The man would move with purpose through the lower lands of the place known as Alacritia. It was not the valley where he was born. But it was the place where he had arrived to carry on a legacy of a mother who didn't even want him. But despite this fact Matthias was a proud Barnett. A youth who was happy just to be alive. Even if there were darker corners of his mind that were whispering that he shouldn't be here. That he never should have been. But sometimes one just had to take the good with the bad.

Humming softly to himself Matthias would walk on in a woods that seemed to be the same no matter which direction he picked. The young man would swing his hips back and forth, moving to the rhythm in his own head. Not even the cloudy skies could dampen the brute's spirits. He would be alright. He'd find a way to revive the Barnett Clan and perhaps then, then his step mother might care for him more. Perhaps then his real mother could be proud of him. Maybe... maybe one day he'd find out why his father had never truly been there. There was so much he didn't know. Why... was he okay with this?

Perhaps he was too happy? Matthias would stop, curiously tilting his head to the side. Was he? Nah. With a gleeful giggle he would set off once more. Let the good times roll.
