Creed had left Celestial a few days ago in the early morning. Regulus seemed to have settled into his new position in full stride and the aging male was happy to let him. He knew once summer rolled around he'd most likely be retiring. It was hard for him to believe that he'd be eight by the time his next birthday rolled around. The time in his life seemed to have flown by and it left Creed feeling quite dissatisfied with the things he hadn't been able to accomplish yet.

There were things he was proud of though between reuniting with Surreal, joining her pack, and even earning the rank of secondary alpha. Something he'd never thought to achieve in the entirety of his life as it was never anything he'd purposefully sought out. He was fortunate enough to have caught up with two of his cousins and had even found both of his siblings, even if one of them had departed once more. He respected Cross' wishes, and while he missed his sibling, he only wished the best for him.

The only thing Creed truly regretted was his lack of a love life. He'd spent so much of his younger years focusing on other things that by the time he'd settled down he was already behind. He watched Surreal as she was on her third litter and he couldn't help but feel a bit envious. He always enjoyed being around kids and had always dreamed of having his own. He was old fashioned in his ways though and since no one had caught his eye he doubted kids would be in his near future. He was almost getting to be too old anyways.

Not wishing to be wrapped up in his thoughts of what he didn't, and most likely wouldn't, have the fluffy male had set out towards a place he hadn't been to in a while. The last time he'd been near Obsidian beach was when Avalon had claimed her pack in the ruins of Donostrea. A part of him still wondered where the last of the Elementas had disappeared to, but with the scents as stale as they were he doubted he'd ever figure out. Even Locha had vanished on him leaving Creed dumbfounded as to how a family as large of theirs could seemingly just be non-existent.

It was dark by the time he arrived at the beach. The moon hung in full as he approached the beach. It glittered across the black sand causing the granules to sparkle and glitter. He could appreciate the choice of territory when Donostrea had claimed it and the prairie. Of course they now were available for free range so Creed took advantage of it. Like he'd expected, no scents of any of the old Dono members could be found. Deciding here was a good place as any he came to a halt not far from where the waves met the shore and he plopped his rump against the sand and closed his eyes. A chilly breeze blew towards him from the ocean ruffling his fur yet it didn't pierce his coat as harshly as it would if the winter hadn't been so mild. It seemed that, even farther north, it wouldn't be as cold this year. Not that he minded. So long as it wasn't blazing hot he didn't care. At least he wasn't baking in his thick coat like he did in the summer time.

I could lie, couldn't I, couldn't I?

every thing that kills me makes me feel alive

she had stumbled across this piece of land only briefly once before, but for whatever reason the woman did not stay long. now, she wished she had, for she could had took in the beach under the broad daylight. the night was starless, and the only thing was the moon that cheerfully shone its light upon the ground. her ears twitched to the sound of the flowing waves, and the distance cries of sea birds. yomi crept along the water banks, and with each passing second the sea foams would lick at her wrists as she pressed onward. the aroma of the beach was inevitably mixed with the smell of salt, water, and the freshness of winter. the knowledge of the cold season sent a shiver down her spine as she paused in her steps, and briefly looked out toward the sea.

there was something impossibly lonely about the waters here, unlike that of a creek, a lake, or even a puddle. she couldn't place it upon her mind to describe it, but she could relate. strange really, because she felt connected to a piece of lifeless body (but, it wasn't a husk, it held actual organisms deep within). her pelt began to thicken for the incoming storms winter would bring. still, her body quivered with the coldness of the sand as her paws dug deeper into it. the fine grains shifted deeper into the ground as her legs propelled her forward, the young woman's mind half-submerged in a matter of deep thoughts. she was, however, disappointed that this land held no whatsoever life beyond that of herself.

or...did it? the contrast was stark, even when night reclaimed its kingdom. her perception gave her the image of a wolf, dark in colors, and aged, but nonetheless handsome. at first, the young woman stood there, her heart heavy from hesitation, though her mind told her to go to him. either way, she thought she was close enough to warrant a sign for him to know of her presence, whether it be her scent or a noise. she gulped, and while her cheeks flared with warmth and her heartbeat increased, her legs began to move slowly; gravity had the upper hand this time. "h-hello, oh um, are you here to, um, look?" she asked.

The man sat in his relaxed position for a long time enjoying the wind in his face and the salty sea air. Birds still could be heard occasionally screaming at who knows what, but he paid them no mind. It felt good to be away for a while. He enjoyed Celestial, but he knew the minute he returned he owed Baine a favor. He'd promised the younger girl a trip to one of the packs and he was going to make good on his promise. There were a few he had in mind that were friendly with Celestial and he was sure any of them would be good practice for the new Emissary.

An ear would flick automatically towards the sound of another wolf approaching him. Eyes would slowly open and he turned his gaze to stare at a rather interesting looking character. Part of her pelt was darker while the rest seemed to be silver in the moonlight. Teal eyes would study her noting the hesitance in her steps. Not wishing to feel threatening he offered her a warm smile and a soft tail wag as a greeting hoping it would alleviate any possibilities of nervousness or fear.

"h-hello, oh um, are you here to, um, look?"

A chuckle would work its way softly past his vocals as she spoke. Such an odd way to put it, but she was right nonetheless. He was here to observe, but mostly to relax really. He would have done some star-gazing but, other than the moon, nothing seemed to be out tonight. It still was a beautiful sight regardless.

"Aye, Ah am." He paused for a moment, his eyes slowly drifting back towards the sea. "Wha' lured ye ou' here?" He couldn't help but return the question. He was always curious as to what brought others to travel to different areas. For him it was the allure of adventure and the thrill of a new place. Tonight it was the calming scent of the ocean and the enjoyable scenery of the night and the sea.

there is something fundamentally wizened about him. well, there always were something about elder wolves that suggested of their wisdom and knowledge. maybe that was why, upon hearing his talk, yomi's body straightened itself, her eyes widened a bit, and her ears were held stiff. she gave all her attention to the bigger, and older, man, and at the same time, a slow curl of anxiety uncoiled itself from her breast. there came no wind, yet she still felt prickles of coldness bleeding through her nervous system. of course he was here to look! what else could he do beyond that? inwardly, yomi reprimanded herself on her silly question, but she was also relieved that the man before her did not say much. the bi-colored female struggled with herself to answer, as her words were, once again, stuck in that strange corner, once again. she thought about the stars, which there were none. she thought about the moon, which there was only one and one that looked the same most of the times. minutes probably passed, with yomi's mouth hung open slightly, ready to let words roll out at any moment. "s-stars, i came to look at them..." she huffed, softly, and briefly took in a breathe. ...but, um, it doesn't look to be that starry tonight, huh?" she laughs, perhaps a bit too loud, or maybe it came out too soft; she doesn't know because her brain only briefly registered it the second she stopped. her heartbeat quickened at the second pause between her first and second sentence, but it was okay now.

"s-stars, i came to look at them..." Creed couldn't help but notice the nervousness she exhibited as she spoke. The inhale after she'd spoken her first sentence and her overall posture was proof enough of it. "...but, um, it doesn't look to be that starry tonight, huh?" His gaze would slowly shift upwards and he stared at the starless sky with an amount of pity. She was right of course. Star gazing was such a wonderful activity though if she was looking to do it the beach probably wasn't the best of spots. The weather was temperamental at best in certain areas and this place was no exception. The winter was hardly a time for stargazing.

"'Tis a pity they aren' ou' tonigh'. Not many like ta stargaze." He'd give a brief pause before realizing he didn't know her name. "Ah'm Creed Ancora. Wha' migh' be yer name?" He'd question softly.

He was hoping that if he remained relaxed and calm that he wouldn't make her uncomfortable. While he hadn't been expecting company, he certainly wasn't opposed to it. She was a quiet one but he didn't dislike her company. He'd always been the adventurous and friendly sort and would never turn down the opportunity to make new acquaintances. She was no exception to this rule no matter how quiet or antisocial she appeared. In fact it only made him want to be her friend even more. He was determined that she'd warm up to him. He was a friendly guy after all. There were very few wolves that disliked him. He wasn't going to add her to the list.
