The youth had chosen to ignore Raba’s call. Probably not the smartest of decisions, but truthfully Nah was feeling sore and hurt. Qualm hadn’t been spending time with her as she hoped… and Karabela… well… it seemed the alphess was far too busy with her duties to pay much mind to an eager young wolfess. Nah was spiteful for this too, though it was hardly Raba’s fault. The young female knew that she’d get chewed out for not wanting to go to the meeting too but… she just felt distant.

Was it her fault? Qualm’s? She didn’t know. She just knew that she wanted others to feel the distance she felt. Her claws dug into the earth, a scowl on her face. Why did she feel like this? Why did she feel so bitter and angry? Was it something deeper than herself and Qualm? Did it go back to her biological parents?

A breath was taken by the youth before she started across the steppe. Her ears were pinned, her mind wrapped up in being angry at everyone. Maybe if she made an effort to do more in the pack she could get noticed by Raba then…? Did it even matter? The frustrated teen let out a heavy huff. Why did life have to be so complicated?

Birna trudged toward the Stone Steppe with an irritated sigh. She felt old, she just wanted to do her job and be left alone but here her niece had gone and volunteered her to train some whelp. She probably wouldn't have minded if she felt the pup deserved it but this one hadn't even bothered to show up at the meeting where she'd officially be moving from Pup to Apprentice. Birna wasn't any sort of disciplinary officer. She was a stern, old warrior who was going to give the brat an upfront ultimatum… just as soon as she found her.

Birna sighed as she slipped through the ruins. She knew jack all about training young wolves anyway and she had no idea how much the girl actually knew about fighting. At her age Birna had already participated in her first siege, blinding her opponent and making a name for herself. It was a different upbringing. What could she possibly say to the girl.

As if on cue she spied Nah and called out to the little creme femme. "Couldn't be bothered to show up to the meeting, hm? You should know Karabela decided to promote you to apprentice with me as your instructor in the arts of battle. Personally, I'd leave you as a pup. If you're not interested in being a part of this pack why not just say so instead of grousing around the steppe like a pissed off turkey?"
