She was alone again.

Her travels brought her further, allowing her to explore all that she can before settling into a home. Her hunts had left her satisfied for weeks, eating plentiful with other wolves who aided in the hunt. Reina paused from her travel, her eyes cast to the lush valley. It was a lovely site, better than most places she had visited.

It was autumn now, there was a noticeable chill in the air, but it did not stop her from exploring. Reina pressed forward, her tail swaying behind her, ears perked and listening to all that surrounds her. Nothing interest her. Not even the preys that scattered from her presence. She had no desire to hunt and spill blood, all she wanted was peace. Rather than sneaking off into hiding, the dark woman plopped her body on the soft ground to rest.

Her head rested gently on the ground; a soft sigh escapes her lips from the moment she made contact with the ground. Sleeping would not come to her anytime soon; it was not the time for that. Her eyes remained closed, ears still listening for intruders that could approached. This is where she will rest for a moment, later she will continue her travel for the unknown.

Lark didn't generally wander so far from home, but lately his mind had felt.. tormented. Every season seemed a constant fluctuation of good to bad, without much in between. Things had been looking up for awhile, and then Lillianna had disappeared. Abaven had not disbanded, as he had feared, nor had it been given to Karabela, or Tinaro. Everything seemed to be at such an uncomfortable standstill right now. Feeling rather aimless on this particular day, Lark headed toward the west, following the sun's ascent into the sky.

Despite the sun's rays beaming down on his coat, the day was quite frigid even still. The summer heat was slowly fading away, making way for winter to come soon. His paws carried him without much thought, over the changing landscape, until he found himself overlooking a verdant green valley. Though the season had changed, this place was still quite luscious and full of life. With a sigh, he'd navigate down one sharp incline into the lower part of the valley, eyes mostly focused on little more than what was right ahead of him.

Only when he caught sight of a stranger, did he realize he might not be alone here. His head tilted, gaze searching the woman from a reasonable distance. She was not at all familiar to Lark, and his brows tightened together as he decided what to do. Oh, what the hell. He took a few wary steps toward her, letting out a meager bark as a greeting to her.

A deep slumber did not consume her yet. No, her body was too smart for that, it knew it wasn’t time yet. But she did not move at all when she heard a bark. The dark woman contemplated on what to do; stay still and wait for her guest to leave, or make sense of what they want. She went with her second option.

The dark woman grumbled softly, her long limbs slowly rising from the ground, the tall she-wolf did not face the other just yet. She shook herself, shaking off any dirt that clung to her body and exhaling softly while she slowly turned to face whoever approached her. His scent was the first she notice, laced with the scents that clearly did not belong to him; she assumed he was a pack wolf. Her eyes narrowed at the larger wolf; her black paws bring her away from him to create distance.

“Pack wolf,” She grunted, “What brings you far from home?”

Nothing had felt particularly normal for a long time. Just when Lark was settling into a routine, something would disrupt it. He never used to be one to be nostalgic, but lately he found himself remembering how things used to be and wishing that they could somehow return to those simpler days. His mind wandered as he entered the valley, his thoughts only broken when he noticed another wolf's presence.

She visibly retracted from him, and his brow furrowed slightly. She didn't seem particularly friendly, which was fine by him - as Lark generally was not one to approach others. She hardly looked at him before speaking.. he concluded she was likely less friendly than he was, which wasn't a trait he found in many others. The slightest hint of a frown touched his lips as he eyed her from the distance she'd created. "Loner," he'd retort in response, surprised at how the term pack wolf sounded like an insult when it was anything but. "I was simply on an afternoon walk. Is that not allowed?"
