There was an aimlessness to her wandering. She'd managed yet again to shake her irksome little shadow for the time being, though it was only a matter of time before Velia caught up once again. Mara didn't have any particular destination in mind at the moment, just away. Away from that bothersome wolf, and in her ideal world towards some peace and quiet.

Wandering the chilly landscape, it was clear that spring was arriving despite the permanent nip of cold that seemed to stay in the air around here. Things were growing, plants breaking up through patches of snow that may as well have been as a part of the hills and mountains as the rocks and dirt that composed the earth beneath it. She didn't much care for the cold of winter. Or the growth of spring. Heck, all the damn seasons had irritating downsides. Such was life she supposed, continuing on her quest for a spot to finally take a rest from her great escape.

Once amber eyes found the massive leaning trees up ahead she knew she'd discovered the perfect place for a good nap. With a sudden burst of uncharacteristic excitement - of course only due to the prospect of a nap, for there was little else to be excited about according to Mara - she surged forward, entering the trees and surveying her surroundings with her desire for rest driving the search for a good spot to lie down.  Golden light filtered down through the canopy above, drawing her attention skyward, leading the wolf to notice how easy it might be to climb her way upwards, which of course was what she then began to do.

In no time at all the woman was cursing herself for attempting this, for though the climbing itself was fairly easy, she had to really plot out her path and go slowly; one paw at a time with half-tail outstretched for balance, in order to make her way up to the branch she intended to flop down on for a nice elevated nap. Her worry was less about falling while sleeping so much as having to pick her way back down from this spot afterwards. A few times she stumbled slightly and began cursing at the top her lungs. Cursing herself, Velia, the tree, this dumb idea, and everything in between until she finally reached the spot and flopped down with a dramatically heavy sigh, eyes sliding shut almost immediately.

Mara is rude, lazy, and really likes to swear sometimes. She is not pleasant in the slightest.

There was a loud echo of thunder that rolled across the sky, skull rising to meet the second clap met by three flashes of lightning spreading across the horizon. The thousands of droplets pelted black smoke fur that became slightly matted, not minding the rain for it got he bugs out of his coat that he'd been unable to get. His body stretched to its max length when his front legs splayed forwards, spine arching slightly as his jaw dropped for a slight yawn that told him it was time to relax. -Alone again- At-least that was until the scents came.

A feminine smell filled his nostrils despite the rain having come in at a heavy rate, a smile forming across his features wondering whom he'd come across. Blank red eyes shooting upwards to the tree that had partially tipped over noticing the woman, large paws carrying him halfway up the tree before stopping. -Take her- " You know, ist nat safe to be up in ze tree durin a lightning storm. Ja?"  A crisp grin appearing then fading faster as he looked up at the girl before him, already becoming lightly amused with her being up in the tree.

'"Natürlich, wenn es sicher war .. Es wäre nicht so lustig jetzt wäre es? Nun, kommen Sie zu mir schön und lassen Sie uns ein kleines Spiel spielen. Ein Spiel, wo Sie zu Boden fallen und sich vor dem Teufel verbeugen!"' It was his silent wish that he said to himself. The voices in his head rising to meet his dark thoughts, pondering if it was even possible to coax her out of the little perch she'd set up. -Any this possible-

When she heard the other wolf making their way up the tree she silently cursed herself for not checking the area carefully before settling into a resting place. Her damn paws were so sore from evading Velia all day she'd been too eager to find somewhere to settle down for a while. It was a foolish error on her part, but she wouldn't let this situation get out of her control. I have the high ground after all, she thought with a slight smirk that traced it's way up one side of her mouth, just barely visible. Eyes having been firmly shut, she would begrudgingly open one amber orb halfway to gaze down at the male who spoke to her in a thick accent. Something something, lightning, something. She'd be damned if he was moving her anytime soon. This was Mara's spot. Safety? Such a novel idea. It disgusted her.

Yawning loudly in an exaggerated way, as if already bored with his antics - which wasn't all that far from the truth - she would take in the sight of this male with her single open eye. Crimson eyes stared back at her, surrounded by the form of a dark pelted man with crimson and cream markings. She supposed he wasn't exactly an eyesore, a thought that made her grin with amusement. stretching her front legs slowly but not bothering to rise higher than a laying position she rested her chin on the tree limb and continued gazing at him while mentally considering different ways to descend on the brute if he showed any indication of desiring a fight. Opening the other eye and flicking her scraggly half-tail she muttered, "What's life without a little thrill, hm? I give about as much of a fuck about lighting as it does me." She scoffed t the very idea of bothering to move herself from the supposed threat. It wasn't bravery that held her steady in the face of natural dangers, but rather a lack of desire to move from harms way unless she absolutely had to. Besides, the dangerous games in life were more fun. If Mara was going to play she'd better get one hell of an experience to make it worthwhile.

Eyeing him for a moment, amber eyes fixed on this new interrupter with barely maintained curiosity, Mara debated becoming the aggressor. Would this man become irritating enough to warrant her satisfying her desire for a good fight? Only time would tell. Deciding she'd continue the conversation at least for a while to see where things went she added, "Besides, I'm not the only one here now. Perhaps lighting is not as frightening as some make it out to be? Does death by the elements not frighten you? Most would rather go down fighting...
