The brutish man stewed in his thoughts. The swamp around him teemed with life, and yet he felt as if it were silence. The peace within his mind of fantasies was enough to block out the buzzing mosquitoes and the stink of fetid water and muck. To Amon, the gnarled trees were somewhat beautiful, and the fog had a way of deadening ambient noise that he greatly appreciated. Yes, this swamp was just fine by him, able to use his long stride and powerful body to navigate more successfully than those puny wolves possibly could. He preened, dipping his chin down to smooth a tuft of fur on his chest.

There were not many places Amon considered satisfactory by his standards. He was in a constant state of motion, searching for something else. For now, he had found himself an island of sorts. A mass of gnarled tree roots had tangled together, and over unknown years the decay of their leaves had formed soil, that soil thus creating a place for him to laze about. Ferns grew amongst the trees and reeds grew at the water's edge, frogs lurking and fish always lurking just out of reach. He would bring the children here soon to teach them how to catch the blasted creatures, but he had no patience for it today. The titan allowed himself to sprawl sideways, get comfortable, confident that no one else could possibly be wise enough to know the beauty of this place.

For one of the first times since joining Abaven the female had longed to go on an adventure of sorts. It shouldn’t take more than a couple days, she thought to herself, and surely Bass wouldn’t mind. Particularly if she could come back with some sort of interesting information. The thought had her in high spirits, and the female walked with not so delicate pawsteps upon the earth. She was a giant after all -- who had time for delicacy and all that sort of crap? The female snorted softly to herself, her fiery gaze scanning the swamplands that she had entered. Now this, a land that could be harsher to those who entered, was certainly up her alley.

Her nose twitched, curious as she wondered if any others might have been bold enough to enter these lands. Ears perked forward, the she-wolf kept moving, not exactly sure what she was searching for, but she felt certain that she’d know when she saw it. The area had a calming aura about it, and the femme was grateful for the existence of this swamp. It was places like this, places she could explore, that made life interesting enough. That and her fights of course. The female didn’t mind if she added a new scar or two to her already impressive collection. She was bold… and she would not falter before another.

But the one thing Pyrr hadn’t expected was to find another creature of her size, let alone a male. She saw him barely in the distance thanks to the fog, a titan… The uniquely marked female paused and flared her nostrils. The hell was this? Were the Gods playing mind games with her now? Not even her own father had been that big! Perhaps it was a trick of the fog? Pyrr approached, and certainly with no hesitation or caution. She was curious, and that curiosity would be sated. “Such a mystery and a marvel…” The female mused quietly to herself. “Hail, stranger. Where do you come from?” Her words rose in tone as she neared the man, coming to a stop with head held high. She certainly wasn’t expecting him to really be as big as he was… and boy was Pyrr going to be in for a surprise.

Amon's peace was shattered. He caught wind of the woman only moments before she appeared through the fog, coat standing out in vivid contrast to the murk. She was of incredible size, as he was. Her mane was unusually long, coat bearing distinct black and orange markings. Amon frowned, eyes narrowing. What sort of creature was this? The unusual aspects of it's coat took the dark-coated brute aback, and he rolled upwards, lurching to his feet. "Hail," she began, and asked him where he came from. His lip twitched, threatening to curl into a snarl. He was disinclined to share even one whit of information with her, and the fact that she would walk up and so brazenly ask was immediately irritated.

Still, Amon did not know the nature or the origin of this unusual creature, so he fought to keep his cool. He leveled the woman with a glacial stare, fighting to keep his suspicion from blossoming into open hostility. "Far away," he replied at last. His voice was deep, the rumbling baritone practically unintelligible over the distance that remained between them. "And you? Do you have business with me?" Amon was blunt and to the point. He would offer her no courtesy until he knew more. Amon knew there were other otherwordly creatures which roamed the wilderness, as he and his kin were. At most these creatures might earn his civility, but that was a far cry from kindness. This woman, no matter her origin, had disturbed his rest and he wished her to leave.

The woman did not feel threatened as some might have, nor did she back down. Amusement danced in her firey eyes; the man surely matched her size, because of that Pyrrhus was interested in him. Her lips curled into a smirk before she licked her lips. So he wanted to know what business she had with him? Pyrr closed her eyes, a soft, pleased rumble leaving her throat in a laugh. “My… you’re certainly to the point are you not? Don’t like chatter I’m guessing?” Pyrrhus tilted her head to the side, that smirk widening upon her lips.

“As for my exact business with you that’s to be decided. You look capable… but it would be rude to ask for a favor without first giving an offering of sorts, no?” The femme twitched her ears, her gaze fixing upon the male once more, tail giving a thoughtful swish. “I’ve not encountered another of my size before… so I’d like to offer you a service if you’ll take it… in return for a spar.” Her offer might have been strange, but for Pyrr fighting was the best way to get to know someone. That was just how she’d been raised.
