Hopes and Dreams are Like Stars in the Sky

Astrea hummed. It had been a long time since she sat on this cliff side and just looked up into the stars. Felt like a lifetime ago since she been back, since she spent any time with Ten and just watched the stars. She frowned then thinking of the big guy, she knew that they had grown apart even before she left in the spring, but now he was nowhere to be seen. But he was an adult as was she, if he was mad at her behavior and left she would accept that as her loss and mistake. She sighed as she traced the stars, thinking of another someone who spent time with her at this spot. Where was voltage? He had not showed up when she came back and that was not like him. He was normally the first one to pounce her instead she got his kid. The very thought of the little thing brought out a smile to her face. So much like her father but at the same time not. Illume reminded Astrea of... Well herself. She spoke much the same as Astrea did, but in a more outgoing light. She spoke of the calling, a calling that was the same as she felt. Illime needed to be close to the sky like Astrea needed to be close to the stars. And Astrea was going to help the her the best way she knew how, the same way volt help her through her own period of uncertainty. Astrea wanted to be the rock that held the next generation together, she wanted to help them realize and accept the nature that they where born too. That was Astrea's goal in life, to help her family who needed it to understand the nature of the elements that ruled them. She wanted to be the rock that volt had been all those nights ago when they had watched the stars... |

Voltage could sometimes be a little sneaky. At least, when he tried to be. He had known Astrea had returned from her scent, but sadly he hadn't been around for her return to the pack. The one time he had decided to venture out of the packlands in quite sometime, and something large goes down. When he had crossed the land border he had been exceedingly surprised by the very familiare and very fresh scent of his littlest sister. Happiness had soared through his chest, taking wing like it hadn't in quite some time. One of the missing had returned! Now, all he needed was Serefina, and..maybe, one day, Arcus. He had sighed at the thought, knowing his stormy brother resented him, but there was nothing he could say to get passed his anger. But that wasn't too important anymore. Now, he had Astrea to catch up with. Luck had been on his side as dusk turned to night, and the stars began to glitter. He didn't have to hunt her down at all, no. He knew exactly where she would be. So on delicate paws he had climbed the cliffs, sneaking with a perfection grown from having a mischevious daughter. He had gotten quite good at sneaking up on her and catching her breaking rules or doing something bad. He'd tiptoe along the cliffs, eyes shining brightly as they settled on the midnight color of his sister...and her many new additions. Blinking, he'd take in her array of feathers, before a small smile touched his lips. He'd step up behind her then, looking out at the horizon over her shoulder. "You know, sister, I wasn't being serious when I said I wouldn't be surprised you'd grow wings." He'd whisper beside her ear, his signature grin upon his lips. Stepping around to the side, he'd look at her with bright eyes. "Welcome home, Astrea." His voice was soft, tender, and he felt every emotion bubble and pour from him. Every shred of happiness increased tenfold, and every moment of anxiety and sadness seemed like a long lost memory. "Mind if I join you? I've missed having a reason to stay up at night." He said with a laugh, moving to sit reguardless. He knew her answer, he always knew. "Burn Baby Burn" |
