Her paws dragged on the earth, her bells ringing with each shaky step. Usually she enjoyed the sound of them, but at the moment they were making her head ring even more. Each breath was hard to get through her lungs, and it felt like she had swallowed a gallon of water. Trying to swallow hard, she ended up in a rough coughing fit instead. Jaelle stopped walking to try and catch her breath, her throat burning like she had swallowed acid. She kept trying to move on, trying to find her tribe of gypsies. She hadn't seen any of them for so long now, and she was worried that they were gone for good. A garbled whine passed through her clenched teeth, each step getting harder and harder to take. She just needed shelter from this damn rain, as it slowly soaked her monotone coat. She didn't even notice the scent of the pack borders, her nose was dripping with snot. Sniffling, the usually beautiful woman felt herself starting to fade. She had been walking along the edge of the pack lines, but without smelling it she passed it without realizing it. She only took about five steps in before her knees gave out. She fell to the ground with a thud, her bells giving one last ring as she collapsed. Her jaws parted to howl for help, but she just coughed until she nearly blacked out.

What was that foreign noise ringing above the constant sound of falling rain? How peculiar. Xephyris was on high alert as he headed toward the borders to check for anything strange. It was difficult to catch any scents with the wet weather, but it wasn't long before he spotted an unfamiliar figure trespassing, albeit she was a gorgeous sight to behold. However, she had still crossed the borders without stopping, and beauty alone wasn't going to excuse her ignorance. The man began to charge toward the woman, his tail whipping out behind him in a straight line, lips curling to reveal his fangs as he approached the intruder. Before he could reach her, she collapsed suddenly to the ground, a weak, gurgled howl escaping her lips followed by a rough coughing fit. She was calling for help.

No longer concerned that this wolf was intruding ignorantly, he abandoned his hostile intentions, approaching her more carefully, although still with haste. He stopped just a few feet from her, realizing how ill she was. "What are you doing out in the rain?" he asked gruffly, in a tone that almost seemed to scold her, his brows knit together in a scowl. There wouldn't be anything he could do to help her, but perhaps his pack mates would know what to do. At the very least, he might be able to help carry her to shelter. She clearly needed it, and he didn't see any reason to turn her away. Unless it was determined by a healer that her sickness would threaten the rest of them - for now, he would spare her a chance, and he tilted his head back to let loose an urgent howl for assistance.

Armai wasn't really one for border patrols. Sure she could smell the border just fine but in all honesty who would think that a blind wolf was intimidating. When it boiled down to a fight she would be useless so she'd let the others handle that. Instead, as the packs only healer, she decided to stock up on all the herbs she could find before winter rolled around. Already the weather was absolute crap with all the rain so she knew she'd have to work fast to get enough before everything dried up and stopped growing. At least with Nox's help she could collect the plants she needed before the sickly weather arrived.

It was the weird tinkling and jangling sound that caught her attention and drug her out in the rain. It sounded oddly close to the borders and the girl had never heard anything quite like it. Curiosity drove her to nudge Nox before she padded from her den with her companion in tow. She didn't mind the rain too much as it trickled down her coat. As she walked further the sound of someone hacking their lungs out caught her attention. It seemed to be in the same direction as where the jingly sound was coming from.

Her pace quickened as she realized someone else had beat her there. It was one of the males that had been at the meeting. At least she wouldn't be alone with the stranger, but from the coughing she heard it sounded like the someone was sick. She heard the male speak in a rough tone towards the stranger as Armai walked up, keeping her distance from Xephris yet inching towards the female he'd just questioned. The rain was clogging her senses but she could still smell the mucus that ran from the woman's nose. It seemed sickly weather was here early.

"I'd stay away from her. She's really sick and she needs to get out of the rain so I can help her."

She didn't know the woman, but judging from the serious coughing fits she was having, the mucus she could smell, and the fact she hadn't even noticed the pack border and had collapsed out here it was serious. She'd have to see if she was running a fever but that would have to be in the comfort of shelter. She'd have to be careful though, assuming her pack mate would even help, as this disease traveling through the pack would be bad news. At the very least she could quarantine the female so it wouldn't travel to anyone else hopefully.

"Will you help take her to my den?" She asked Xephris. Hopefully Riv wouldn't mind. They weren't supposed to condone trespassing, but surely there had to be exceptions?

The call sounded urgent, he cursed himself for not being able to answer it sooner. Xephyris was the one who was the source of the call. In the middle of the rain no less it sounded very important. Rivaxorus was quick to show, already it seemed Armai had reached the location. Making him default in searching for Nox - he doubted the cat liked the rain very much. She seemed to have instructed to Xephyris to stay away. "How contagious do you think it is Armai?" he asked as he stopped next to Armai. Watching the strange wolf who had collapsed across their borders. He didn't wish for a sick wolf to remain in their lands to infect others - but if they could save her he also wanted to take that chance.

"Make sure she stays in your den, we can't have her infecting our members. They come first over her." If the healer so wished it, he would grant her that much. He looked at his warrior though. It was up to his own will to decide if he wanted to help carry the sick to Armai's den. He also knew it was a healers duty, but he was wary of losing a healer when they were short on them. She was important.

It would seem that she was drawing in quite the crowd. She blinked her tired eyes at a grey and white man as he came near her, a tiny smile split her maw. Jae's tail beat on the ground ever so slightly, the bells that wrapped around her tail crying out. "I guess I needed a bath," she choked. Even though each word hurt coming out, she couldn't help but reply. Even though she was the most sick she had been in her entire life, her more cheerful side was still showing. She forgot about being shy, her mind cleared of it. She knew she needed help, and as three wolves began to circle her she realized that she had to have done something wrong. When the girl said she was really sick and to stay away, a pained whine slipped out of her mouth. This was a pack, wasn't it? The male who came next confirmed her thoughts. She looked to the one who held dominance in his voice and posture, her brown and blue eyes trying to meet his gaze. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. I didn't even smell the pack boundaries..." she sniffed, her head shaking back and forth. "I really don't want to be any trouble, I can go." She said, but when Jaelle went to stand back on her paws she fell right back to the ground. A rough coughing fit followed, a trickle of blood coming from her maw. "Maybe... not..." she rasped, nearly breathless. Each time her sides expanded it hurt, and she flinched slightly.

ooc;; Sorry, had to rush this to get it up. So sorry it's so bad.

The man startled slightly when she wagged her tail and a loud jingling noise filled the air. He looked to the bells tangled around her tail. How peculiar - why did she have such a contraption attached to her? But, there was no time to worry about that. Xephyris shook his head as the collapsed woman answered him. Joking at a time like this. "Nonsense," he muttered in disapproval, his silver gaze meeting her duo-colored eyes, "Don't waste your breath, you obviously have very little to spare." Just as he finished speaking, the pack's healer arrived. She advised him to stay away from the stranger on the ground, so Xephyris took a few steps back, his lip twitching slightly. He wanted to help the woman, but he wasn't sure he wanted to get sick and possibly infect his pack mates.

When Armai asked if he could help her take the stranger to her den, Xephyris nodded slowly, his brow furrowed. Was he going to need treatment as well? It didn't matter to him though - he wasn't going to back out and leave this up to someone else. Before he could make a move, Riv appeared as well, assessing the situation. Silver eyes glanced between the two; it seemed the consensus was that they would try to help this stranger, despite the risk. So, his gaze shifted back to the one in need of help, watching as she tried pitifully to stand up, offering to leave if she was causing too much trouble. Yet, she could not even stand on her own paws, and as her coughing fit continued, blood trickled from her maw. Pain was evident upon her features as she tried to breathe.

"You can't even stand on your own paws," Xephyris rumbled, stepping towards her, "I'll have to carry you if you can't walk. There's no other option." He shifted himself so that he was right next to her, uncomfortably close, so that his thick coat brushed against her soaked pelt. No wonder she was ill. He could feel the heat of her fever radiating through her drenched fur. He crouched down so that it would be easy for her to hop on. He waited for her to move, hoping she'd be able to hang on tightly enough. Glancing at her sideways, although not sure if she'd notice through the haze of her sickness, he'd grin slightly. "Just try not to breathe on me," he said as he waited, "I don't want to end up like you."

After she'd noticed that Xephris had taken a couple steps back (judging by the shuffling sound of his feet) and then after she turn her heads towards Rivaxorous as he came up on the scene. "How contagious do you think it is Armai?" It was hard to tell how contagious it was from where she stood. She'd have to "look" her over before she could given an estimate on that so she merely just shook her head.

"It just depends on what she has."

She returned her attention back to the other female and Armai decided to move closer. She could always clean herself after leaving her den each time if this girl were to return with her. She'd just stay away from the others for a while while she worked on getting her back to a more healthy state. Ears flicked forward as the girl began speaking again in a seemingly painful voice. She heard her trying to rise to her paws before falling back to the ground again this time with coughing and then the scent of blood following it. Armai frowned softly trying to keep the worry off of her face. Whatever this was it was worse than anything she'd ever been around before.

She was surprised when the male, Xephris, offered to help carry her. She'd asked him because she doubted she could move Jaelle herself, but she really had expected him to risk his own well being to help a stranger. For her it was a natural state of mind when it involved a sickly wolf. It just felt like what she was supposed to do. For others though she certainly expected there to be a higher amount of will power for self preservation to take over. She wasn't complaining though. If Riv was going to let her treat this woman then she'd need all the help she could get to get her into a warm and dry environment.

"If you can manage to climb onto him I'mm make sure you don't fall off." She said to the girl. She wasn't that big but she could at least keep her weight from shifting. She waited a second before adding to Xephris. "Make sure you scrub yourself clean afterwards and stay away from her face if you can help it. It won't be good if this spreads."

The male now noticed that the sick woman was still conscious. She didn't seem like she meant them any harm, but he knew if anyone else got sick he would still blame himself. Yet how would his members see him if he let her die - he wouldn't be able to do that to her either. A frown hit his throat as she spoke. He carefully approached the new woman, but kept his distance. "We can't let you leave when you'd pretty much die out there, just try not to cough on xephyris." he spoke kindly as he gave a soft smile. "My name is Rivaxorus II Adravendi I'm the alpha of these lands I'll walk with you and Xephyris to Armai's den." That way he wasn't leaving the man behind either. He looked to the smaller male, Riv was also here just in case he needed help. Rivaxorus however refused to get sick when his members needed him.

"Lead the way Armai." , he said knowing that she wouldn't be able to see him nodding his head. The sooner all of them were out of the rain and otherwise the better. He would follow, make sure that everyone was safe. The willows were indeed a nice savior from the wetness. After all where he had lived here before he knew the terrain fairly well. His gray tail flicked behind him as he watched the blind healers movements.

The silver man told her not to waste her breath, to which she let out a garbled chuckle. It rattled painfully in her throat, but she tried not to flinch. She was so used to being dependent on others, and now that she was left alone by her clan she was enjoying the company. Even if she felt like crap. When the healer came the male took a step back, and her ears pinned against her skull. She really didn't want to spread any of this to them, she hadn't even realized that she had crawled her way into pack lands. The offer of them taking care of her was just too much, but leaving proved to be futile. The gray man then told her that there was no other option, and that he needed to take her. She sighed, he was right. She could hardly stand, she would have to accept the offer or die out here in the field. Her blue and brown gaze followed him as he crouched near her, picking up his uncomfortable feelings being around her. She whimpered softly, but tried her best to shift on to him. He had crouched down so that it would be easier for her. She wobbled as she raised herself up, leaning heavily on his shoulder. She then pretty much flung herself over him, her top half on one side and her bottom on the other side of him. She felt silly, and it hurt a little bit with his spine digging into her belly. She was going to have to deal with it though, it was better then stumbling all over the place. He told her not to breath on him, and she laughed again which made her cough harshly. Her belly rattled against his back, making his bones dig further into her. She flinched, but there was still a smile on her face. "You'd be lucky to look like me, pretty boy," she wheezed, her bells ringing out with every movement.

The blind girl told her not to fall off. She nodded, but knowing that she would not be able to see it she let out a small woof. "My name... is Jaelle by the way," came her raspy voice, feeling slightly awkward with her gathering of strangers around her. The alpha spoke of the man who was carrying her, naming him Xephyris. He then introduced himself as the alpha, and she lifted her head slightly to look at him. "Thank you, for everything. If there is anything," she broke off, a rough sounding cough leaving her maw. She angled her head away from Xeph so she didn't cough on him, before her head flopped down from the exertion of her movements. They probably would understand the rest. Riv then also named the healer girl, Armai. Too tired to really say anything else, her eyes slid closed as she waited to be taken to the den.

Xephyris steadied himself as he let the weak, sick little lady lean into him. She wobbled and struggled, but at last she was able to throw herself over him. Her bells jingled as she moved, and he had to chuckle slightly - he would have to inquire as to where she'd found them at a later time. If she survived treatment, that is. Bracing his muscles, he would slowly stand upright with her weight now upon his back. He was glad that he worked his muscles and endurance every day, otherwise he may have struggled to lift her. He turned his head just slightly to face her, as she laughed, even as she coughed, just to see her smile. Despite her condition, she somehow stayed in good spirits. What a funny woman; he liked her spunk. When she spoke, voice wheezing, a rumbling laugh escaped him. "Well, you're right about that," he responded, meeting her glazed eyes briefly - if she wasn't so sickly, she'd surely be stunning.

Now he turned to face forward, focusing on his pack mates instead. His attention moved to the healer, who advised him to scrub himself well after this. He grimaced, but nodded solemnly. Was it really that contagious? He was a strong male, surely he wouldn't get sick? Still, he would follow Armai's instruction and clean up after dropping off the strange woman - who finally was able to introduce herself as Jaelle - so that he wouldn't contract the disease or spread it to anyone else. He remained silent as Riv introduced himself and his pack mates, then gave the word to get moving. Xeph nodded, letting Armai lead the way to her den where the stranger would be cared for. He hoped after all this trouble that Jaelle would make a full recovery. What a shame it would be if the beauty died after all their efforts. When they finally arrived at the healer's den, Xephyris would crouch down again and allow the woman to get off. Now, the rest would be up to Armai, but he would stay close in case his help was needed again.

Armai flicked an ear as Riv, the girl now known as Jaelle, and Xephris talked. When she was sure the other woman was on top of Xeph, and at Riv's cue, Armai reluctantly took the lead. She would have preferred to stay back due to how slow she was, she was still learning her way around after all, but he den wasn't too awfully far away. Occasionally she'd hear Nox make a sound if it looked like she was going to step where she probably shouldn't and they made it to her den without incident.

She led them inside letting Xephris place Jaelle wherever as she moved to the back of her den where she had already begun storing all her herbs. She sniffed around for a moment before picking up boneset, elderberries, and marigold before padding back over to Jaelle and placing a sprig of each in front of the girl's head. "You need to eat those. The berries will help your immune system and the other is boneset which will help ease your sickness and will help with any aches and pains if you have any and the Marigold will help ease a sore throat. If you want I can also give you some lavender to help you sleep." She then turned to Xephris and placed some elderberries in front of him too. "Scrub yourself clean and eat those just in case. If you start to feel sick come to me immediately and for the time being I'd stay away from the rest of the pack." She hated quarantining them both, but she'd never even heard of a virus being so aggressive. It even seemed deadly which scared her slightly. It would just be best if she kept them near her for observation.
