Herne slipped out of his den and stretched out his slender form. He was naturally very thin anyway, but it was very apparent that this last bout of sickness had taken a toll on his physique. His fur was a little unkempt and his ribs were apparent on his sides, but this really was the best he had felt in quite a while. He took in a deep breath of the morning air and was happy when he breathed out without coughing. He shook to smooth out his fur a bit so it wasn't sticking out in places so badly. His stomach was rumbling fiercely so he headed out to find something to eat.

He told himself that it was a good sign that he had his appetite back, but he wondered if he was going to be able to keep up with any prey he might find. He moved toward a small pool of freshwater that had formed from the snowmelt and happily lapped up the soothing liquid. One step at a time. He froze in place when he heard a rustle in the leaves ahead of him and when he looked up he saw a small doe standing there. Perhaps she had been coming to drink out of this same puddle. For a moment they stared down each other, but the second he lifted a paw to move she was gone. He sighed heavily and put his paw back down. So much for that.

There had been another watching the doe, though the moment his eyes caught other movement Féli got distracted. He would raise a brow, focusing on the young man who had finally emerged from his den. Herne. His cousin, and one who had not been well recently. Gaze would slide back to find that the doe had gone, and the young man would chuckle. Ah well, you win some you lose some. He would rise from his crouched position, stretching upon the grass. He would stride over to his little cousin, a smile on his face and a bit of happiness in his heart.

"Hey, glad to see that you're feeling better." The golden male would meet the mismatched hues of his cousin, tail set to wagging. >"It's been some time since I saw you last. You hungry? We could try and track down that doe if you want. She can't have gone that far."

"Listen to me talk," 'but read my thoughts.'

His ears perked when he heard paws moving toward him and his gaze easily found his cousin as the source of it. He returned Fèlicien's smile, very happy to see some of his family. It felt like it had been ages since he had seen any of them besides the occasional visit with his parents from time to time when he was feeling slightly better. "I'm quite glad to be feeling better myself," he replied with a soft chuckle.

When Fèlicien asked if he was hungry he nodded and as if right on cue is stomach rumbled loudly. He smiled sheepishly and chuckled. "I think some food would be a good idea." He let Fèlicien take the lead in going after the doe, following along quietly behind his cousin. He was positive Fèli had much more experience with hunting than him anyway and would have a much better chance catching her even if he had been feeling in tip top shape. Of course he had no way of knowing of his promotion, but all the same he would follow Fèlicien's lead.

Félicien was glad that Herne was definitely feeling better. The willingness to hunt to hunt was a good sign for certain, and the young man would chuckle softly. He had no problem in taking the lead of this hunt as he once might have. His confidence had risen since Frith spoke to him, granting his promotion. His idea of a hunting practice was uncertain, but he hoped that it would be a decent enough routine that could get some of the less experienced hunters some pointers before they went after some big game together. He hoped to see Frost there... It was his responsibility now to gauge if she belonged in Threar.

The golden male would take the lead, walking onward. Herne was hopefully falling into place by his side, and Félicien would get an idea. “How experienced would you say you are with hunting, Herne?” Perhaps this could turn into a one on one hunting lesson with his cousin if the other wanted. It would definitely be a nice refresher for himself as well.

Herne fell in beside Felicien willingly and tried to not struggle to much to keep up. His sickness was gone, but it was apparent that he still had a little recovering to do. Luckily, the more clear air he breathed and the more he stretched his under used muscles with each step the easier it got. It was all good signs, that was for certain. It was always harder to diagnose himself that it might be to diagnose others since he always jumped to the worst conclusions and over thought his own illnesses. Everything was pointing toward recovery and good things now though.

His cousin spoke again and he turned his two-toned gaze toward him curiously. "I know enough to get by I suppose. I'm definitely no master hunter though." He smiled a little, his curious gaze glancing from Feli to the area around them. He was always looking to learn new things and absorb as much information as he could so perhaps he could pick up a few tips from his cousin while they were hunting today. That was his hope anyway... that and getting some food into his stomach. That was important too.
