Wild horses run faster

Now that winter was close to coming to an end and spring was well on its way Baine was itching to do some exploring and get away from the pack's borders for a little bit. Of course the lake was only a short distance away from Celestial... but it was still somewhere else, right? What she really wanted to do was head down to the southern continent for a few days to look around since she hadn't gotten farther than the land bridge last time she went. She was heading in the right direction as she padded along the bank of Wolf Paw Lake, but it was probably already too late in the day to start that kind of journey. The sun was high in the sky above her, telling her the day was already half over. She could head back home and start out first thing in the morning. Then she could tell Regulus where she was going too so he wouldn't worry. She stepped up to the slushy lake edge, stepping carefully around some chunks of melting ice so she could get to the cool water under them. Baine took a drink and lifted her head with a content sigh. She gave herself a shake to fluff out her fur, sending her necklace swaying against her chest for a moment. Winter was passing, but it was still pretty chilly out. She hoped that they had a nice, mild spring and summer. Winter was no fun but neither was hot weather! |
