The day had been rather warm, but with the cool air of night rolling in, the clouds took on a darker and more sinister tone than they had in the sunlight. Lightning flashed on the dimming horizon and the winds picked up, clearly signaling to Naamah that there would be a storm tonight. Corvus floated along on a breeze as they made their way towards Brimstone Lake, the bird scouting ahead and watching the storm roll in. It was strange to have such a small creature follow her everywhere, but he had lived up to what the grey woman with pink eyes had said. The bird had proven himself useful to her by finding all manner of foodstuffs, he alerted her when someone was near and there was the almost constant finding of shiny baubles and trinkets that Naamah found to be rather brilliant. He was rather attracted to the color blue, Corvus would often bring her blue stones from creek side ventures, once he found a blue shell from the beach.

The bird intrigued her, but there was usually only one beast on her mind. Amon. The male had managed to sink deep into her subconscious, to where now she could only dream of him. The mere thought of the male could cause her temperature to rise and there would be the need to pant, her heart and stomach took turns dancing in her chest it seemed, and there were pins and needles beneath her paws when she walked any direction except where she thought Amon might have gone. Her head actually began to hurt because she thought of him almost constantly. The will to eat or drink had all but vanished, but she somehow managed to force herself to kill and eat. The thought being that staying at peek performance condition would attract Amon more.

Corvus cawed and brought Naamah out of her musings, she had nearly fallen over the rim of the volcanic lake, the toes on her front paws curling to grip the stone as she looked over. Perhaps, there would be some relief from her thoughts if she fell, but she had much to do yet. Drowning was painful, or so she would imagine, besides there were better things to do than die.

Kaprasíus had been gone for these lands far too long. It was hard to shake the feeling of nostalgia as he made his return, creeping through the darkness of night like a specter. He was happy to take advantage of the dim shadows to hide his lanky figure as he moved, the scent of ash and brimstone reaching his flaring nostrils. It was warm here, warmer than he expected - his tongue lolled from the side of his mouth as he panted softly. The increasing humidity seemed a sign of a coming storm, and coupled with the warmth emanating from the ground, he wondered why he'd chosen to explore this place at all.

A spark of lightning in the distance caught his attention, his single-orbed gaze snapping upward to search the skies. It briefly illuminated the lands, revealing the inky black soil and charred rock beneath his paws. These lands were strange, and far from what he remembered, though truthfully he'd spent much of his time in the northern parts of Boreas rather than this southern continent. Still, it somehow felt like home, even despite the sulfuric scent that hung heavy in the air. Jǫrmungandr seemed less receptive to the scent, and the green viper slithered more tightly against the fur of his neck, her preferred resting spot. She hissed in protest, though he mumbled something loud but incoherent to silence her.

The faint silhouette of another wolf had caught his attention, and his immediate interest wasn't in scaring off the stranger - and he knew Jǫrmungandr wasn't exactly the most receptive to other wolves. Or anyone at all, for that matter. The unfamiliar wolf seemed to be lingering near the edge of the volcanic lake, staring down into the abyss, and he couldn't help but crack a lopsided grin as he took a few unsteady steps closer to her.  "Are you finding whatever it is you're looking for?" He called out in his usual drawl, slightly sing-song and tinged with a faint accent that was hard to place. "Or do you require some assistance?" He swore he heard his friend snicker as she unfurled herself slightly to peer into the dim light at Naamah with her beady eyes, tongue flicking out as she too tested her scent.

The presence of another did little to relieve her inner turmoil, or change the direction of her thoughts, but it did serve to distract her enough to have her step back from the edge. Lilith growled dangerously in her mind, angry at the thoughts of Naamah. Red orbs rolled in a darkly colored skull, and her black flag lashed irritibly. Looking at the off-white male, then to the beady-eyed snake around his neck. One dark ear slid back on her crown before she returned her bloody gaze to the mismatched white and green of his own. Haec ad unam cogitat adiuvare me. She speaks to herself within her mind, Lilith cackling like the madwoman she was, sending Naamah's eyes towards the heavens in a sardonic stare. Her head turns back to the lake without a word yet, smirking and turning her eyes back to him at last.

Her white tip muzzle tipped up with pride, "Only gods can be helping now, there is no fixing for the sick I am." Her smile slit her maw, and she came down from the edge of the volcanic opening. "And you? How is Naamah be helping today?" Despite the poisonous look of the snake around his throat, Naamah padded forward though she remained carefully out of strike range of the viper. Fear was not something that drove the woman, instead, she was more curious about the male's companion. "You are knowing you necklace can be killing you, yes?" Her eyes flit with some humor between the male and his snake, increasingly entertained by the irony of a poisonous necktie.

Even in the darkness, and at such a distance, it wasn't at all difficult to discern the stranger's annoyance. Even Jǫrmungandr seemed to sense it, as she stiffened slightly against him. Her demeanor was amusing, at the very least, and he found himself interested in what sort of entertainment she might have to offer him. Even her words, as cryptic as they were, seemed vaguely amusing. He cracked a wider grin, taking a few steps closer to Naamah.

"I seeeee," Kaprasíus called out, not totally sure what she meant. Surely she wasn't speaking of his gods, but he supposed it was better to be a believer in something than nothing at all. Maybe. He wasn't totally sure on that one. "Though I think we're all a little sick, don't you?" Life itself was an affliction, was it not?

Her question made his grin, already a bit wicked, only widen all the more. "Oh, I could come up with a few things you could help me with," the brute admitted, though his eyes narrowed as she willingly closed some of the distance between them. It was easier to make out her features through the darkness now as his eyes adjusted to thee dim light. She was a rather large woman, considerably bulkier than he was, though far from the largest he'd ever seen. He hummed softly, thoughtfully, as he examined her. "However.. insulting Jǫrm here is not on that list."

He pursed his lips, surprised that she had mentioned his friend at all. Most wolves were confused by his companion, and few mentioned her at all. Her green eyes gleamed as the snake watched Naamah, equally as curious. "I could kill her just as quickly as she could I. We have a.. mutual understanding, you might say." Jǫrmungandr hissed softly, though it was impossible to tell if it was a noise of agreement or protest. "Why? Don't tell me you were thinking of taking her from me, were you?" His gaze grew more skeptical, wondering her intentions.
