If It Means A Lot To You
Creed had woken up that morning with a single thought on his brain as he patrolled the borders. He was getting a bit too old for this. More and more his thoughts drifted to the fact he'd be eight in the summer and he'd inwardly cringe at it. He didn't want to be old. Not that he knew anyone that did want to be an old fart, but he really didn't want to be old. None of it seemed really fun for him. The aching bones and joints, the lack of energy, and overall not being able to do all the things he was used to doing. Telling crazy stories to pups, that part sounded rather enjoyable. He wasn't one to sit still and relax. The thought of doing nothing bothered him. Still he knew that this summer he wanted to retire. Maybe not be classified as an elder yet, but Regulus would certainly want someone a bit younger by his side soon and Creed felt like he'd done a good job at being a Right Wing. He did want a bit of relaxation and freedom before he wasn't able to travel like he used to. He still wanted to take Baine on their trip together and it certainly would be easier without duties as Right Wing as well. He paused on his patrol, not too far from the center of the territory, and let out a howl for Regulus. He probably could have took the time to follow his scent but this was far easier. It was best to let him know early just in case he needed time to find another Right Wing to take his place once he stepped down. Walk, "Talk" Think |

He’d been meaning to ask Creed about when he’d like to retire. Since Regulus had a replacement in mind, and felt steady enough to have his Right Wing be his own age, he was ready to let Creed rest and enjoy his twilight years. So he was on his way to Creed’s den when he heard the wolf himself call for him. A grin rolled into place over his features, and he turned, lengthening his stride to an easy, bounding lope, reaching the older male in a short moment.
“I was looking for you, Creed.” He stated cheerfully, bumping his shoulder lightly against the smaller male before taking a seat across from him, tail tapping the ground amiably. “But I’ll let you tell me what you wanted first, in case it’s urgent.” Creed didn’t look like anything was really badly wrong, so Regulus was happy to sit and listen to the older male.

It wasn't long before Creed's teal eyes picked out the vibrant crimson form of the Archangel. He offered the younger male a warm welcoming smile. He was slightly surprised to hear that Regulus had already been looking for him and he couldn't help but wonder if it was about the same thing he wanted to talk to the other male about. He leaned into the friendly chest bump and his tail waved softly behind him. Creed took a seat as Regulus gave him the floor to speak. "Ah was goin' ta tell ye tha' Ah as hopin' ta retire come summer time if ye were alrigh' with that an don't need tha help." Of course if Regulus didn't feel comfortable leading alone or didn't have anyone else lined up in the mean time Creed would of course hold off on the retirement. While he would enjoy the relaxation time, helping Regulus out wasn't some arduous task that he absolutely hated. It kept him busy and was more fun than he'd admit. "Ah also wanted ta talk to ye about somethin' else if yer no' busy." Walk, "Talk" Think |
