Feathers, get your feathers

This was the only place it seemed that had a source of water. The lake surrounded by tree's seemed like a perfect plays for wolves to hang around. Yet when she looked at it from the sky, there was no source of life apart from the animals. Hovering down, she landed on a sturdy branch before turning her head left and right and jumping onto the floor. She was used to open spaces but tree cover was another story. With a smile on her face as usual, the huge bird would waddle to the middle of the small clearing and dig in the ground.

There were a few bugs here and there, but that wasn't what she was interested in. Spreading out her wings to stretch her muscles she flapped them clearing up dirt in her path like a broom stick. Spreading out her tail feathers she stepped on her wings for one last stretch before folding them against her body. Another place to explore and relax. Then once she got to know the place better, it would be great to find a home and a new clay bath.
