If someone was to get a top down view of Piper, all they would see was the thick grasses barely parting around her. Piper didn't care how thick the grass was. As soon as she found out that the Rustling Thicket was part of her Daddy's pack she knew she had to come explore it! She slipped away from her parents and siblings quietly so they wouldn't keep her from going and headed out to find out what this new place was all about! So far all she had found was a bunch of grass. Grass, grass, and more grass. She heard some birds somewhere in here, but she hadn't found any of them yet. She snaked back and forth around the thicket and so far she wasn't too terribly impressed, but she wouldn't give up yet! Her ears perked when some chirping and squawking sounded like it was getting closer and she made her way toward the noise. She squished her body to the ground and crept forward till she grass parted in front of her and revealed a nest with a pair of birds and some tiny wiggly creatures in it. They sure were ugly. Were those baby birds? She hoped she wasn't that ugly when she was a baby! They didn't have any feathers or anything! "Talk" "You" Think

Icky, she felt icky having been cooped up in the den the whole time. She had been sick, her mommy and daddy taking care of her until they had both left when the alpha called, but she hadn't seen them since. Qualm had helped take care of her, other then that...the pair were alone. They were within a pack, but she hadn't seen any visitors. Momma hadn't told her who was who, so when she was finally recovering thanks to her brothers help, she set out to find everyone who shared her home. Tiny black paws carried the runt across the terrain, from a birds eye view she probably looked like a larger then average rat, but she was pretty small. Being sick stunted her growth, but even at full grown she would be a smallish creature.

Crimson eyes kept alert as she walked, and through her wanderings she hadn't realized how far away from her den she had gone. She was following one scent, and then another, and eventually ended up following random scent trails because they criss-crossed all over the territories. The little midnight girl barely parted the grasses in a land that she didn't even know existed, then again she hadn't exactly been beyond the serpent plains...but this was new! And...a little scary. The grasses were taller then her by a landslide. She probably no more then a rodent at this point as the vegetation towered over, and soon after some time of aimless wandering, she stopped. Sniffing around, she lost all scents of whatever or whoever she was following. Lost, alone. She was growing a little scared, where did mom and dad go? Why weren't they showing her where to go? Where was Qualm? Sniffing, tears began to prick her eyes as she began to grow timid. The only sound being that of random bird song, but no more. Dropping to her rump, she would call out a meek "H-hello? Anyone T-there?" But would anyone hear her at all?

Sandpiper was enjoying watching these birds and their weird looking babies until a voice called out, looking for anyone around. Her ears perked at the noise and then immediately fell back against her head when the birds went super alert from the noise. She didn't want them to attack her for someone else's noise so she beat a hasty retreat, backing away through the grasses. Well, since she was done observing these birds, she might as well see who was causing a racket! She headed toward where she thought the voice had come from and with a little help from sniffing out the other girl's scent she quickly found the fellow pup. "Hi!" Piper exclaimed with a cheerful hop, her tail wagging excitedly behind her. She loved meeting new people almost as much as she loved exploring! She hopped up to the black, red-eyed pup, dropping down with her front half on the ground and her tail in the air, completely ready to play. "My name is Piper! Wanna go 'sploring with me? I'm trying to find a stream or something!" She looked to her new acquaintance hopefully. Two sets of eyes were better than one! "Talk" "You" Think

She gazed warily around at her surroundings, a frown creasing her lips as she tried to figure out where she was. She jumped slightly when a voice sounded, red gaze finding the voice to belong to another girl around her age, and suddenly she wasn't afraid anymore. "Hi!" Her own tail began to wag as her eyes followed the wagging tail of her new companion, giggling a bit as the other girl invited her to go exploring. Oh that sounded fun!

Nodding eagerly, she too crouched in a play bow as her tail wagged in the air, crimson gaze bright. "I'm Quake! I wanna esplore with you!" She exclaimed excitedly, maybe this was a chance to make friends! Pawing at Piper's left paw, she giggled as she bounced back, head tilting to the side. "Follow the leader? You lead!"

Piper grinned happily when this new girl introduced herself as well and agreed to go exploring with her. She giggled and tried to catch Quake's paw when she pounced at her own, but she was quickly distracted by Quake asking if she wanted to be the leader. "Okay!" she exclaimed happily as she jumped up back onto all fours. She was gonna be a leader like Daddy! That was exciting! "Come on, lets go! We're gonna find so many cool things!" She trotted off through the grasses, glancing back behind herself every once in a while to make sure Quake was still following behind her. Her ears perked and she suddenly stopped in her tracks when she heard the sound of bubbling, gurgling water. "Do you here that?" she asked in an excited whisper, listening soooooo carefully to the new noise. "Come on!" she whispered with a little hop before diving back into the thick grasses and moving toward the sound. Sure enough, a moment later she found a shallow stream of water winding through the grasses and making a little snake-like path through it. Piper squealed happily and bounced up and down in place. "We found a stream, Quake! Oh I bet we could use the space the steam makes in the grass to get through it easier, huh? I bet so! It's not deep!" She pawed at the surface of the water and imidiately pulled her paw back with a shiver. "Oh it's cold though!" "Talk" "You" Think
