Oh gods! What was happening to her!? Her body felt weird, her scent smelled different, and she felt icky and gross and her...well, she didn't know what was going on exactly, but she had weird urges but had no idea just WHAT those urges were! She came out to the seas plain to try and cool off because she felt hot and uncomfortable. The tiny girl was two now, and she had no idea that she was in heat or even what it was. Whining, she flopped in a small shallow pool and laid there the way a crocodile sat waiting for its prey.
She did this for almost a half hour, but she felt no relief from whatever was wrong. Feeling overwhelmed, she got up and ran to look for her sister. Surely she could help, right? Maybe she was just sick? Mom usually took care of them when they were sick, but she hadn't seen her mom for a while. "Zeepphhyy!" She cried out, tears stinging her eyes. Oh no! What if she was dying!? The thought made her panic, and she so hoped her sister was close. "ZEEPPHHYY!!!" Her panic stricken voice pierced the air. She needed to find her sister!

The queen herself had also been experiencing the same symptoms upon her second year of age. Unlike her sister, she had kept quiet about it. She didn't take much notice of it on most days. It was just something happening to her body; why, she didn't know. It frustrated her keeping it bottled up inside. She felt foolish for not knowing - it seemed like something everyone knew about it. Though what if this process was only happening to her? Maybe something was wrong with her. The thought scared her. Perhaps it was something worth seeing Armai over - surely she knew.
She wasn't too far from her sister, fortunately, and she quickly rushed to the girl's side. Her blue fur was soaked, eyes sunken and swollen with tears. What had happened to her? Had she hurt herself? She couldn't smell any blood, nor did she catch a glimpse of any scratches or sprains. "What happened, Nix?" the alphess demanded, concern lacing her words. She wrapped her large body around the smaller girl's, hoping to bring comfort.
