Mmm, Chicken
A chicken, having not yet noticed the wolf, was clucking and pecking away at a poor mouse it caught. The massive she wolf allowed a grin to cross onto her face. Well well, she thought, what did she have here? Whatever the creature was it looked tasty. She always did have a thing for bird meat. With her ears perking and gaze narrowing the young woman started to stalk towards the creature, surprisingly light upon her large paws. Saliva dribbled down her chin as she wondered what the creature might taste like... Would it be tastier than goose?
Once Pyrrhus had gotten close enough she pounced, jaws snapping closed upon the chicken like a vice. She gave a couple shakes of her head and the creature was officially dead, ready for eating. Feeling proud of herself the femme set the bird down at her paws and laid down, licking her jaws as she began the not so pleasant part of her task before she could eat it; plucking away the feathers.
The woman was settling into her rather interesting lifestyle pretty well. Being able to do as she pleased without pack hierarchy looming over her was comforting to say the least. Of course it left an empty sort of hole that she couldn't quite seem to fill. Being a wolf who both prized her own independence and individuality as well as the company of others was a bit of a harsh adjustment. More than once she'd become frustrated by hunting, but overall life was decent. She was in a new land with a fresh start and new faces. There were friends to be made, enemies to learn of, and a whole continent to explore. What could be better?
Her wandering had become erratic for the most part. She'd spent the last few weeks living her life like some sort of loyal-less nomad. She slept where she desired and only moved on when she felt like she'd seen everything of interest that had managed to catch her eye in the first place. It was fulfilling in an odd sort of way. Despite the fact she was five, she behaved like a barely overgrown child. Her adventures were almost pup-like in nature and more often than not she did daring things that required almost no thought at all.
It was when she came upon the buffalo herd that she knew there was fun to be had. Ever cell within her body urged her to go chase them. She wanted to taunt them, to see what they did when they were angry, and most of all just see how far she could get under the creatures' skin. She had no hopes of killing one, but she saw the fun in the large beasts.
A scent veered her off track. This was one she didn't recognize so she followed it for a while until a strange bird came into view. It was a short bird of sorts though if someone asked she would have never been able to tell them the name of it. Seeing an easy meal of it she crouched in the shrubs that obscured her from view and was just about ready to pounce from the bushes when a red figure came out of nowhere.
She halted and eyed the creature warily as it killed the chicken instead. She waited and watched as it began plucking the feathers from its meal. Her nose turned up at the thought and all of a sudden she didn't care that a meal had been taken from her. She wasn't overly fond of feathers and putting that much effort just to be able to eat her food didn't seem all that appealing anymore. Instead she studied the strange thing ranging from the odd colors of the fur, the scars that marked its body, the strange thing around its neck, and curious of all the long fur that came from its head. In the end she deemed the large thing to be canine, a wolf, and she stepped out from hiding. She could smell the feminine scent and overall wasn't very pleased at the idea. She'd expected it to be a male, but company was company and she wasn't going to be picky right now. She was a little perturbed by the size of her, never having seen a woman as large as she, but she shoved the thought aside.
"What's that thing you're plucking feathers from?" She asked brazenly.
"SPEAK"
A fiery eye shifted back towards the other female, a smirk tugging at her maw. Perhaps it could be fun to see what she could learn from the other femme. Her tail swished thoughtfully back and forth, one ear twitching ever so slightly when she spoke again. “…If I may be so bold to ask, where do you come from?” She chose her words carefully, rising to stand above her kill and look upon the figure of the smaller woman. Her head tilted to the side though, a curious look within her eyes. This woman didn’t look as though she hailed from the same lands as she once had… but who could really be sure? There was a lot of ground to cover in the world after all.
Asha was a little disappointed when the stranger didn't know what she was eating either. Luckily for the enormously large female it didn't seem to be poisonous. Asha had never exactly been too careful choosing her own meals (she tended to walk on the wild side in all aspects of life) but she couldn't imagine what it'd be like if that animal made you sick by eating it. Her nose wrinkled slightly at the thought and she shoved the thought away quickly before the other could noticed her facial expression change. She wasn't exactly in the mood for making enemies at the moment.
"That's a shame. You'll have to tell me if it's any good. I might track down one of my own later." That's if it was even worth taking the time to pluck all the feathers out. If it wasn't any better than a rabbit then she wouldn't even bother.
She didn't miss the smirk that crossed over the other's face. Not too much longer she asked her where she came from before moving over her kill. An eyebrow rose at this but she decided to hold the comment that threatened to escape her brain. No, it was best to keep her thoughts to herself. Maybe she hadn't been trying to protect her kill and instead was just trying to get a better look at her? Either way Asha wasn't a thief. If she wanted food she was more than happy to catch her own than result to stealing from those more fortunate than herself.
"I'm not from this continent, if that's what you mean." She shrugged to herself mostly. If the woman wanted directions Asha was no help to her there. She was about as clueless as they came about this new land and what it contained. She was still scouting around herself and trying to get a lay of the land, but the place was so damn big. She doubted she'd ever get to explore it all in a life time. She'd certainly try though!
"I don't remember the name of where I came though. What about you?" It was an easy conversation really. Asha felt a little bit curious as to where she came from. She'd seen some pretty large wolves, but she'd never seen anyone as large and brightly colored as her. "I'm Asha by the way. Where you're from, is everyone as large and ... strange looking as you?"
"SPEAK"
"Another foriegner, huh?" This seemed to amuse the young Kedieo. "I'm Pyrrhus. Better known as Pyrr." She lifted her head just a bit more. "I hail from a place called Lyenne. Oddities are fairly common there. At least when it comes to my coat color. Though some believe such to be a curse of the Gods." Pyrr snorted. "Which is bull if you ask me. But anywho as for the height, well... I know I get it from my father. He hailed from these lands if I'm in the right place. Boreas he called it."
Pyrr glanced down at her meal thoughtfully. "I'm not sure what I seek here exactly. What about you, Asha?"
Asha decided to relax and let her rump set on the ground slowly. The other wolf could stand if she wanted to, but Asha had been traveling a lot and she wasn't eager to make her paws ache by standing when she didn't need to. She had no doubt that the large woman could throw her around like a rag doll if she wanted to (she'd have to catch her first) and yet Asha didn't suspect that'd be happening any time soon. At least not yet anyways. The conversation was actually pretty pleasant and she felt a bit more relaxed than before.
She chuckled at the thought of the bird's kin. No, she supposed their future wasn't looking too bright. She still wasn't happy by the idea of all the feathers, but it looked like a plump animal. Even if she ended up putting some work into it it would be worth the meal. It looked like an easy catch, they obviously weren't too fast, and seemed a little stupid. She was pretty fast and she was confident in her hunting abilities.
She was more interested when Pyrr (as she introduced herself) explained her coat colors and whatnot were pretty common. The height was still an oddity in itself (not to mention the long fur she had on her head) and overall her questioned hadn't been answered to satisfy her, but she didn't press on it further. Instead she was pleased to know the name of the land she was in. Boreas huh? Well that was a good thing to learn. Not that she cared too much about a locations name, but at least she wouldn't look stupid if anyone ever asked her where they were.
"A new start and a new life." She answered the woman's question easily enough. Her old life had been ripped from her so she was left to start anew. She wasn't sure how she was going to accomplish it but she was determined. "What about you?"
