smaller enemies before and while she had the advantage of strength and weight the smaller wolves were often quicker and rarely needed to even stoop for the giantess' undersides. She'd have to take care to make sure she kept her ventral sides properly protected. She would tip her head to her opponent, signaling for the other to make the first move. So her opponent was a wolf larger than herself. Theisinova was not afraid however, despite being blind in her left eye. She would do just fine in this spar against the larger woman. She would focus her attention on the silver and white woman, taking note of her nod to signal her to make the first move. Fair enough then, Theisi thought. She had no trouble taking the opportunity to make the first move. Sometimes it was that move that could dictate how a spar would go.

Theisinova would prep her own defenses first, mirroring her opponent’s stance to a fault. Her legs would be spread, her weight evenly distributed across the limbs. Her muscles were tense, head lowered to align with her spine. Her neck was scrunched, shoulders rolled forward, and her hackles raised. Her tail was raised to also align with the spine to help aid her balance. Finally her eyes were narrowed, her ears pinned back and her jaws parted in preparation for her attack.

The female would move in, charging to close the distance between herself and the larger woman. She would kick with her hind legs to lift herself off the ground, shifting her weight as she did so to make sure her balance remained centered. Her right foreleg sought to wrap around her opponent’s neck while the left aimed to rest somewhere upon her {Birna’s} shoulder. Finally the femme would angle her head to her right, Birna’s left, to bite onto some of the flesh of the other woman’s cheek in hopes of a hold.

Birna readied herself, easing down her excitement as her calm and calculating nature took over.  Fur and hackles raised as her ears pinned tightly to her head.  Sky blue eyes narrowed as her hungry jaws parted, chin tucking as she lowered her head and tail to align with her spine.  Birna's shoulders rolled forward her neck scrunching back.  Her legs bent, spreading equidistant apart to lower her center of gravity.  Birna distributed her weight evenly across her limbs as her toes splayed, claws digging into the earth. As Thesinova charged so too would Birna, aiming to approach Thesi head on as she hoped to quickly close the distance between them.  Thesi raised her upper body her forelimbs successfully landing on Birna, the right foreleg landing across the base of Birna's left sided neck in front of her shoulderblades the left foreleg draping across the top of Birna's right shoulder. However, at the same moment Thesi would begin to raise her body Birna would attempt to utilize the momentum from her charge to throw the lower center of her chest into the exact center of Thesinova's chest in an attempt to not only bruise the area but use her superior weight to knock the other woman on her back.  Simultaneously, Birna's own forelegs would lift as she attempted to wrap them around Thesi's chest, aiming for her right foreleg to wrap under Thesi's left armpit her left foreleg aiming to wrap under Thesi's right armpit.  Birna hoped to use this motion to keep Thesinova from falling to far away from her as well as gaining two more points from which she could push her weight into her smaller opponent and get Thesinova on the ground. Birna's head would twist to her left as Thesinova's would twist to the right as Birna attempted to intercept and counter the other woman's bite.  Birna aimed to snap her jaws shut over Thesi's jaws and effectively shut the other woman's mouth.  The Xanilov hoped to rest her upper fangs in the flesh of Thesi's upper jaw midway between the nose and the face.  Her lower fangs sought to puncture the middle underside of Thesi's lower jaw, again midway between the front of the jaw and the corner of the mandible.  She sought a grip from which she could not only neutralize the other woman's attack but also control her head. Jade green eyes watched intensely as the wolves paired off and began to spar, the movement, the excitement, Skælingr could barely contain himself.  Gaze fell on a particularly large she wolf fighting a much smaller one and well, that didn't really seem fair to the large cat.  Surely it would be better for the woman to fight someone more her size.  Perhaps someone like him?  Ha!  The tiger cared little for wolf festivities or customs and the temptation to stir things up could not be contained.  As the larger she wolf ran for the smaller, coiled, striped legs would release as the great cat leapt at Birna, right foreleg reaching out in an attempt to slap the outside of the woman's right shoulder before he'd bound away through the trees.  What could be a clearer invite?  Come catch me…. if you DARE! "Speech"

bright orange caught her eye. Birna barely had time to turn her head as a massive orange paw lashed out and bopped her smartly on the shoulder. What… the fuck… was that? She stared in shock as a massive striped beast turned suddenly and hurtled back into the trees. Birna's gut sunk sharply, even though the creature had not harmed her her mind went straight to the pups. Could they be in danger? What was that thing? What did it want? Suddenly a spar didn't seem so important. She turned to her opponent. "My apologies but I must go investigate what that creature was and if it poses any harm to our fellows. The fight is yours. Perhaps in the future we can have a real match." In Birna's mind it was a dishonorable thing to give anything but ones all in a fight but there were times when a spar was simply a spar and greater needs had to be tended to. With a nod of respect the warrioress turned to pursue the beast that had tagged her barely a minute before
