Walk | Talk | Think

Callisto walked with her head and tail hanging, feeling drained and emotionally spent. Somewhere on the other side of the territory, in a den that had been thankfully abandoned and just large enough to work, Jakart slept, and her irritating cat companion sat watch. There had been a part of her that had been reluctant to leave the grey wolf even for this small trek - seeing him nearly killed in a flood sort of put things into perspective - but that same voice irked her enough to purposefully ignore it and set off, leaving Belladonna behind in her place. The cat was not as interested in medicine as Calli was herself, but she knew more or less when something was wrong and had been warned strictly to come find her if anything went amiss.

It was the best she could settle for, and the black and grey healer needed a moment away anyway before she was driven mad by her own repressed feelings. Her grey speckled cheeks shifted as she wrinkled her nose, silver-blue eyes narrowing. Oh how she wished for simpler times, when she was nothing more than a reclusive pup learning about plants from the best her pack had to offer her. She had known nothing of pain and suffering then, knew nothing of fear and estrangement. Knew nothing of caring. And that was probably the worst of it.

Her expression relaxed into a weary scowl as she exhaled a heavy breath. That was definitely the worst of it. And it was because of that caring sense that she was out here in the first place, getting frazzled over the misfortune of another to the point that she was in tears upon finding them alive. And if she did not return with more plants ready to aid in his recovery, she was likely to spill some more. With a rolling shrug of her bony shoulders, Callisto set forward into the thick vegetation that made up the central part of the broken down stone structure, eyes and nose alert and scanning for any particular scents or plants that would prove useful to her.

From a distance Soliel could see that the dark woman looked miserable. Though it was impossible for her to tell exactly what was wrong, the fact was that nothing would keep the tri-colored two year old from guessing at what was making the she-wolf so upset. Hell guessing was all Soleil ever seemed to do here anyway based on the fact that she couldn't understand the language everyone seemed to speak.

As she approached the other wolf, Soleils mind was coming up for reasons as to why the she-wolf might be upset. Two of the many instances that crossed her mind were death and heartbreak. Both could break anyone down physically and mentally, leaving the creature subject to the situations looking tired and miserable.

Soleil would stop only a few yards from the woman. She had done what her silly but handsome friend Xeph had done for her, which was to make sure she could be seen in the peripherals of the other wolf. Turquoise orbs would look for any sine of retaliation as she lowered her head to show that she was no threat. She needed to be ready for anything incase she was misunderstood. It was times like these that she was greatful for her fathers training sessions. " Est ce que tu vas bien?" her vocals would come softly as she asked the other woman if she was alright.

Walk | Talk | Think

She moved slowly, methodically, taking time to glance in either direction while the dark nose at the end of her muzzle twitched with each scent breath she inhaled. With all the greenery that grew in this place, covering the decrepit stone building almost entirely from view, the healer could only assume that there had to be something with a purpose rooted in this vicinity, and she had too much riding on being able to find it to be careless or risky. There's something here, Callisto thought stubbornly, and catching a whiff of something she realized she was right.

Only it was not the scent of a useful plant. Her brow knit again as her grey legs stilled, holding her in place as her head turned in the direction the scent had reached her. Wolf. Of course there was someone else here. Why would they not be here? Of all the places she had been to during her vacation, this had been the one to show the most promise to her as a healer, as someone interested in plants and their various properties. Was this another healer on the hunt for something useful? They better not take anything I need.

Already working herself up into a defensive attitude, Callisto fixed her cold, silver-blue eyes on the wolf as she came into sight, ears tipping back and her tail flicking with agitation. Words that made no sense to her, that held no meaning, were uttered with purpose, a questioning lilt to the stranger's voice the only indication the dark colored wolf had to indicate a question had been asked. She continued to eye the stranger warily, irritated to have been stopped and irked more by the fact she spoke gibberish - or at least what sounded like it to Calli. "Take your games somewhere else," she answered coldly, brushing off the question and the look of the woman as she purposefully turned her attention away and began scenting the air again to resume her plant hunt.
