The snow was finally starting to melt. Rivaxorus had grown to his full height of forty two inches, even taller then his aunt Avalon. Which he couldn't say it surprised him - he was proud to be so large because he considered himself a shield. Though, with the oncoming of spring it was a far different memory from where he had been born. A world covered in snow and now budding flowers covered the lands. He walked with his brother and sister, the little that remained who were leaving with him. While he was sad it was time, he'd be leaving Zephyra behind - unaware of her choice to ask her mother to leave as well, he never did want to go back on his word.

Raising his head he made for a powerful call towards Marina. Once his call finished, the rather large boy would settle himself. Watching Razor and Epinone carefully with a smile on his face. He was going to take care of them. In fiori as well, after all it was just another step within their lives. While for a moment it had felt like their family had fell apart. He was finally starting to patch up the pieces of his broken heart he had tried to conceal so well.

Spring, it felt a lot warmer then the place he had been born. Razor was not going to be one to argue with that. He was going to Fiori to learn - from what he had been told there were things he could do and teach. As he moved behind his tall brother, his blue crystal eyes looked towards his sister and then to the sky. His brothers voice was so loud - but that was probably just his ego slipping through. It made him let out a small smile before he relaxed and aimed to lean into his sister. It was easier that way.

He certainly hoped Fiori welcomed them with open arms, as stupid as those thoughts could have been. Razor couldn't help but to feel a little content at the moment. It was rare where the boy found moments to simply be himself. This was indeed one of those rare moments. Even if it was going to be leaving on a sad note.

Spring had come, and with it the time was upon them to leave Borealis. Éponine could honestly say that she would not miss the pack once she left. Though she would not admit it aloud Rivaxorus was right... This was no longer their home. Their father would be left behind, along with Holly, but Ép felt sure in her decision to go along with her brothers. She’d miss her sister, her father, but she was also looking forward to the new step in their lives.

Éponine would settle on the earth beside Razor and Riv, hoping that Marina would not take long in arriving. The young girl, just a yearling now, was hoping that this process would be painless. Marina didn’t seem the type to keep them captive... She had given them a choice long ago to take their leave or stick by her. She didn’t even seem mad when Riv first expressed his desire to leave... So why would there be a problem now?

She would lean into Razor, just enjoying the sounds of the spring. There was more mud, with flooding in parts of the gully... But she didn’t mind. Soon it wouldn’t even matter, because they were going to be out of Borealis. “I love you guys.” Éponine would say softly. She just felt it needed to be said. They would make this journey together.

Ooc:: I'm hoping it's right to assume that this takes place after Zephyra's thread.

Marina was hurting. Not in the sense that she’d been physically struck, no, but rather an emotional wound that kept her heart aching in her chest. Her daughter’s request to leave Borealis had come as... As a shock. Marina had always hoped to keep her children close, to have them as a tight knit family. It wasn’t until her daughter made her request that Mari realized she couldn’t keep her babies forever. They couldn’t even really be called babies anymore. Her children were growing up...

They were only a year old... But Zephyra was already making the decision to follow a friend, rather than her family. Part of Marina wanted to be happy, glad that her more distant and harder to approach daughter had found someone she could connect with. But, at the same time, she couldn’t help but feel she was losing a piece of her world... And she realized just how much smaller Borealis was becoming. Before long it was likely to whittle away next to nothing, wasn’t it?

The thought caused her to sigh deeply as she moved to answer Rivaxorus’ call. She had not hoped to build an empire, but she had hoped to expand her family and secure their borders. Sadly this wasn’t going to be the case, and Marina once more felt as though there would be some huge target placed upon them. Smaller sized packs could be seen as easy prey...

Her bicolored orbs of pink and red would fall upon Riv as she arrived. Beside him were his brother and sister... Only Holly was to remain it seemed. The femme would take a breath, speaking in a slow, careful tone.

“So it is time. Spring is upon us.” She would wait, wanting to make sure that this was the reason Rivaxorus had called.

ooc: Yush - and we can skip razor and epinone if you wish.
With one of his siblings staying within the pack, it would be one of his reasons to return for visits. It never did let him think otherwise, it still slightly prickled his heart that he had to do this to Marina. When he got much older - who knew he might decide on another path in his life. However the thick memories of their family seemed to stick well. He stood firmly at his full height, watching Marina. Something did seem a bit off to him. His tail flicked mildly as he bowed his head towards the alphess, he was sorry but not enough to want to stay as sad as that sounded.

"Yes Marina, I've come to ask you to let us go." he said softly as he raised his head. Both his purple and yellow eye also taking note of her own. He had enough respect to make eye contact with her. Somehow he almost considered them equals, it felt almost that way in the recent season. His paws shuffled nervously, it still stood to reason he was nervous. If he were to know Zephyra were to be following him he would also be dearly surprise. The girl had said something of doing it but he had suggested not to. Though he knew himself decisions made on your own were some you held pride in.

ooc: hope you don't mind Zeph joining in

Hearing Riv's call, she finally realised this was it. Spring had arrived, the snow had melted, and it was time for them to leave. Only recently had her mother approved her request, quite sombrely, though had allowed one of her babies to leave the protection of the nest, spread her wings and fly into the unknown where she would shape her new future. She couldn't wait to tell her friend the great news, and quickly padded through the gulley where she found the slightly taller boy and her mother, along with two other unfamiliar canines. Both of them had a similar eyepatch; siblings perhaps? Disappointment brew in her chest at the sight. If only her siblings could come to farewell her, though at least she had spent some time with them in the past few days.

Approaching to stand beside the boy, she whispered into his ear, "Mum let me come with you," She returned her gaze to her mother, chin held high, awaiting further response. Standing beside her friend brought a wave of confidence over her, the power to make her own decisions. She felt like an adult, and technically already was one.

Marina would give a small nod when Riv spoke. He was a young leader in his own right, and Mari respected him in that sense. He had certainly captured the attention of her daughter, and while she was not too thrilled with the idea of letting her go she knew that it wasn’t right to keep Zephyra here forever. Zeph was young, but certainly capable of making her own decisions. By her age Marina was already doing that and more, so she felt sure her little one would be alright. But could one blame the mother for worrying?

The rainbow femme would close her eyes, about to speak when she heard Zephyra’s voice. Her daughter’s words were almost a knife in her heart. She didn’t want her to go. But sometimes to do the right thing for the ones you loved you had to do just that.

“I told you before, Riv, that I would not hinder you and your siblings, nor any member of this pack, should they choose to leave.” She would let out a soft sigh. “My daughter wishes to go with you, and she too has been released from Borealis. You are all free to go, with well wishes.” Marina would open her eyes again and turn away from the children. “Farewell.” She saw no reason to linger... And so she went on her way.

for a moment he was surprised, hearing Zephyra near him his eyes went wide. Though of course he shouldn't have been too surprised, she had said she wanted to ask to go with him. However it had meant Marina was letting a part of herself go. If it was one thing that Rivaxorus could try to understand - it was vice versa with him. He had lost his mother, he could only imagine if Marina was unable to see her daughter. It made him swallow for a moment, and the same as before the alphess would explain that they were free to go. They were not shackled to this beautiful pack. After she was done, Rivaxorus would take a moment before she left.

"Marina.... I'll take care of her... your daughter. She's just as bright as you are - and maybe this will be a reason for me to visit. Thank you... for everything you've done." he smiled, it may not have been much but she had given his family a home after they had been torn apart. Supported his father despite being a stranger - and with that she was entrusting her daughter to him. He was collecting quiet the following other than his siblings. However with a dip of his head, he smiled at Zephyra. Gesturing that they were leaving as his siblings would follow.

Listening to her mother as she spoke with erect ears, it appeared no wolf of Borealis was confined to the pack. All this time she had thought it would be a great difficulty persuading the alphess - her own mother - to let her leave, though now it seemed so easy to let go. Could anyone just pack their bags and leave? Surely it wasn't that simple, though who else would want to leave? If she hadn't ever met the boy beside her, she would have stayed in Borealis without a doubt.

Her heart couldn't help but to pound when the rainbow-pelted woman announced their release from the pack, exchanging well wishes for their travel and future. It seemed the two other canines - who she guessed were Riv's siblings - were also coming with them, and she didn't mind that. If only her siblings could come with her, though that seemed impossible with her brother the heir and her sisters scarce within the pack. It didn't matter anyway; she'd probably continue to harass them. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment at her friend's words, saying that he would take care of her. That was...nice? "So long, Mum," she farewelled with a small smile. "I'll visit, and that's a promise."

Listening to the Spirit of Borealis as she addressed them Ep could feel a certain stirring in her gut. A series of butterflies and nervousness, a want for her sister, and the need to leave all at once. Borealis had merely taken over what once was home. Moved them away from the lands that they grew up in. The woman would release them with no hesitation, and Eponine wondered why. Why was it so easy to let members go? She looked so... So sad. Perhaps she felt defeated in a way? She’d frown, listening to her brother, Zeph, and Marina exchange their words. Then, when all was said and done, without a word she too would turn to leave and follow after the others.
