LORD, I AM CLIMBING HIGH MOUNTAINS TRYING TO GET HOME
Trying to get home...

Lyndvarr patrolled around the battlefield with a spring in his step despite the soreness in his muscles. He was getting excellent practice in battle as well as tending to battle wounds and not only that but he was discovering the battlefield was an excellent place to learn about the wolves of this country. Stretching lightly Lynd loped at an easy pace, loosening stiff muscles and warming up his body for any battles that would come this day. A stem of chamomile hung from his mouth as he moved, nearly purring at the warmth of the morning sun across his pelt. Yes… he could learn to like it here.

Perhaps it was getting a bit....obsessive. How could he have so much time the day? He spent a great deal of it at Gaia's side, helping her through this pregnancy, but he also seemed to spend a great deal of time on the battlefield, honing his skills so he might be able to defend his new children better. Besides, he was Ferax, and as a leader of his pack he was destined to have to defend it once in a while. It was good to remain sharp, right? Thats why he was here...right? So with a sigh he'd move through the battlefield, searching for a new opponent. Hed blink when he saw someone, smirking slightly. If they were on the battlefield they would have to be an opponent, right? So he'd trot up towards the wolf, his boyish grin upon his lips. Hed stand a bit to his left side, standing a good 10 feet away from him. Hed face him directly, dipping his head in greeting. "Shall we battle?" He called over the distance. "I shall offer you the first move!" Ever polite he was. Without a second thought and within a few moments of well practiced ease, he'd fall into his defenses. His limbs would part, giving a good shoulder width of distance and his toes would bite at the ground for extra traction. Head would lower to protect his vital neck and his shoulders would bunch the excess fur along his nape. Eyes would narrow, ears would pin and lips would curl slightly as if to growl as he watched his opponent. With a flick of his tail hed tuck it beneath his most vital area, and hed lower his weight upon his knees, ready to move in a moments notice. And so, he waited.

LORD, I AM CLIMBING HIGH MOUNTAINS TRYING TO GET HOME
Trying to get home...

As Lyndvarr went about his morning stroll his ears flicked to the side as he caught the sound of approaching claw scraps.  Turning his head Lynd saw that the approaching wolf was a male about his age, and my what a curious pelt he had!  A cloak of Ivory marked with a startling gold.  The man offered him the first move and Lyndvarr nodded and called out to the man, leaving the 10 foot distance between them,  "Good morning!  I'd be more than happy to." Such a friendly fellow!

Lyndvarr worked through his defenses, mind stirring with potential attacks.  He found going first somewhat intimidating.  Far easier to instinctively respond than to try and plot out the fight from the beginning.  Head and tail shifted to align with his spine as his head tipped slightly forward to tuck his chin.  Lyndvarr's supple neck scrunched back as his shoulders rolled forward, his hackles lacing down his back, shivering with anticipation.  Lynd spread his limbs equally apart to evenly distribute his weight.  Legs coiled like springs, lowering his center of gravity and prepping him for the first assault.  Toes splayed as claws dug into the dirt.  Adrenaline was coursing through his veins.  Lyndvarr's ebony ears pinned tight to his head his eyes narrowing as his jaws parted in a snarl.

Lynd shook down his nerves and inhaled before letting it out in a smooth, easy breath.  A moment passed and his legs pushed off powerfully as he loped toward his opponent in an effort to close the distance between them.  Lynd attempted to approach the man nearly head on, shifting his body a little lower (to compensate for their height difference) and a few inches to his own left in an attempt to line the blade of his right shoulder with the middle of Volt's chest.  Lyndvarr's weight shifted to his left foreleg and back legs as he attempted to jab his shoulder blade forward and up into Volt's trachea about an inch above the sternum in an effort knock the wind from the other man and cause enough bruising to keep the man in pain for the rest of the fight.  Immediately after he would attempt to bring his right forepaw down and to the right in an effort to slam the paw down on  the toes of Volt's left forepaw in the hopes of spraining them.

At the same time as he attempted a shoulder throw Lyndvarr's neck would snake to his own left as he attempted sink his fangs into the lower outer portion of Volt's shoulder, where the bottom of the shoulder connected to the upper arm.  He sought a hold to rip into the wide band of ligaments that connected the large trapezius muscle to the rest of the limb.  Lynd hoped to tear in deep enough that he could partially cripple the limb and slow his opponents movements.

Voltage would grin his signature toothy grin to the man but didn't spare another word. He had accepted his challenge, so Voltage would have to prepare, wouldn't he? His body remained tense, his hind limbs bound and flexed. He would settle the majority of his weight on his back legs, bending deep in the knee as he waited for his opponents approach. The moment the white male would move Voltage growled, lips curling and eyes narrowing. He lowered his head and leapt forward, off the tightly coiled springs he had prepared. Paws would eat the distance between them, his ample energy pushing him forward as quick as he could. After only a few single bounds he would put on his breaks, all four paws skidding against the ground. His toes would bite the ground as he skidded, twisting his upper half of his body away from his opponent and towards Voltage's left. Due to this he had positioned himself to take Lyndvarr's blow to his shoulder, along his Scapula bone (Reference). The impact was great and he felt himself push back slightly at the momentum. The pain was instant, blossoming like the flowers that dotted the shore of his home. He would bruise, he knew, but he hoped his opponent would feel as much as he did.

His weight would settle mostly on his hind limbs, a resting stance when he is in battle. Forelimbs would settle with a should width between them, toes biting at the ground and shoulders would remain pinched to protect the back of his neck with excess fur and fat. Due to his movement, the paw slam would miss most his toes, landing on the left most of his left paw. He would grit his teeth then before swinging his head around, just as Lyndvarr would aim his own attack. Voltage would aim for the back of Lyndvarr's neck, along the upper trapezius (Ref) He'd aim for a good grip, to sink his teeth into the muscle and get a strong, solid hold. This movement would allow his throat to remain out of Lyndvarr's reach, and thus protected. Lyndvarr's hit would miss due to Voltage's new positioning, and instead his teeth would sink in, slicing along his ribcage. While the skin was tender, and the pain in that moment was almost overwhelming (enough that Voltage had to clench his jaw whether he achieved his grip or not), it wasn't necessarily strong. Teeth would sink into the muscle, but he didn't retain weight very well (with his constant motion) so he didn't have much, well, meat on his bones, so the grip wasn't as strong as if it landed else where. The pain was severe, and the blood seeped instantly, soaking through his deep black fur. Such a tender area! Through it all, his tail would remain pinned, his ears forever back.

LORD, I AM CLIMBING HIGH MOUNTAINS TRYING TO GET HOME
Trying to get home...

Adrenaline coursed sweetly through his veins, heart hammering in his ears as Voltage charged to meet him.  Suddenly, his opponent would attempt to stop and Lynd's eyes widened slightly, taking in his opponent's movements, searching for the counterattack but it was too late to stop his own assault.  As Voltage twisted away from him the front of Lyndvarr's right shoulder collided painfully with the outside of Lyndvarr's right shoulder, along the scapula bone.  Pain rocked through his shoulder and he knew there would be severe bruising to contend with from the brutal collision.  Lynd's right forepaw grazed Volt's left forepaw but would not do any lasting damage.

Lynd's fangs missed their intended target and instead sank into the flesh along Volt's ribs, a few inches back from where the scapula met the upperarm, his original target.  Blood tainted his tongue as he dug in but the hold he obtained on this rounded surface was awkward.  Before Lynvarr could release his grip and stumble back Volt's fangs sank into the base of his neck, right between his shoulder blades where the upper trapezius lay.  The scent of his own blood peppered the air as his opponents fangs pierced moderately into his flesh, hooking through the thick fur and getting a solid hold.  Dam.

Lynd's defenses remained intact, his head aligned with his spine, chin tucked slightly.  His shoulders rolled forward and his neck scrunched back, keenly aware of the need to protect his throat.  Hackles remained raised and his limbs were set equidistant apart and bent to lower his center of gravity and keep him low.  Weight was divided evenly between his four legs as toes splayed for added grip, claws biting the earth for the traction he'd need to maneuver at such a close range.  Brow wrinkled as his eyes narrowed, ears remaining pinned tight to his skull.  Lynd's abdomen tensed to offer some protection should his opponent opt to go for his underbelly and his tail tucked between his legs and along his belly, again for added protection.  At this close a range it was unlikely he'd need to have his tail act as a rudder.

Abandoning his hold on Volt's ribs Lyndvarr moved with swift elegance for a new target.  Gaping jaws opened as his legs coiled a bit further.  Lyndvarr bent his neck down, fangs attempting to latch onto Volt's right wrist.  His upper fangs sought the flesh on the back of the wrist, his lower fangs sought to rest across the front.  Lynd desired to snap his fangs together in a solid hold on the delicate appendage, seeking to cause hairline fractures and intense pain in his opponent.  He would end this battle!  …and then tend to the other mans injuries, if the other would allow.

As Lyndvarr moved for a hold on the mans wrist he took a step to his own right seeking to line the center of his chest up with the front of the other mans right foreleg.  Powerful limbs would uncoil as Lyndvarr attempted to slam the upper center of his chest into the other mans upper arm.  He attempted to coordinate the slam with his bite in a desire to get the limb off the ground and unbalance his opponent.

It had been such a long time since he had felt such adrenaline, in this way. He was delighted when his teeth sunk into the flesh along the top of Lyndvarr's neck, sinking for a solid albeit moderate grip. His shoulder still burned as from the impact as he braced his stance, thinking through the milaseconds The second, however, that Lyndvarr's head ducked and his mouth went for Voltage's right paw he would clench his jaws in an attempt of strengthening his hold before he would suddenly drop. He would pull with all his weight, dragging his head down down towards the earth, his tail swishing out like a rudder as he seeked to drop towards the ground and back just a tad onto his coiled hind limbs. He hoped that with his solid grip he would be able to pull Lyndvarr down with him. His paws would brace against the earth, keeping his balance solid as toes dug into the sand, his hind legs coiling in preparation.

In this fraction of a moment Lyndvarr's teeth wrapped around his ankle, clenching to the point of tears. He knew something must have snapped or torn or possibly bruised severely, he didn't know, he wasn't a healer, but he knew it damn well hurt and it would hurt for a very long time. But he persevered, eyes glittering as a savage snarl ripped from his throat. The second he was close enough to the ground he'd gather all his strength and move to shove forward, attempting to twist his upper body more towards his left just a fraction as he did. With his hopeful grip still on Lyndvarr's neck he pull to the left and down. He hoped to connect his chest and shoulder with Lyndvarr's right leg, and to pull with his grip, wanting to almost flip Lyndvarr, hoping to use his opponents shoving momentum in his favor. His shoulders remained pinched, fur gathered along the top of his neck and his tail stretched out behind him. His lips were raised and eyes narrowed, ears pinned against the back of his head as he tried to achieve this flip, this moment, hoping he had the right grip and the right amount of strength in his shove to knock Lyndvarr right over his back.

VOLTAGE

CLARITY
- “The impact was great and he felt himself push back slightly at the momentum. The pain was instant, blossoming like the flowers that dotted the shore of his home. He would bruise, he knew, but he hoped his opponent would feel as much as he did.” How bad was this bruise? Is it more severe since it shoved him back, or more moderate bruising? -2
- “...the paw slam would miss most his toes, landing on the left most of his left paw.” How much damage did this cause? Light bruising, some fracturing? -2
- “...and instead his teeth would sink in, slicing along his ribcage.” “While the skin was tender, and the pain in that moment was almost overwhelming...” “Teeth would sink into the muscle...” “The pain was severe, and the blood seeped instantly...” You did a really good job of describing how it felt to Volt, but once again you left out the actual damage again. The way you described it makes it sound like a pretty major wound, but its hard to tell without the indications of something like “mild, moderate, severe, small scratch, deep wound, ect.” Without that, its pretty much up to the judge to say how much damage was taken, and can sometimes end up being way more, or too little, from what you indented. -2
- “and instead his teeth would sink in, slicing along his ribcage.” Which side of his ribcage? Where exactly along the ribcage? Upper half, lower half, between rib 4 and 5 or 1 and 2? -2

VOLTAGE

CLARITY
- “He knew something must have snapped or torn or possibly bruised severely, he didn't know, he wasn't a healer, but he knew it damn well hurt and it would hurt for a very long time.” He may not be a healer, but it had to be ONE of them, hehe. So did it break, bruise, whut? Guuuurrll state your damage. -2
- “Lyndvarr's teeth wrapped around his ankle, clenching to the point of tears.” Which ankle? He does have two, you know. ;) -2
- “He hoped to connect his chest and shoulder with Lyndvarr's right leg...” Where on his right leg? Upper portion, ankle? -2
- Okay so, last paragraph. Don't really wanna quote it all but I will do my best. It just gets confusing to the point where I don't understand HOW he is dropping and what portion of him is dropping. Like all of him like a literal dead man flop, or just his upper half? And then you shoot up again, get that part, using back legs to push up off of, but do his paws leave the ground? Is he rearing up? Overall its a lot of movement very fast, and just kinda left me guessing for a bit. But it was also very creative and a very inventive mood, I wish I could give you literal style points. XD -3

Total: 10

DEFENSES
Tail aligned with spine,  muscles tensed, toes in ground, shoulders rolled, hackles raised, lips snarling, eyes narrowed, ears pinned.

Total: 6

INJURIES
- Broken right ankle -5
Total: 5

Total for Round Two: 30 / 50

Totals:

LYNDVARR
46 + 39 = 85 / 100

VOLTAGE
36 + 30 = 66 / 100

And the winner is...

LYNDVARR
Voltage must give up by submitting, fleeing or passing out.

Damage:

LYNDVARR
- Severe bruising to the shoulder will take 2 OOC weeks to heal.
- Moderate lacerations to the base of the neck will take 2 OOC weeks to heal, possible scaring.

VOLTAGE
- Moderate bruise to right shoulder will take 1 OOC week to heal.
- Minor bruising to paw will take 3 OOC days to heal.
- Severe lacerations on ribs will take 2 OOC weeks to heal.
- Broken ankle will take one OOC month to heal completely.

Notes:

Tips for writing and some suggestions. (no points are deducted here):

LUNARCAT7
Good fight! Lost a few clarity points but otherwise you were pretty good, could have fit more attack points in there though!

ARIN
-wiggles finger at- You gotta state your damage girl! You would have been a lot higher if you did that, also missed a couple points like where you were aiming and where stuff landed exactly. Most of my notes are above though!

I have Arin's permission to pp the throw failing and it's been decided that Volt will surrender the fight rather than passing out

LORD, I AM CLIMBING HIGH MOUNTAINS TRYING TO GET HOME
Trying to get home...

Lyndvarr had trouble controlling himself in a fight. His natural instinct was to put his all into it and his father's violent instruction did little to curb this instinct. When his jaws seized hold of Voltage's ankle his fangs snapped together in a powerful blow that fractured the other mans wrist. The cracking sound made him realize how severely he was getting into this and he quickly released the other man. Voltage's chest would slam into his right foreleg and Lyndvarr's back legs would widen in an effort to brace his larger frame as he attempted to push back with all he had. However while he would not fall backwards he would tip forward and fall splayed across his opponent. Just as he would scramble back, defenses set to prepare another onslaught he'd hear the words of his opponent concedeing the fight to him.

Defenses rapidly fell as he took a few steps forward. "My apologies, I sometimes lose myself when I am fighting. If you'll allow me I am a healer. I'd like to help you with your injuries."
