day met the night

There were too many questions and no answers. That was what Phim found especially hard. She had always wanted to know things and curiosity drove he crazy. Now that her brother was lost, there was a constant ache. She didn't just want to know, she needed to know.
Distractions were what she was after here, though. It was still too early to hunt, the other animals waiting for day to break, but the gulley had more than prey to it. It was abundant with plant life and many of the herbs present there could be useful. She sought out something to treat the cuts on her legs from last night's journey, and it didn't take long for her to find what she needed. Phim pulled a few marigold flowers from the ground and lay down with them, then carefully began licking her wounds and applying the petals. When she was done the sun was peeking over the horizon and she lay quietly on her side, orange petals dotting the black fur on her legs. She closed her eyes and hoped for a restful sleep, rather than the terrors that had kept her awake for ages.

Phim's brother, Daitaro, is allowed to crash literally all of her threads.
