Wyndelin stood on his hind legs as he gazed up at the lovely spring blossoms that were decorating the trees in the orchard.  He’d gone off on his own again.  He hoped Gabriel wouldn’t be to upset with him, he hadn’t gone all that far really.  To be honest though his plan to go hunting wasn’t going that well.  He was sniffing around for rabbits but then he’d got distracted by the thick perfume of scents in the orchard and his hunting plans were cast aside.  Wynde sighed…  he should get back to hunting.  He was hungry and staring at flowers wasn’t doing him or anyone else any favors.

Gideon had seen the lad pass from the front of his den. He appeared deep in thought, and what with Gideon sitting within the earth and downwind to boot, he wasn't surprised that he escaped detection. When the brown youth paused to stare at something Gideon himself could not see, he had to crane his neck over a tuft of vibrant young shoots to even keep sight of him. Surely the boy was no younger than he had been when he'd set out on his own. Color him curious, he slowly and cautiously wiggled his way out of his den. He had no intentions of disturbing the day's peace, gods no. But it was a... pleasant distraction from his own self-reflection. One could only suffer their own thoughts for so long before seeking out new content.

The wind carried his scent to him, but it held nothing of meaning to him. He knew it was a young male he gaze at, though that was perfectly evident in his meager build and size. He moved with something like ingrained caution. There was something serene about it, or as least he was willing to venture towards the philosophical, even if it was only to provide his own amusement. Like looking at something through a microscope, he gazed on and pondered, unaware the wind had changed...

Wyndelin flopped on his belly with a sigh. He just couldn’t get motivated to hunt it seemed despite the gnawing ache in his stomach. He was just tired. Course if he didn’t eat soon then he’d be even more tired… oh fine he had to do this. Wyndelin got to his feet and started tracking, hoping that he might pick up the scent of some other creatures leftover kill. He’d been scavenging a good bit lately, there was only so much the two boys could take down themselves and of course Wyndelin had to go off on his own and get himself lost. Good job idiot….

Wyndelin froze as a change in the wind brought with it the scent of another wolf and he turned to see a large, earthen male with pale blue streaking through his coat. Wynde’s fur stood on end but he didn’t bolt. One ear flicked down. “Umm…. hello?”
