Ebony paws carried him to familiar territory, flickering lights dancing above a pool of water. A smile rose unbidden to white marked face. Hymn had missed this sight, fireflies lighting up the spring night as they circled around his form. Moving with deliberate slowness the big man moved himself so he was sitting beside the lake, the insects swinging around him in an elegant dance to music only they could hear. Brilliant cyans gazing about in wonder as though he had never seen anything like this before, the world had never lost its magic for him. His three years of living leaving him relatively unscarred, a rare phenomenon no doubt.

She would take the time to go on a bit of exploring, somewhere not too far from her pack but not too close either. She wasn't used to pack life, and her paws itched and begged to go exploring again like she used to. The only difference was, this time she was more cautious then she used to be. Ever since her encounter that one night with the bad man, she was more careful about who she was around. Generally males in this case, because now she was aware that not everyone was a friend.

The girl arrived at the lake to see fireflies dancing over the water. They twirled in the air, filling the night with their pretty little lights. She was awestruck, they is until she caught sight of someone else. Almost in an instant, her tail tucked as she stopped in hesitation...carefully scenting the air, she detected that the other wolf was a male...great. Of course, almost everyone she was running into lately were males. Dual hued eyes watched him, her body in fight or flight mode as she debated leaving, or staying and keeping her distance. Normally, she would have approached without hesitation and struck up a conversation with just about anyone. But it had changed, and now she wasn't sure what to do.
