The pack was growing at a faster pace then she expected, and she knew that they would have to expand sooner rather then later to ensure there was enough room for their survival. She had searched around the pines, and in the end chose the mines as it could be used for safety in the event something happened. With Yfir as their neighbor on the opposite end, it made sense to choose this location so they weren't bordering the Vikings at every angle.
