Call to aid
By this point it had passed midnight and it was so early in the morning that dawn was a long way off. Glacier was so concerned that he would be incapable of finding surreal in this moment of need that he hadnt yet had had a chance to dwell on the worry if waking her in the crazy hours. Of course, sleep had ceased to mean anything and waiting for Downs approach only gave a higher chance of illume dying of hypothermia, alone and in the dark. Surreal had always struck him as a compassionate soul and he reasoned that had she been given the choice she would rather he wake him then wait till morning.
Perhaps he only logiced it that way because nothing in the world could stop him from doing everything he could for illume here and now, and it was easier to go with the idea that surreal would agree. Whatever the reason he would find himself on the plains she loved and lifting head, howling her name. There was an urgency in his tone - a child was lost! Would she heed the call?

Colds. Ugh. But Surreal and her son were finally kicking the little bug that had snuck in not long after the move back to the Plains. Now she stood over a rabbit, chewing it down with relish. That was until Glacier's strident call rolled over the plains. She scooped up the rabbit, wheeling on her haunches in a flash and charging toward the call. It sounded urgent, tired. She may not have been pleased with his sister for sticking her nose beyond neutral territory, but she still valued a friendship with Glacier and Donostrea. The past was the past, and Glacier sounded like he needed help.
She skidded to a halt as she drew close, dropping the rabbit in order to look him over. "Glacier? What's wrong?" Because clearly something was wrong; it was written in his eyes, and in every line of his massive body. He wasn't injured, but he looked tired and careworn. Had something happened to Gale? Voltage, whom she'd not met? Someone else? Concerned mismatched eyes gazed up at him as she waited for an answer. Whatever it was, he had her help for sure.
