He hadn't been trying to find his sisters. If that had been his goal, he most certainly wouldn't have tried to find them here - no, he'd expect to find them much further north. Truthfully, he'd been paying little attention to the scents that passed him by, for he was still very much a stranger to this part of the world despite wandering the eastern lands of Alacritia for nearly a year now. It was only because the scent of his sisters was so engrained in his mind that he even noticed it here. It sent a rust of excitement and hope through his massive frame. Could they have somehow come to look for him? Even if their paths had only crossed by chance, that didn't change the fact that he was thrilled to even catch the faintest glimpse of their presence.

A wide grin played on his features as he paced through the thicket, his wide paws folding the grass beneath him as he moved. He would trail after their scents eagerly, his tail waving in unabashed excitement behind him. Finally, deciding that he couldn't bear to wait for them longer - for who knew how far away they might be from him now - he would tip his tusked skull to the sky and let loose a loud call to them into the crisp afternoon air. It was an entertaining thought to imagine sneaking up on one of them, but he wanted more than anything to see their smiling faces as soon as possible.

Sabine was hot on the heels of an unwitting Sunniva. If at all possible she intended to sneak up on her sister and ambush her. Her efforts were all in fun, of course. Admittedly, the fun was tinged with just a hint of sibling rivalry and sprinkled with a liberal pinch of real aggression, but in the end she meant no real harm. No, all she hoped to accomplish was scaring the daylights (and maybe a little piss) out of her sister.

A familiar howl from behind stopped the giantess in her tracks and Sunniva, who was no more than a couple hundred feet ahead, was temporarily forgotten. "Oh," she breathed the utterance, her tone incredulous and more than a little dismayed. "You bastard." Immediately Sabine turned around and marched back the way she'd come.

In no time at all she found him. Not 100% sure of his exact location and loathing the idea of gracelessly smacking into him, the giantess stopped just out of Aki's reach in the hopes that he'd close the distance between them. A single eyebrow quirking, Sabine saucily parted with the words, "You, veli, are a hard man to find." He'd beaten her to the punch, taken away her chance at success, and you know what? That was okay.

She had been unaware of Sabine's presence in part due to her mind. Sunniva was thinking, thinking hard on the man she had found. The man she kept running into. A man whom fascinated her at every turn. Yet... her heart would sink with guilt. Here she was thinking of him instead of her family. The very mission she and Sabine had set out on. Sure they might never find their brother, but was it right to simply stop trying? To settle down and live a new life? The fact the thoughts had even crossed her mind made her feel worse. Like a traitor to herself.

It would not be Sabine who startled her, but Aki instead. She would hear the howl and give pause, her heart sinking in her chest. This was what she wanted... to find her brother. Same as Sabine... yet... why did she hesitate? Why did she not run to him? The girl would turn slowly, scenting Sabine now. She would follow after her sister, coming to stand a short distance away from both Aki and her twin.

But Sunniva rushed to neither of them. Her face wore a sad smile. Both glad to find them both well and yet, at the same time, so full of guilt that she could just kick herself in the face. "H-hey..." She would stammer awkwardly. No... this was not her usual way of conducting herself at all.

"Listen to me talk," 'but read my thoughts.'

While Áki could not imagine living without ever seeing his dear sisters again, he hadn't expected to see them quite so soon. And certainly not today. His slightly serious demeanor would shift quickly, his grin widening as the scent of Sabine quickly grew stronger. It had been far too long since he had seen his younger siblings and the thought of them being here, in these strange lands with him, was exhilarating.

A hearty laugh would fall from his lips when Sabine came into view. She looked well, if not strangely out of place in this foreign world he had engrossed himself in. "And you, dear sisko, are far too easy to find. You should work on that. It might get you in trouble one day." His tail would wave behind him, sweeping against his hocks in a wide arc, as he moved to close the distance between them - he didn't care if Sabine wasn't in the mood for being touchy-feely, if she ever was. His head bump carelessly into her own, a quick nuzzle offered in greeting before he pulled back to examine her.

His attention was swept away once again at Sunniva's arrival into the fray. His wolfish smile would return, his head tilting as he invited her to come closer. "It must be my lucky day," he proclaimed with another joyous laugh. He was too excited to notice that she seemed a bit different than usual, though she seemed less thrilled to see him. Briefly his brows would furrow, gesturing for her to come to him. "And why have you two left home?" he'd ask with curiosity. It wasn't surprising at all that they had left the tribe they had been born into, but he couldn't help but wonder what had prompted it. They had always been stubborn and independent enough that it didn't strike him as something out of character for either of them.

Sabine scoffed at Aki's words. "HA! I," she said, her voice taking on an edge of superiority, "Let you find me." A lie? Yes. Did he know that? Most definitely. Did it matter? Nope, not even a little. He then did what she'd hoped he would do; Aki closed the distance between them and affectionately headbutted her crown. Pretending to be annoyed, she returned his affection in her own brusque way by playfully making a grab at his ear.

Before she could pull Aki into a wrestling match, Sunniva showed up. Her tone teasing, Sabine parted with the words, "Heya, slowpoke. Long time no see, eh?" Said the blind chick to the sighted. An impish grin accompanied the words.

"And why have you two left home?" Ah, good question. Boredom, maybe? Life had gotten mundane and rote, and that had begun to eat at her. "Well, you see, we've got this big galumphing brother who just took off one day and we figured, you know," the giantess shrugged, "If he could do it..." she trailed off as her grin grew wider.

Slowpoke yeah. Haha, so funny Sabine. Sunniva would puff out her chest, huffing slightly. “Excuse me for not bolting off like some reckless hare.” She couldn’t hold her mock anger for long though, and she would let out a loud laugh, coming up to Sabine and brushing against her fur. “Kidding!” Her voice was well natured, finding herself able to slip back into a happy routine with her two siblings. Her gaze would shift to her brother again, and she would wag her tail.

“For the most part Sabine is right. Plus well, we had some hope of finding you too. We missed you. Besides... You never know what you might find out here in the lands away from home...” Her voice would tail off, as would her gaze. “...or whom you might meet.” Shaking her head she would look back to Áki.

“But seriously... Why not? If you left home, we can’t we?” Her grin was playful.

It was far from surprising that Sabine had beat Sunniva there. It wasn't because Sunniva was easily beat, no - he just knew Sabine was as fearless and stubborn as her twin sister. She had never had the option to be weak or less than her siblings. It was life or death, with no coddling or special treatment, and Sabine had proven quickly that she was determined to live. In response to her comment, he would snort loudly, though his grin seemed unshakeable. He barely even pulled away from her touch - now, if they were actually wrestling he might, but he was simply happy to be reunited with his sisters once again.

Their reasoning for leaving was a simple one. He'd left, so they could, too. He should've figured, though he was certain they would never admit aspiring to be like him... still, it didn't hurt to feel a bit of pride swell in his chest. Another hearty laugh left his lips as he moved to embrace Sunniva roughly, nudging her lightly with his tusks.  "Fair enough," he'd reply to Sunniva's rhetorical question.  "Life has not been the same without the two of you." He had craved adventure, had wanted to delve deep into the unknown.. and yet knowing his siblings were here now made everything infinitely better.

"Are you enjoying these strange lands?" he'd ask after a moment of examining the two of them, smirking gently. Alacritia was full of smaller, strange colored creatures.. few of whom were anything like the wolves he had grown up around. Hell, one of the first wolves he'd met had been on the verge of plunging off a cliff, a possibility that had never crossed his mind. "For there are certainly stranger creatures that inhabit it, I have found..."

The snort from Aki in response to her statement caused Sabine's face to screw up in a mock offended expression. For added effect she harrumphed to make her displeasure known. After a few seconds of pouting her features morphed into a grin that was uncannily similar to Aki's and to an outsider it would become all the more obvious that they were siblings.

“Excuse me for not bolting off like some reckless hare." A what? A hare? Sunniva was going to compare her to a prey animal? It was time to be pretend to be offended again. Sabine scoffed. "Reckless hare. At least I get places. Unlike you, you turtle."

"We did," she confirmed Sunniva's statement about missing him, but unwilling to pass up the opportunity, couldn't help but toss in a little extra, "Got kind of boring without our jester to entertain us."

"Are you enjoying these strange lands?" In response Sabine shrugged, the gesture a lazy, non-committal answer in a brief bid for time as she formed an answer. "There's a lot to explore here. I'm liking it so far." Massive trees, huge metal structures. Things she'd never witnessed before. "For there are certainly stranger creatures that inhabit it, I have found..." Her thoughts went to the smelly little dude she'd met on the ship. Snorting a laugh, she said, "Indeed there are."

Sunny couldn’t help but grin as Sabine pretended to be offended, comparing her to a turtle. Oh was that how it was? Well, she still able to get places, she just went at her own pace, her own time. Besides... She had a reason to linger. Someone that she cared about and wanted to see more of. But that was alright, she’d let their little “spat”, if it could even be called that, die there.

There was definitely less fun though without the three of them together. Sunniva truly missed it. She would let her gaze wander from Aki to Sabine and back, tail wagging slowly back and forth. This is all she could have hoped for -- the three of them together again. Here they were too.

”I’m really liking these lands too.” Sunniva would says slowly. “There are some... Very kind people here. I’ve enjoyed talking with them.” She’d glance to Sabine again, a grin on her lips. “You haven’t harassed too many of the locals, have you Sabine?”
