Let's Go My Dear Watson!

Bored. Again. Day in and day out. The winter drove her to staying in the cave lately due to the driving blizzards and the icky slush that made her fur wet. She lied on her stomach, head on her paws as she stared wide eyed at the weather outside, as if pleading for it to stop so she could go do some more exploration. As if answering her thoughts, the wind outside died down to a slow crawl, the snow falling lightly now. Almost immediately she jumped up and charged outside, tail wagging a million miles a minute as she threw herself into the soft snow outside. Laughing and rolling around, she jumped up and leaped into the air, only to crash down into a bank of snow, and there she would begin to dig a little snow den.
Ashe dug and dug, snow flying behind her as if she were a mini snow plow. She had started creating her own mini flurry, and soon enough she had created a tunnel that opened up into a den beneath firm snow. Excited and with her tongue lolling out, she moved the snow outside about to make the entrance to her new snow den concealed so it wouldn't be easily found. And then, with excitement, she slid into it on her belly like a seal, turning around to stare out of it. She made not a sound, hoping that someone or something would come by and maybe she could surprise it like she was a trapdoor spider...but more friendly.

Elthia was wandering around and exploring this newfound place, for the moment her mind wasn’t thinking about her mother’s death and what it meant. All she was thinking about was the towering mountain that she had seen, it was so much bigger than her she had come across a lot of big things during her short time in this land. A scent would enter her nostrils, another wolf had been here recently who were they, were they friendly? She looked around there didn’t seem to be any other wolves in sight, she thought that they could be hiding. She would put her nose to the ground to try and follow the scent, she hadn’t tried tracking anything yet maybe this was a good time to start.

She was all nice and warm and cuddled up within her little snow den. Well, not exactly warm but...you get the point. She rolled over on her back, her little body wiggling into place as she began to paw at the snow. Bad idea. Almost immediately, the snow caved in around her, though it wasn't enough to crush her, it definitely swallowed her whole. Unable to react in time, she wiggled herself to the top, her head poking out and breaking free of it with a look of confusion. "Aaaawwww...my snow hole!" With an undeterred mindset, she was about to wiggle her way out when a scent caught. Turning her head, she looked in all directions until another figure caught her eye. If her tail wasn't buried, it would be wagging. "Hey you! Help me out here will ya'?" She called out, tongue lolling happily as she called enthusiastically to the pup.

Elthia’s gaze shifted from the ground where she was attempting to track a wolf to a place where the snow collapsed. A wolf’s head emerged from the place where the snow had caved, was this the wolf she was tracking? If so they had thought of a very clever hiding place, she tentatively started to walk towards them when they looked at her. They called out to her to come over and help, she ran over to the wolf her paws sinking in the thick snow. If there was anything she liked it was helping, what did they need help with she wondered. Did they need her help in digging them out of the snow, she cocked her head in curiosity. “Do you need help getting out of the ground?" she would ask inquisitively.

Ashelia eyed the girl with mild yet dramatic disbelief. She looked around her, then an idea struck her. If it wasn't obvious already, maybe she'd play it off. "Well, I dunno. It's kinda cool in here if ya know what I mean." She giggled a little at her own dumb joke, then nodded. "Yes, I need help. My paws are stuck so I can't dig myself out! And my fur is getting soooaaakkkeeeddd!" She wailed dramatically. If her tail wasn't covered and pinned with snow, it'd be wagging and probably sending a flurry of snow everywhere. But as it was, her poor tail couldn't do that now could it?

The woman made it obvious that she needed help, Elthia didn’t know why she was being so dramatic over getting her fur wet. But she decided to help them anyways, the small pup would approach the hole that the other wolf was stuck in and start digging as fast as her paws cared to. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth as she dug, she gradually dug far down enough that she figured the other wolf could at least get their front paws in use. She would back off a bit hoping that the other wolf could make their way from here,”What’s your name, I’m Elthia.” The pup would wag her tail at them.

Ashelia waited rather impatiently, not because the other girl was taking so long but because her nose had an itch that she was dying to scratch! She wiggled beneath the snow as the girl started to dig, Ashelia wiggling her shoulders upwards she slowly wiggled her paws upwards until she was able to claw her way out, her body rocketing out of the collapsed snow den and onto her face. However, that did not deter her!!! Pulling her face from the snow, she shook it off and turned around. Sparkling purple and blue flecked eyes staring excitedly at the stranger who asked her name. "Ashelia! Hiya! Who're you?? Thank you for the help, it was cold!" She stared at the other girl, fur on her head sticking up from the wet snow as her tail wagged. "Listen to me talk" 'and know my thoughts.' |

Elthia would observe as the other wolf pulled herself out of the snow to land on her face, the woman would say that her name was Ashelia. She liked that name it was pretty, they would also thank her for her help. Why were they thanking her she didn’t need to be thanked she would have done it anyways, she loved to help. “No problem, I love helping!” she would smile as she looked up at the woman. She hoped she was like her when she got older, growing up was dull. She would catch a glimpse of the woman’s wagging tail, the small pup would run stumbling through the snow to reach the wolf’s tail. She would jump up trying to catch the tail and bring it down to the ground, this was fun.
