Goodbye Graceful

The intruder from the other pack had left him feeling on edge. The male had acted strange, maybe a bit stupid, but overall that didn't make him feel any better about it. He still should have known better than to cross their borders and piss in their river and Lionel had made sure to stick very close to home. He refused to let another cross into the pack ever again if he could help it. His life had been consumed by border patrols mostly and constant vigilance. Had that wolf been scouting, testing to see how they'd hold up in a fight with numbers maybe? It was hard to keep the paranoia at bay. Heather's actions had concerned him. Where he'd backed off so he was prepared to handle things with words, and later a fight if it came down to it, Heather had wasted no time in getting directly in the male's face. It was a little scary to think she was so headstrong at that point. Had it been smart to intimidate him like that? He shook his head as he patrolled along the border. It'd been a while since he'd checked up on his sister, even longer since he'd checked up on his other siblings, and he regretted it. After all he'd promised to be around for her to be her rock. They pushed each other to be better and he wanted to be there for her, especially when the time came for her to lead the pack. Well there was no procrastinating any longer. Even if she didn't want to answer any questions he had for her he at least wanted her company while he marked the borders. His head raised upwards as he let out a soft rumbling howl for her. It wasn't urgent, he didn't want to worry her, but he hoped she would come. It would be like old times - just with a bit more responsibility and a bit more weight on their shoulders.
