Ah, at last spring was in the air! Rœkia took a deep breath as Wolf hovered above her, wings flapping in the light breeze. She grinned at the smell of fresh rains that had recently passed that would bring moisture to wooded lands and with it a plethora of fungi. Keen garnet eyes hunted for the red tops of the Fly Agaric Mushroom, a rare fungi but a useful one that like many mushrooms could be dried. She did not know yet if the potency of the mushroom increased or waned with drying but she had every intention of finding out. First, however, she had to actually find her quarry.
Slipping through the new-growth forest she hunted with both eyes and nose. Nearby she could see the fallen trunk of what once was a great tree now felled and laying starkly upon the ground. Wolf landed lightly on part of it as his mistress went to snooping around, pausing every so often to gauge her surroundings. She didn't want to get eaten by a bear hungry after waking from hibernation.
