Exploring the lands around the moor had become Phim's favorite thing to do while she waited for Narfi to decide on their next move.  Their recently discovered aunt had been MIA for a little while, but Dai and Phim were in no hurry to relocate.  Where did they even have to go?  They didn't have family, their old pack was dying out even before they left, and Phim had a sneaking suspicion that the pack Narfi sought no longer existed either, though she wouldn't announce it out loud.  Phim was content, then, to stay in one place and get to know it.  If she was going to live in Alacritia again, she needed a place that she and her brother could really call home.

It was midday and the sun was hot, but Phim crept through the open plain nonetheless.  A slight breeze moved the tall grasses around her, disguising her movements, but anyone downwind would find her for certain.  Not only would they catch the scent of a young wolf, but also the small rabbit that hung, bleeding, from her maw.  She knew other wolves lived here, for their scent was everywhere, but it didn't bear the markings of pack land so it should be safe enough.  The hunting was worth the risk of punishment for encroaching on another's space.

Eventually she lowered herself to her belly, when she felt that she was sufficiently in the middle of the plains, and began to take her rabbit apart in careful pieces.  Her work was sloppy though, and it made her long for what she never had.  No one taught her or Dai how to hunt properly.  Her parents had passed before they could educate their children on the subject.  Phim could only capture small game if she was lucky enough to corner it, and this rabbit had been the unfortunate one of many she had attempted to catch.  If only she could have her father back, even just for one moment, to tell her how to do something right.  If only...

Phim's brother, Daitaro, is allowed to crash literally all of her threads.

He'd been exploring some of the new lands, all of which he'd never seen before. He came from the far South, across the water and it was his time to go and travel to spread his knowledge and learn from others as well. He'd been careful about crossing paths with others, the male being somewhat solitary but at the same time, he craved to speak to a native. To learn what these lands had to offer and to see what kind of mindset these wolves had. He wasn't sure if it was craving for knowledge, socialization, or perhaps something else he couldn't quite name...either way, he would learn soon enough.

The grasses brushed his pelt, head tilted slightly upward to avoid scratching his face with the brittle grasses that swayed with the summer breeze. It was nice here, he admitted, but despite the scenery of these lands there was something missing. He would continue forward regardless, caution on his side as the scents of many came to him. It didn't smell like there was a pack around, though he didn't want to accidentally stumble upon someone's home and piss off entire families. It couldn't be helped, these were free lands and he would continue minding his own business. That's when he smelled it. Pausing mid-stride, he could smell the faint scent of blood mingled with the wild grasses and other prey scent, though this particular scent carried the hint of blood. Perhaps someone was hunting? Or maybe enjoying their meal? What would they do if he were to seek them out and discover who it was? He nearly opted for simply leaving, but his curiosity got the better of him...just this one time wouldn't hurt.

Following the scent trail, Arvandor walked carefully among the grasses. The vegetation somewhat concealed him, but with his coat as bright as it was, he was sure it did little. The sun glinted off his pelt, almost illuminating his color, so he simply didn't care if he was spotted at this point. It was always hard to hide himself considering his gargantuan size and his coat being such an array of colors. Steel blue eyes searched the vegetation, nostrils flaring slightly as he drew closer to the scent, and it was only moment before he would find her. A young female digging into a small catch. Curious, he approached slowly and with caution so as not to scare the smaller femme. He gave a small bark to announce his approach so as not to startle her, but he would remain partially concealed in the grass as he looked on.
