Winter in the east felt more like perfection to the ashy toned lass who found her way among the tangle of undergrowth.  Her relatively unimpressive height made maneuvering a whole hell of lot easier than if she were a good 50-80 pounds heavier than she was.  Her grey ears were pinned to her skull, avoiding the mess of pokey twigs and leaves just above her head.

Lavender eyes would cast to the sky, what little of it could be seen through the canopy that was, as her paws carried her forward more and more.  Her gut was sunk in, showing her empty stomach like a white flag to the world screaming, 'I surrender!"  But she didn't surrender, she was a fighter who always scrapped by.  Her means of living was meager but she managed; at least she hadn't died yet.  Her optimism made her smile as she braked to lap water from a rather sorry excuse for a creek.  Water dribbled down her chin as she once more looked skyward, this time tilting her head back and swiveling it around as if searching for something.

From above the trees came a cry, the silhouette of a bird racing by.  She gave a mental "aha" before stepping over the creek.  She moved at a brisk trot and slowly the trees peeled back, thinning more and more until they opened to reveal flat rock face.  It was narrow and long but not very tall.  To one side it was crumbled.  She evaluated for a moment before jumping up to perch on the wall that was roughly a foot in width.  The stone was solid and offered her a vantage point for what she was searching for.

A wake of vultures squabbled quite loudly over a carcass that was nearly indistinguishable under the mass of black feathers and bald heads.  A deer, young, felled in ways unknown without a closer look.  She stood, balancing on the stone ledge with her tail raised.  Hackles rose as she leaped down, charging across the open with a violent snarl.  The birds, who had been too caught up to notice her, were now flailing to gain air and escape the fangs that fell over them.  They didn't move quickly enough and one ended up under her teeth.  The feeling of the feathers in her mouth nearly made her gag but instead she clamped down, snapping the life out of the large black bird's body.

She stepped back, the commotion over and the prize before her.  She tossed the limp vulture to the side, casting it off without a second thought.  Intestines were spilled out before her and a good amount of the meat was already gone.  She did a once over, checking for cause of death.  THERE.  Her eyes locked on a back leg, deformed by the hoof.  Perhaps it was born that way or perhaps by some miracle it had survived a nasty break.  Either way, winter had killed the yearling doe.

Her tail swept back and forth behind her once, twice, and then she dug into her claimed feast.

The leopard would watch from a distance as the she-wolf battled with the scavangers. At the capture of one, Katheen had to hold back a gag herself. Disgusting was the only thing that came to mind when it came to vultures. Thanks to hunger, she had attcked and eaten a vulture when she was young. Worst thing she'd ever done.

The young wolf's physical shape had been taken nite of as she dropped the bird and examined the felled doe. A brow would raise as she wondered why the mutt would pause to dig in to such a prize when she looked so starved. Secinds would pass and the girl would plunge strate into the belly of the stolen prey.

With blue orbs locked on the dark wolf, the snow leopard would stretch her long body before stalking silently forward on large paws and short but strong legs. Had the she-wolf not been absorbed by her new meal, she would have easily picked the black and white feline out. She would stop mere feet from the wolf and dead doe, her tail flickig back and forth as it was held just inches off the ground. "Well, that was entertaining." she would tease

The vultures swarmed overhead, silently waiting in the wings for her to abandon her hunger and the remains.  She chewed happily through the muscle and sinew, her gut sucked in to the max.  She paused, licking her lips as her ears flicked in reverse in time to hear, "Well, that was entertaining."

Her eyes grew wide, her rear end moving first, bouncing up and away from the words that were so near.  She found herself on the opposite side of the deer now, having managed a 180.  Her isky bodice was crouched over the deer defensively and her eyes scanning the broad shouldered feline that stood tall over her.  Massive paws and stout, thick legs held up an equally impressive body.  Short rounded ears were tipped toward Costa who let loose an unhappy snarl.

"Cat!  Perhaps you would like to know that it is RUDE to sneak up on someone like that!"  She stepped back, forcing herself to straighten up.  There was no kidding herself, if the kitty wanted the deer, the kitty would get the deer.  Not for the first time in her life she had to curse her size, so petite compared to most anymore.  Seriously, babies were born bigger than her these days!  She licked her lips, tasting the blood that still adorned her chin and cheeks.  "So, is there a reason for your intrusion?  If you want the deer you can have it, I'm not going to pick a fight over scrap meat."

The amused friendly look Kat had was quickly replaced with irritation when the small she wolf let out a snarl and told her she was rude. For a moment all she would do was glare at the scrawny creature as she crouched on the otherside of the doe protectivly. Quietly Kathleen would watch as the wolf seemed to realize that protecting her meal was pointless and stood up.

When asked what the point of her intrusion was Kathleen would have told her she didnt need a point but telling her she could have the scraps just irritated her that much more. "First of all, I dont care if you think I'm rude or not." her tail would flick out to the left as a light growl would rumble up from her chest. "Secondly, if I wanted your scraps we wouldnt be having this conversation."

With that said the Feline would slowly stalk a circle around the doe and she-wolf so that she could examine the scrawny little thing a bit better. "How did you manage to get so....boney, anyway? Did your mother neglect to teach you how to hunt or are you just that bad at hunting?" her first question had been curiosity her next was more insut than anything, but had also held a note of honesty. She truely couldnt figure out how a predator could be such a walking skeleton unless they didnt know how to hunt or simply couldnt hunt.
