So put me in a cage, lock me in a room. Throw away the key, I dare you

Even though autumn had arrived, it wasn't as chilly as the pale woman had thought it would be. She was still healing up from her battle with Avalon, but the worst of it was over. Her muscles were still bouncing back, but she was still just as limber as she was before. There was something that she was really craving though, and that was a good swim. So she headed down to the beach, the breeze that blew off the salt water cooling her overheated coat. The pale woman let out a sigh and ran into the water, which splashed up over her legs and belly. It stung her still healing wounds, but it was almost a little tickle of pain that sent a shiver down her spine. Mm, it was all just so much good at once. Mercy stepped until her paws no longer touched the bottom, paddling along in the briny water. She didn't have an end goal in mind, but some fish sounded rather nice. Grinning, she dove under and opened her purple eyes under water. Not even thinking about the stinging sensation that soon took over, she swam towards the nearest school of silver fish. She quickly snapped her jaws shut, but got nothing but water. Growling, she swam back up to the surface for air. It would be nearly impossible to catch the fish like this, they were just too fast for her to keep up with. Frowning, she dove back under and swam closer to the bottom of the ocean. If she couldn't get a fish, maybe she could find a crab or something. Quickly glancing around, she spotted something even better. A lobster! Kicking as fast as she could so she wouldn't run out of breath, she reached out and quickly grabbed the lobster by the tail. Feeling a burning in her lungs, she kicked off the ocean floor and swam to the surface, not remembering to watch out for the claws. Before she broke free of the water, the lobster flipped up and clasped onto her noise. Mercy let out a shriek without meaning to, sucking water into her air starved lungs. The pale woman bit down harder, she wasn't letting go of her prize.

Making it to the surface once more, she tried to suck in air but only choked on it. Coughing, she saw an island nearby and paddled over to it as quickly as she could. The lobster still had her nose, blood trickling down her muzzle now. This damn thing was going to die now. Making it to the shore and still unable to take a deep breath, the scarred woman was struggling. Letting out a loud growl, she strutted over to the closest rock and flopped to her side, slamming the crustaceans down on top of it. She heard the shell crack, but it wasn't enough. She stood up and did it again, also slamming her side against the sands to pound the water out of her lungs. Two birds, right? She aimed more for the head region, and with a third slam the stupid thing let go of her nose. Mercy leaned to the side and threw up all the salt water that she had swallowed, and rid it from her lungs. Sucking in a deep breath, she looked at the tiny grains that covered her coat. Giving the dead lobster the stink eye, she ran back into the water and rid herself of the sand. Shaking her coat out under the water, she walked back onto the shore and picked up her snack. She carried it into the foliage, not wanting to look like the beach was clinging to her fur. Once the ground was taken over by plush undergrowth, she flopped down and sunk her teeth into her prize. Her nose still bled freely, the only thing she could smell was salt water and her own blood.

This was her first trip away from her brother and a sense of wary unease was all she'd felt the whole time. She wanted to get away from the volcanic mountain whose terrain reminded her so much of home. She was more than worried that Elias would suffer from one of his episodes while she was gone, but she had already resolved that he could take care of himself. They knew no one here so there wasn't a single wolf here that he could be completely devastated by harming. Nothing could be as bad as when he'd killed Katar.

He'd also set out on his own as well. As tied as they were to the hip they still required some time away from each other so she tried not to let her conscience get the best of her. she wasn't going to be gone that long anyways so she shoved the thoughts from her mind. She wanted to explore a bit, get a change of scenery, and maybe even enjoy herself a little with a solitary trip somewhere. She'd return to him in no time.

The silence was almost refreshing. She'd found a beach and, with no thought at all, had decided to go for a swim. The weather was still pretty hot and the waters were cool enough to let her forget about the sun seeping into her dark pelt. What she hadn't expected to find was an island and she headed towards that with a fair amount of curiosity.

The swim was a fairly easy one and she only paused to shake most of the water from her dampened pelt before she headed off past the beach. Her nose was still pretty stopped up from the smell of salt water so she didn't detect the hint of blood or the scent of the wolf that occupied the island with her. She was mostly focused on looking around so she traveled with her head to the ground as she scoped the place out.

So put me in a cage, lock me in a room. Throw away the key, I dare you

Once the crustacean was consumed, she licked her lips and tasted her own blood on them. A tingle that always followed the taste of blood shot up her back and made her let out a content sigh. That was the stuff. Pulling herself to her paws, the pale woman stretched out her sore muscles and looked around the beach. She still couldn't smell too well, but her purple eyes soon locked on a darker babe with some pretty scars on her shoulder. Mm, what a nice refreshing view after her run in with claws. Lumbering slowly over to the stranger, her elongated tail flicked behind her as she came at the woman's left side. Taking a moment to take in her form and the scars at her throat, her head tilted to the side slightly. Those looked to be pretty damming marks, she wouldn't be surprised if she couldn't speak. Aww, what a disappointment. Well, she could be wrong and there was only one way to find out. Clearing her throat, she looked from the scars to her features with an impish grin on her face. "Tell me you left the other guy with some better marks than he left you," she said with a chuckle, seemingly at ease with a complete stranger. Her muscles were taunt though, she was ready to leap into action if need be. Part of her actually wanted to see how this girl fought, if she made it out with scars like those to tell the tale, she was either fuckin' lucky or really good. Rolling her shoulders, she openly looked the creature up and down. She always had a thing for wolves with darker pelts than hers, it seems. It was never really intentional, but it did make her laugh. Not a single wolf she had been with, besides her first lady conquest, had been close to her own spectrum of colour. Letting out something that was close to a purr, she slowly dragged her eyes back up to her face.

Mercy didn't care what others thought about her. Even if she turned this scarred woman away with her openness she wouldn't be hurt. It was always more fun when they played along, and the scent of her own blood was fueling her darker desires. She was more or less always a horny bitch though, it was a craving that never seemed to be fully satisfied. Maybe she could even sleep with more woman than Gethin had, although she wasn't really keeping count. The pale beast faltered slightly at the thought of him, her lips tugging down slightly. He had to know that she was still sleeping around, right? It was too hard for her to be with just one wolf, it was something that she knew she could never do. When she wanted it, she wanted it. Often she found herself in a situation were it would go one of two ways, a good romp, or a fight. She liked both, so she didn't care in which direction the scales tipped. Focusing back at the task before her, she wondered if the darker lady would, or could, even answer her. She would just have to wait, but Mercy wasn't a patient wolf.

A flash of white caught her attention and she silently cursed the ocean for clogging up her nose. She came to a halt and eyed the female warily. She was large yet not as large as Elias and her crimson eyes easily locked onto the strangely long tail that flicked behind her. As curious as the odd length to the appendage was, she only spared it a few seconds of her attention. For Lia it was quite abnormal for her to see light colored wolves. Mercy was practically a rarity where she came from. Her family had been nothing but dark pelts and giants.

"Tell me you left the other guy with some better marks than he left you,"

She couldn't stop her fur bristling - she didn't quite appreciate how easily the other wolf approached her. She managed to keep a snarl forming on her lips and instead focused on what she'd said. Putting aside the fact company wasn't exactly welcome, she felt a small glimmer of amusement at her words. Considering the fact that anything that gave her scars had ended up dead ... well yeah they were far worse off than herself. Not being able to talk was a hindrance, but then again she had never talked much anyways. So she nodded softly in response.

She realized how difficult communicating would really be. With Elias is was as easy as giving him a look and he knew her so well. With others, well normally he was with her so he could talk for her. Now she was left to her own devices and she hadn't anticipated the challenge it would bring. A prideful part of her wanted to explain her scars and yet she knew it wasn't possible. Instead she raised a brow at the woman, keeping a sharp eye on her movements, and waited to see what else she had to say.

Mercy didn’t miss the bristled fur, grinning as she came to a stop. Ah, touchy was she? There were only a few wolves that she met who liked their space, but the pale woman didn’t care. She wasn’t afraid, if this turned into a fight she would be fine with that. Sniffling, the woman ended un inhaling more of the scent of her blood, shivering as the coppery scent almost sent her into overdrive. Even if it was her own, the smell of blood always turned her on. Coughing, she stood there and waiting for the darker woman to answer her. When she simply nodded in reply, she wondered if she had been right about the injury winding up making her mute. When she rose a brow at her, the same chuckled and sat down, curling her longer appendage around herself. This was going to be fun, as much as she liked the sound of her own voice, it was nice to have a reply from time to time. "Okay so I was right, you can’t talk can you? Either that or you’re really into the dark and mysterious thing," she said with a whisper of a laugh, purple eyes very openly looking her up and down. Mercy did always have a thing for scars, and gender wasn’t something that had ever stopped her before. She took her raised hackles at her coming close as a warning sign though, there was no doubt that she wouldn’t let her close enough for a sample.

Tapping the tip of her tail on the sand, her head flopped to one side as she eyed the other woman. Well, names were going to be hard here if she couldn’t speak. "My name is Mercy by the way, I am going to have to come up with something to call you, mm? What about..." the pale woman looked around, trying to see if there was anything around that she could draw inspiration from. When nothing came to mind, she hummed softly at the stranger. Well, this would be fun… "How about Blackie?" she asked with a snort.

The woman kept her distance, but Eliana didn't relax at all. Her fur fell back flat on her body, but her muscles were still tense. Lia wasn't a wolf who fled at all, so if it came down to it she'd fight the other woman to protect her own personal space. In the mean time though it seemed like Mercy caught the hint. She could smell blood from the ivory woman, though who's blood she couldn't quite tell. Her own? It definitely seemed like a possibility. She didn't focus on the thought for long.

"Okay so I was right, you can’t talk can you? Either that or you’re really into the dark and mysterious thing,"

Eliana couldn't help but snort at that comment. Dark and mysterious thing? Yeah she wasn't talking just cause she wanted to come off as strange and foreboding. That would definitely happen. She watched as the woman's head flopped to the side and her tail tapped against the ground. An eyebrow rose as she studied her - she was wary and watchful. She didn't trust Mercy and she wasn't going to be taken off guard. As she introduced herself though she had to stop herself from snorting again. Her name was Mercy? How ironic. She got the feeling that if it came down to it this wolf wasn't very merciful at all. Her amusement fell away as Mercy opted for giving her a name and she raised her lip in a silent snarl as she called her Blackie. Was she serious? She definitely wasn't winning any awards in the nickname department. Where was Elias when she needed him? He was always good at reading her mind, he had a knack for it, and he certainly wouldn't let this wolf get away with calling her something as idiotic as Blackie.

Alright, so far so good. It was hard to have a one sided conversation, but she was actually enjoying herself. Her lips curled at the Blackie nickname, making her chuckle softly. That was a no go then. Humming to herself, she looked the other woman over again to see if she could think of something else. Mercy had to call her something, "she" and "her" would only go so far in her books. If only she could just think her name really hard and it would magically appear in her head. "How about..." she started, looking around them for inspiration. All she saw was a jungle and a beach, and the darker woman in front of her. Hmmm what to call her... All she could think about were lame things, there was really nothing coming to mind. The dame pouted, her tongue flicking up to lick some blood off of her nose wound. The coppery taste filled her mouth and mixed with the lobster she had had before, a delightful taste. Licking at her lips a bit, she finally let out a huff and eyed the other woman. "Well Blackie was all I had, but that's clearly a no go. What if I just call you E? Then we can be E and Mercy, it rhymes! Pretty cute if I do say so myself." Obviously pleased with herself, she puffed out her chest and waited to see what she thought about that.

Honestly she was just about ready to call it quits and go home, wherever that was. She was still no closer to finding Elias and sitting here and "chatting" with this woman wasn't helping. So far all it'd earned her was a horrible nickname. Though if Mercy insisted on calling her Blackie then she'd already decided she wasn't going to respond to it. The other woman would certainly get the hint that she didn't like it if the snarl hadn't already done so.

But she waited a few more minutes.

Crimson eyes watched Mercy intently as she mused out loud for a brief moment before looking around. Eliana's gaze slid over the landscape wondering what on earth was so interesting before it snapped back to the pale woman again. "Well Blackie was all I had, but that's clearly a no go. What if I just call you E? Then we can be E and Mercy, it rhymes! Pretty cute if I do say so myself." Her ears flicked as she mused the "nickname" over. E wasn't really much of a name, but it was ironic that it happened to be the letter her name started with. She didn't really give a damn about it being cute, but it was certainly better than being called Blackie. So the woman rolled her shoulders in a shrug as if to say "I don't care."

Now that Mercy had something to call her she supposed that was one step towards being friendly, even though Lia was hardly inviting. Either way, she'd come to this island and she didn't intend on staying by the beach forever so she padded past Mercy with a purposeful stride. She was going to explore and honestly she didn't care if the other woman followed her or not.
