She sat near the base of a particularly thick tree of the southern woods, grey eyes just watching as snow fell in thick flakes. In the beginning it was slow and small, able to clearly see across the range. But within an hour or two it had begun to grow thicker and thicker, getting to the point where it was difficult to see the lake from where she was. It wasn't too bad though, there was a silent beauty in it that the girl seemed to enjoy. Bringing an air of peace, a time to reflect and let her mind wander.
And she would do just that. Slowly eyelids would come together and cast her world into darkness. Allowing her ears to stand tall and slightly angled from each other to gather as much sound from round her as possible. And she would allow for herself to be released, taking in one long, and deep breath. It would become almost like a trance, losing track of anything but the sound of the wind bringing the snow to the ground or to land upon her own coat. |
