Athena blinked awake just as the sun was starting to filter through the den's entrance and she sleepily lifted her head to look at the two little girls sleeping between her and Amalia's sleeping form. She smiled as she looked at the two of them. It was amazing how much pups could grow in what felt like such a short amount of time. She almost didn't want to disturb them, but she had plans for today that required them to be awake. She leaned down and gently nuzzled Jayne and Diana's backs to slowly wake them both up. "Hey you two," she whispered, giving each of them a kiss on the top of their heads. "Rise and shine! Why don't you both wake up Momma Ama and we'll see about a surprise for the both of you, hm?" She chuckled softly and leaned back to watch the adorable chaos that was sure to ensue as she released two pups upon her sleeping wife.

Jayne gave a protesting grumble when she felt her mother waking her up, her front paws coming up to cover her still closed eyes. She pressed herself closer to Diana's side and was about to try to go back to sleep when her mother's instructions cut through her sleepiness. A surprise? Her head popped up from under her paws and she looked up at Athena's face curiously. She didn't know what kind of surprise it was going to be, but she guessed they couldn't find out till Momma Ama was up! She giggled softly and hopped up onto her paws, nudging Di's shoulder with her nose at the same time. When her sister was up, she crept toward Momma Ama and then when she was close enough she pounced on Ama's shoulder with a high-pitched squeal, giggling happily and bouncing all around her momma. "Momma Ama! Momma Ama! Come on, wake up! Mom said there was a surprise!"

A familiar nuzzle to her back awoke the smaller girl from her peaceful slumber. Her eyelids fluttered open, feeling not at all exhausted, unlike her sister who protested at the early awakening and pressed her body closer into hers. A russet head turned in the direction of her silver mother at the mention of a surprise, though she wouldn't rise to her ebony paws until her sister did so. Hopefully she would like this surprise; she wasn't feeling too certain about it. Taking wobbly steps over to her other mother, she stood beside her sister who let out a high-pitched squeal, making the quiet girl flatten her ears against her head. "Not that loud, Jay-Jay," she softly told her sister, gently nudging her mother's cream form. "You'll scare her awake."

Amalia had been peacefully asleep beside her family, a light snore sounding from her maw. Grey paw twitched in her dreams, claws working at the air as if she was digging in the earth. She had returned home late last night from her trip to the West for more herbs, so there wasn't much sleep under her belt. Thst is how the usually light sleeper did not wake at the sound of her lovers voice, but the shrill call of Jayne interrupted her sleep. Blue eyes snapped open as the tiny woman leapt to her paws, wide eyes looking around for danger. Her hackles were raised, but at the soft nuzzle of her more quiet daughter she looked to the two girls, form relaxing with a soft sigh. "Or give your old mother a heart attack!" She said with a lightly pitched voice, turning her gaze to Athena to offer the taller woman a smile. She knew not what her mate had planned, or if the girls just wanted her awake. Not knowing what was going on she sat down with a sigh, licking at her ruffled fur. She had a feeling that the surprise was going outside, the girls were old enough to explore the snowy lands thst lay outside their den. Perhaps that's what Athena had in mind? Looking at her mate again with a raised brow, she allowed her to explain what was going on today while a yawn parted her jaws.

Athena wanted to feel bad when she saw how startled Amalia got from Jayne's sudden happy squeal, but all she could do was giggle at how silly it all was. She smiled at Diana's sweet attempts at trying to calm her more hyperactive sister down and she could only watch the three of them with so much love in her gaze. They were all perfect, Amalia and their two daughters. Her eyes met Amalia's and she offered her mate an apologetic grin and a chuckle before getting to her own paws.

"Come on, you two. Leave for Ama be. I think it's high time we go on an adventure!" With a little shake of her fur she slipped out of the den and poked her head back in with an encouraging smile to her daughters. She knew Jayne would be all for it, but she was sure Diana might need a bit more convincing. "Lets go take a look around! Maybe Tib will come see you while we're out here too, huh? He won't believe that you're big girls now!"

Jayne's ears fell down against her head when Momma Ama popped up, obviously startled by her pouncing and her squealing and she gave her red-headed mother a little smile and a look that clearly read "sorry". Her ears perked up again though when their silver mother began to speak and she looked back at Athena excitedly at the prospect of an adventure. She watched her larger gray form slip out of the den and she put two and two together. They were going outside!! She gasped happily and she hopped from foot to foot, waiting for confirmation of this before she dashed outside. Her mom's added words were all the confirmation she needed. She giggled happily and nudged Di's shoulder. "Let's go!" she told her sister in an excited whisper before bouncing out of the den, slipping past Athena and out into the sunlight. She gasped as she bounced into a patch of snow, immediately squealing and turning to run back to Athena and pressing herself into Athena's leg. "It's coooooooold!"

She spoke too soon, her sleeping mother shocked awake by her sister's squeal, which startled the ivory girl like a chain reaction of surprises. As she pulled away from her mother's side, she caught a glimpse of her sister's apologetic look. Sometimes her quiet nature did come in handy and saved her from the guilt, though it didn't help when it came to encountering new things, like this adventure that her other mother mentioned. An adventure? Oh, she didn't know how to feel about that. While her sister erupted into happy giggles with excitement that could barely be contained, she remained calmly still, a look of uncertainty upon her features. Hesitantly, she lumbered behind her sister though stopped by the den's entrance, poking a russet head outside. Should she go out and follow Jayne? Momentarily, her question was answered with another squeal from her sister as she came running back to their mother, remarking that it was cold. Hmm...cold. She didn't like cold, and the fact that it was outside didn't increase her courage to step out. So she looked back to her mothers, hoping they would offer a few words of encouragement.

She caught both her daughter and wife's look of apology, and simply shrugged her shoulders with a light laugh. It was only because she had been in such a heavy sleep that she had been startled, usually the soft spoken words of her mate would have roused her first. It didn't last long though, when Athena shared what she was planning today Jayne took off like a bullet, following the larger woman out of the den. She lingered back with Diana, knowing that the girl took after herself when she had been young, although a lot more reserved than her tiny mother. Leaning down to nuzzle her shoulder affectionately, she moved forward when Di did, keeping in step with the cream coloured female. Both of them poked their heads out, and she let out another laugh when Jayne found out just how cold snow was. Eyeing Athena she smiled sweetly at the woman, before her attention was drawn back down to their other daughter. Seeing her sisters reaction to the snow had surely confirmed that outside was bad, but she didn't want her to be afraid. She didn't seem to be scared though, just... hesitant. "Its okay my love, go on. All that white stuff you two see out there is called snow. It only comes during the winter time, and when spring comes it will all melt away. It won't be cold for that much longer." She said softly. Fondly her gaze returned to Athena, remembering their time in the North. "Your Mother and I used to live in a place that had at least three times the amount of snow as there is here. I would get lost in the big banks sometimes!" She commented with a giggle, although a touch of sadness crossed her tone. She knew that Athena missed her home land, but she was so grateful that they were here now with her family. Amalia knew that it had been hard, and still was, on her larger mate. The both had a lot of fond memories there, and now they were starting a whole new chapter here.
