The heavy brute was tired, a state he only reacted normally by the aid of Voltage and his brothers tireless energy. The truth of the matter was, they had been searching for hours. The sun had long faded, and the air had started to chill with the night. He could see a soft fog of breath before his face, but little else in the encroaching darkness. The fear of hypothermia setting in was a real threat, and with every passing hour the chances of finding their missing girl went down. However, they where not even at the 12 hours mark, and he could not begin to imagine slowing the search until they reached the 24 hours.

He didn't hold out any hope that Gale and Locha where fearing any better then himself and Voltage. They where under strict instructions to howl if they caught a single clue to Illume's whereabouts. Him and Voltage had been taking turns being one on land and one in the water, neither having the stamina to remain swimming for long periods of time. With the approach of darkness however Glacier was reluctant to give up his position in the sea. Even through his thick coat he could feel the cool on his soaking skin and he imagined Voltage on land, still soaking from his last trip in the water was feeling even worse. He couldn't imagine letting his brother back into the water, then it would not be just daughter at risk of hypothermia. As the pre-determined fifteen minute slowly approached, Glacier said nothing. Diving beneath the water once more, through he couldn't see beyond his paws in the water, and his eyes where rimmed with red from the salty sea. He tore his head out from the water again, chattering teeth glancing skywards. Poor Current... he hoped Gaia had succeeded in keeping her locked in the den out of the cold “ILLUME” he howled, through his voice was nearly hoarse from the constant call.

Run. The word kept repeating in his mind. Push yourself. Move as fast as you can and when you feel like falling, move even faster. He hurt, his lungs burned and his muscles screamed. Even the lightning lost its luster after a while. But he had to move, no matter how much his body screamed at him to fall, to collapse on the earth and let his legs relax. But no, no he could not. His daughter, his little rambunctious little girl was out there somewhere. Cold and terrified and alone...hurt...or worse. The very thought pushed him harder, calling for his daughter and putting his nose to the earth. Every second mattered and so many of them had passed since the last second he had seen his baby girl.

At least...at least it had been when she was being courageous.

No! He shook his head, feeling all the weight push at him as he continued to move. No, thoughts like those were not allowed! They would find her. They would have her again. Or so help him. Or Gods help him. Glaciers cry for his daughter caused the tears to return, his eyes hadn't really cleared for even a second since that moment. But he refused to stop, refused to wallow in his sorrow, refused to face reality. Every moment that went by that they didn't find her… His chest clenched at that, ice rushing his veins. It felt…like someone had turned the light out.

And oh, Current. His mind was so full it hurt, his heart was so heavy he was sure it stopped beating from time to time. But he couldn't stop. He had to keep going, keep moving. For Gaia, for Current, for his entire family.

It had been so long since they had felt sorrow like this,if this could be compared to what they had known. There was only one other time he had felt this sorrow, and a similar panic...when they were pulled from their siblings. They had worried more for their brothers and sisters safety than their own. But this...this was like that feeling in hyperspeed. He felt it all, in all 12 hours they have been searching. Normally he felt things quickly but this.…this blind sighted him. With a sigh he'd turn to his brother, faultering slightly as his legs gave out. He stumbled, clenching his jaw before sighing and looking up at Glace. "G-Glace...I..." he called, feeling his jaw grow right and his lungs burn. It felt like someone grabbed him by throat, shaking him for the very thought. Maybe we should...stop it had been too long. They were exhausted. But how could they stop! What if she was just around the next bend, needing him. "I don't know what to do..." He admitted in the tightest of voices, feeling everything suddenly break. The tears fell and he needed to lay down, needed to breathe. She was out there somewhere and for the first time in her young, precious, fragile life...he couldn't reach her.…

As the darkness had started to fall around them, the sounds of their breaths in the cool air and the effort of his slowly swimming body seemed to full the night. Lifting his head and howling illumes name seemed to cut the air through like a knife and the silent that filled the gap after was deafening. They had caught no evidence of the girl, no scent or trace of a body or efforts of someone dragging themselves from shore. It was like the water had swallowed hee whole and left them without even a body.

Voltage's words brought him back to the moment, and his head snapped upwards with an audible click and he groaned as his joints punished him. He paddled closer to shore and when his paws touched earth, and the water stirred around his walking form he would sigh. "Voltage" he said gently, "I will never stop looking for her, I promise you this. But we may need to leave this and pick it up again in the morning. I'm chilled to the bone and I have no doubt you are as well, and you'll feel it when you stop" he said gently to his brother. He also knew without a doubt that he would be sleeping a lot of nights at his brothers, like old times, and not like. He would be there to ensure his brother was ok, to be a piller of support. "We need to decide how else to approach this. We can only search the ocean to an extend but perhaps we should look for streams inland she might gotten pulled into. We should study the current too see if we can follow the directions it might pull her. " he said gently, through he was reluctant to give up the search himself. "In the early hours of the morning we should organize thr entire pack to search. Perhaps speak to some of our allies to help us search the beaches spanning far outside of dono terratory" he murmured gently. Perhaps one of their friendly aligned packs would have some other ideas as well.

He struggled to take another step, but his legs shook and suddenly gave out. He fell with a puff into the black sand at his paws, clenching his jaw at the cry that wanted to spill out. He was sore, so sore...but what of his daughter? How was she feeling? Oh...he couldn't stop, he couldn't wait. With one eye open, his other closed tightly at the pain, he stared at his brother. Ears were pulled back, tightly, pressed against his skull and brows pulled close. "Brother." He whimpered softly, looking down, wincing at his words. No....no... He struggled to get back to his paws, his muscles hurting. He needed to get up.

"What if she's around the next bend, Glace. What if she's hurt and freezing and needing us around the corner. We can't stop now!" He said, panic rushing through him before he moved, trying to continue on, to walk, to find his daughter. He had to find his daughter! A cry would finally fall from his throat as he fell back to the sand, his legs giving up on him. No... "Illie..." He whimpered, claws digging into the earth. He'd close both eyes now, face wrinkling as he struggled with it all. "We don't have allies! Why? Because we refused to give away our family's loyalty. We don't have allies, Thear is gone, Secretua is gone..." He felt alone. "Serefina, Selini...Solaris...Where are they?" He cried. Oh, he cried. Everything hurt, he had never felt such loss, such disappointment. "Serefina.." He whimpered then, curling in on himself just a little. He needed her, so desperately. Needed her fire, her energy, her ability to make him find himself again. He needed them all, the twins, where were they? "Will I ever be happy, Glacier? Why must the universe take it all away?" He'd cry, looking to his brother then with large stormy eyes, tearfilled. "Why?" He breathed, feeling so helpless. "I can't stop, Glace...I can't...If I do, we'll never get her back. I can't stop..."

As voltage fell to the earth glacier surged from the water to be at his side shaking out his coat and shuddering as the night air touched the wetness against his body. He couldn't even begin to imagine how voltage might be feeling. Illume was family to him and her loss heart like a gut punch but he was voltages father, her his daughter. The kind of fatherly instincts that must be kicking in, driving him, and adding to the pain of the loss where indecipherable for glacier. Voltage's words where heart breaking and his brothers pain only added to the titans burdens. Having pulled himself from the water to be at his brothers side his nudged his head against the lightning boy. As voltage rose and moved again, he moved with his brother, keeping to his side.

His brothers unintwnrially poured salt on both their wounds as he lamented the other loses they had felt since moving here. He mourned the disaparince of threar and secretua, both leaders he had counted amungst his friends. Selini and Solaris hadn't been gone as long as serephena but their disapairance was just as worrying. And Sere. .. sere had been gone so long he was afraid he would never see her again. Silently, he added Arcus to the list. He knew his brother just needed time... but how much time, and did he truly have thr sibling love they all boosted to bring him home to them. He pushed the thought away, forcing his heart not to break at the names piling up before him. Oh sweet sere, their little fire. Solaris their little sun. Selini their moon. How did any of them shine with all these lights dimmed?

"Current and gaia need you too voltage. Go back to them, and I will leave now to find surreal and sin, and see if they, and any of the packs we consider our friend - fiori and sonticus, perhaps, will lend us able bodies. I will ask gale and Locha to continue the search and find more of our siblings to relieve them for a few hours. Someone will be looking voltage, always, and if she is around the bend then there will be someone to find her. Right now, I believe you could do thr most good with current and gaia" his voice was a weary sigh, well he was begging voltage to rest and see to his family that needed him he would go on and find them help. Surreal had always been kind to him, he believed she would understand. He wasn't certain if bringing sin in would give him more people to search or would lose him surreal and therefore he would find her first and speak to her and see what she could offer them. "Are we agreed, beloved brother?"
