The boy was lounging by the glowing water, one leg extended so that his toes brushed along the surface of the water. It was hard for him to muster the energy to play among the tree’s roots as he usually did, this was in part because of the heat of the summer day but also very much due to the loss of his mother. He couldn’t understand why she had left, had they been bad children?

That idea hurt him greatly, he always strived to be good. He wanted so very badly to be like his father, to make him proud. Had he hurt his mother in that way? Quentin sighed and rolled away from the water, and curled slightly upon himself. It was all too much to really think about.

Loneliness had become an all too familiar friend of sorts. Since the day he'd been able to walk and talk, he felt like his mother kept pushing him away with each day that passed. Even now, when he tried to go talk to her the other day, she turned around and walked away. Even now, he tried to curl up with her for a nap and she nearly jumped out of her skin, running off till he couldn't see her anymore. He was so confused...why did his mom treat him like this? What did he do?

Sighing, the boy walked around the territory with his head and tail low. He didn't really know anyone else here except for his alpha Leo, who was family as far as he knew. Mom's...cousin or something like that. But he didn't have any friends, and evidently he practically had no mother either. It wasn't until he almost walked into one of the ponds that scattered around here that he stopped, his ears twitching as he heard the faint sound of someone nearby. Curious, Valefor moved around the trees, violet eyes falling on a form by the waters edge. He was curious, shy too...he didn't want to feel like he was bothering anyone like he seemed to bother his mom...still, he could at least say hi right? "Um..H-hi there.."
