Ever since her first visit to the west, Gale had been interested in coming back. Her first visit had been short and spent on business, seeking the father of the young pup Eilan that her brother had taken in so that she could bring him back and reunite father with son. There had been no time to wander and explore as she would have liked, and given that she was supposed to be her pack's messenger, she figured being familiar with all the lands, including those beyond the borders of her home, would only help and not hinder her.
Which was why she was back. Her lips were stretched into a crooked grin, her grey-green eyes alive and dancing with excitement as she glanced around her at the new scenery. With her mission complete she was free to wander here to her heart's content, and she was very curious about what she would find now that she no longer had a specific target in mind. Most of the territory that she had seen on her earlier visit had been dry and somewhat dreary, but this area was different. It boasted of plant life - or at least hinted at it since the chill of winter even reached this direction - and lacked much of the empty expanse that she had seen during her initial run through.
By the time her paws brought her clear of the sparse vegetation and toward the edge of a quiet, secluded lake, the petite grey wolf felt both surprised and delighted by her find. So this place was not all rocks and sand and dryness! Feeling her crooked smile widen, Gale trotted delicately forward on quiet paws, slowing and stopping once she reached the edge of the lake. It looked like a nice location - and she could only imagine what her sister Locha might have thought about the water. Not being a swimmer, Gale had little interest in it other than to drink, and expecting a chilly refreshment she bent her head to taste it.
